This is gonna be epic. I never used pets as a tanksorc, although I know that some do, but... regenerative wards with heals and also those new mines with shields? I might remove dark deal/exchange.
@eliforth Using the clannfear is essential when tanking seriously as a sorcerer. It's your only reliable heal that scales with health and doesn't drop block. I'd be suspect of any sorc tank that wasn't using it.
Twilight is like ~12K DPS that you just don't have if you go without this pet. Scamp is ~4.5K DPS and you can get that number from swapping scamp for sorc execute ability... So there is no real reason to use execute over pet because its just easier to run a pet (not to mention that scamp give you AoE useful when there are trash mobs present which is most of the time). And Atronach outdamages every other ult. That's why no pet sorc is always worse than pet sorc, even though being forced to always run pets is annoying.
I've got to find a new skill to manage adds in later Arcs in Infinite Archive, I used Shattering Prison to lock down enemies in AOE's and it was extremely effective, but I understand that was a limited use scenario.
Shattering prison is still there, it just got renamed shattering spines. The main notable change made it it was that the way it deals damage was changed to work more like unstable wall so it can be used as an AoE spammable, if I'm understanding the notes for it right. This healing version is what they did with the restraining prison morph.
The heal debuff to Shialds is going to make the 10% max mag. Buffing Strength of shialds kinda equal out... but the burst from the heal is going to be huge when outnumbered. I did some quick testing on PTS with 62k max magic and 28k resistance's I was getting around 22k heal and a 17k shiald, I was lucky enough to have a few duels with a Arcanist procking all status effects and major and Minor debuffs to healing and I figured out that using Shiald as a heal and not a spammable worked best. Especially 1vX I Tested in 5p BrightThroaght 5p Crafty 1p Domi and Gaze of Sithis Mythic. I feel with a non pet sorc in update 41 Gaze of sithis Mythic and dropping light armour shiald is kinda a must to get around 30k max hp 😉 But that was my experience on PTS. I hope I hear everyone else's experience on the PTS server for update 41
Zos needs to seriously revamp the Necromancer class. Get rid of blast bones it doesn’t even work the majority of the time in PvE or PvP. Buff the skeletal archer and mage and make them permanently summonable. Also, allow us to actually have a flesh Atronach to summon as an ultimate to follow us around like the Warden’s bear. We can get major vulnerability in a number of other ways and we also don’t need a bullshit bomber Necromancer in PvP anymore. Make these changes and make Necromancers feel like Necromancers!!!!!
You’re asking for way too much. We can get away from a bomber build by making them stronger with DOTs. Rather than completely changing the pets to something dumb and likely weak, just have them benefit from the new DOT buffs and be capable of triggering set bonuses. People aren’t realizing how strong the new buff is. Necro can actually get a whole lot out of using all the meta sets like Pillar, Rele, Whorl, etc, 20% more in fact. People won’t just run necros as ult bots anymore. Necro was never bad, just didn’t have anything making it stand out (except Colossus Maj Vulnerability). Now it does.

This is perfectly feasible and what I have been wanting for forever, Blastbones is an annoying clunky skill and there is no reason why a “Necro” shouldn’t have a few skeletal/undead summons while the sorcerer has what we have wanted for forever

They specifically said when they released the class that they didn’t wanna make it another “pet” build class. Right away I knew the class wasn’t going to be good. Summoning minions is the identity of a Necromancer.
@@Sniperjones_007 I think their original vision can still be implemented correctly. Summoning minions is just one part of the identity; the other is rot and decay, the state of undeath. DOTs are also part of the necromancer identity as showcased by something like Ravenous Goliath or the tether abilities, which are great. ZOS just needs to get it right this time, and the best way to do that is tempered, methodical changes. I don’t think you all realize that if they upend the entire class as it is just to please your whims, they could end up ruining the class’s entire cohesion. You guys can’t even grasp that reason the necro has no permanent pets is because YOU GET A CORPSE WHEN THEY END! THEIR PASSIVES GIVE RESOURCES WHEN THEY END! THATS THE POINT! Quick question about the double dipping atro and expert summoner passive. While the atro is active, do you retain both parts of the passive through bar swapping, or does the +10% to resources de-activate?
reading the tooltip it appear that the mag/stam boosts would dip for the 15s or so that the atro is up but return as soon as the atro despawns but as we have found out numerous times in eso that isnt always the case lol

They need to do different skins for Sorc pets and different colours for lightning. IMO Sorc and lightning staff is already op for PvE they need to bring other classes and weapons up to par ie all staffs do big multi-target damage just the element effect is different but that ship has sailed.

Great changes. Seems like a ton of people on the forums do not understand why non-pet are getting the dps stats LOL. Over 12 posts saying that PET builds should get the magicka and stam and non-pet builds should get the health. Reading is not a strong skill these days.
Do you feel like non-pet builds will now get equal dps to pet builds or won't pet builds still have somewhat of a dps advantage? I want to kick my pet in the butt and never see them again.
Id happily play pets if the sorc pets weren't so damned ugly and that blasted flappy thing wasn't constantly flapping in your face and getting in the way.

From the PTS patch notes, the magic blast bone doesn't currently do damage (this may change before the patch goes live to the real game server.) Instead, the skeleton sacrifices itself to give you a powerful buff to your Grave Lord skills and to all of your DOTs for 20 seconds. In the developers' commentary blurb in the notes, this is a response to player complaints that having to spam Blast Bones every three seconds doesn't give the player a lot of time to do anything but spam them. Note that instead of the sacrificed skeleton still leaving bones behind that you can use, you just carry them with you as if you had the Beautiful Corpse buff from the InfArc class set.

Wait til next update...and they can roll the dice and do something else. The trash skill system is such a joke.
Its not about more heals its about give the sorcs extra tools that you can use to drop pets. The only thing they should add is something that gives group utility in trials.

I hate pets. For me, they just get in the way. Although they were helpful in my 1st VMA run 😅 I don't like or want them on my bars. 💪🏻

The stamina version still does damage via poison for some reason. It’s the only morph untouched.

They want to counter pet build. If you give pets ressources than no pet sorcs will never outdamage pet sorcs.
