Have been interested in making an active system for my home in southern new england, for use during our warm summers, and for as much as feasible in shoulder months when warm wx may persist. Unless a different tank design is required, i would utilize a buderus 33 gal indirect HW heater and circulate the glycol mixture thru the heating coil. The pump operation would be triggered by the tank's aquastat. The solar panel would not be roof mounted rather located on ground level (and above basement level) in an area with high sun exposure time period. An antiscalding valve would be used to regualte hw outlet temps. Are there resources available on your website for sizing the solar panel and circulation pumps, etc? Thank you

You might find some resources on the manufacturers website, but we currently don't have any sizing information on our site. Good luck.

can u explain how does water in tank become or converted to cold water

Depending on the system type, heat will transfer from the solar heated water by transmission or conductance through a heat exchanger into the cold water storage tank.

How does the water in the tank not get too hot so that the tank doesn't explode?

There are several strategies depending on your climate. You can provide an overflow system, that allows the system to overflow the tank when a certain temperature is reached. A drain down system that drains the tank at a certain temperature. Shading devices for those days when the temperatures are extreme. Thermostats can be used to prevent overheating by activating circulation.
