It's unheard of to find a Cold Steel that doesn't require suspenders to carry. I'd buy one given the right situation.

In addition to the weight it normally carries, your opinion seems to have a lot of people agreeing with you. Nice! (I'm more into the satin finish than the blackout.)

Huge Cold Steel fan. I would recommend the Double Safe Hunter as a great EDC/camp/outdoor knife, especially for a teenager. IT has a lockback and a side lock. It is an amazing knife. Would be a great gift for a responsible young person as a first or second knife.

I have the FM1 and love it. Great action, thin and lightweight for a Cold Steel. Always in my rotation and as you mentioned the thumb stud is perfectly placed. Good review of a really good edc knife.

This was a sleeper hit for me last year. I wish the lock mechanism stuck out a bit more like Demko or the Vision FG so it could be further up too, but I got used to it and it is super smooth. I hate the Cold Steel Atlas billboarding on the spine though, just keep it cleaner.

That could definitely be interesting. I prefer the titanium but I think the aluminum would make it more versatile for a lot of people. Thanks

Actually a large portion of the CS folders have nice thin blades that are fantastic slicers. Basically the whole Voyager series, Recon series, Code 4 series, American Lawman, AK-47, etc. Though granted, the handles are more beefy than normal folders, but that's to accommodate the triad lock, which is for sure the strongest lock on the market.

Appears to be one of the better Cold Steel knives. We have a few - Talon, Recon 1, Code 4, Finn Wolf's etc... (really don't like the Finn Wolf's - the back lock is always extremely stiff and hard to engage to close the knife - not sure if that's all of them but the two we had were like that one was worse though). I've kind of steered clear of them over the past few years - but this one does look like one of the better ones! At least better than the ones I've seen in the past! LOL Thanks for the review.
Yeah it's definitely not perfect but it's definitely better than anything they've done in quite some time. This looks like a knife that could have been from any more modern company rather than some of their stuff being a bit behind the curve. Thanks

New viewer here. I’m not sure I want to put a lot of stock into a knife reviewer whom has a band aid on his index finger… Just sayin’ 😎
On the contrary, I don't think I'd want to watch a knife reviewer who never had a Band-Aid on his finger ever. I see hundreds and hundreds of knives a year and accidents happen.. If you never see that from a reviewer, then they probably don't handle many knives.

Cold steel mostly look like mall ninja gas station junk. That being said I have an ad10 I love. But a lot of their stuff looks like mall ninja crap

Stuff like the Spartan and stuff definitely fit the Bill.
But they make the Best Farm tools too, SR1 lite and Recon 1 are Great if you prefer a Pocketclip over a Belt Sheath.
This knife gives me Fancy Spyderco vibes and their new Atlas lock is moving into Fidget factor.
They trying new things, but I don't need it.
