I have a pair of flawless Klipsch Heresy speakers. They sound as good as they look. My home theater consists of all Klipsch speakers with two subs, one Klipsch and a Velodyne. We enjoy great movies and the surround sound rocks the house. I will never part with these incredible speakers until I pass. Spectacular !! If I had a larger home I'd consider a pair of La Scalas. I believe the Heresys are a smaller version of the La Scalas. Love the Klipsch sound.
Thanks, James... love the vintage vibe you are serving up! I just acquired the pro version of the Heresy II (KP201) off Craigslist for $150/pair! One $18 tweeter diaphragm replacement later they are sounding sweet! Ironically, they are replacing Dynaco A25s as mains in my HT setup. (My Dynas sadly do not have the original linen grilles as your beauties have.) Until I have my homemade subwoofer completed, the Dynas are now serving as a subwoofer, and (to my surprise) doing an admirable job as I have clocked them down to 32hz before they start to roll off noticeably (I thought only the Larger Advents could do than within their class). In 2.1 the combination is rivaling the Klipsch Fortes in my main 2ch system.
I had a pair of these speakers and they do play loud and clear. The also produce little base and need a subwoffer or two to really sound good. Jazz and Classical sound best through them because of their large horns.
I hear a lot of instrumentals and vocals on these, but seldom any hard hitting bass. I wish someone would do a video with Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight", Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk", or Journey's "Highway Run". All of those have some hard hitting drum segments that would truly test these speakers.
Hi Bryan - Just fyi Heresy has weak bass response. Most fans know this. What many of us do is run "Heresy with a sub". And you don't need a fancy sub - $100 Polk will work fine. If you dig the sound - just get a sub and you are all set.
Right very much in agreement here but I often found personally that I enjoy them without a sub. now I know that in and of itself can seem like heresy, pun intended, but to me they have a very natural Bass whereby it's not extra thumpy but it's more of a subdued quality to it. but like I said I found personally I kind of prefer that only because I've kind of learned over the years that it results in a more balanced presentation. but to each his own and I don't knock anybody for running a sub with them
Had a pair and was disappointed the horns were harsh and mine had no low end, but I knew that going in based on the specs. I sold them so someone else could love them. Building a set of Cornwall copies as we speak! Thanks for posting the video, we need more demos!!!
More of a mid end but muddy and yes they are loud. Might be good for certain aspects of music but not vocals.I have a mint pair of Advents "New Large" a redesign of the 1969 Large Advents. Acoustically enclosed walnut cabinet and new designed crossover. So pleasantly sounding to the ear less fatigue and over all great sounding with warmth and crisp highs.
I prefer Klipsch, I have the forte II's and have the titanium tweeter upgrade and a crossover upgrade soon, which should help any "muddyness" and certain songs. Advents are noce though, i used to have the baby advent iis.
I saw a pair of Klipsch speakers they were floor speakers with no base and at one point had the info tag on the back in the top middle but it was missing only the contour shadow was left they were about 3 feet high by 2 feet wide.can someone tell me what model they were/are? they were vintage and looked like the heresy speakers i think.Thank you for any help that you can provide.

+naturalverities $150 for Heresy II?! Wow!
I own a pair of Dynaco A-35 speakers that are for sale!
There is a pr for sale at USD740 in my country. Looks like its much higher compared to the prices mentioned in here.
I love cranking Otis Redding’s uptempo songs on my heresys... sounds awesome
This sounds very nice. Sounds very live in this video.

The were originally designed to be center channel speakers to use alongside K Horns.
The word is "bass."
Its web page stated the 12in woofers r installed in a sealed enclosure but i don't see any radiator. This restricts foam movement on the woofers.
I got the kg4 circa 1984 love klipsch they won a shoot out with my jbl l88
Great video mate, when are you going to give those neat Dynaco A25 an airing.

Nice equipment, but that's not a very optimal listening area. I hope you have another area somewhere that's more properly setup.
What's the best high efficiency speaker for about .035 btc?

Anyone knows the inclination angle of the bases ?
no bass response
Hope you’ll reply. What model is your conrad johnson and tube amp? :)
Hi Scott. The preamp was a Conrad Johnson PV-5 and the amp was a customized Dynaco ST-35 amp built by Yaeger Audio. Hope this helps.
I have a pair for sale
