Do you know the difference of a 1inch RGB sensor like IMX 383 vs so called 1 inch sensor from DJI Air 3S that is binning BAYER tech, in fact being a sensor way under 1 inch as size and only 12 MPx raw instead of 20+ Mpx????? If YES, why all DJI ASS KISSERS present this drone as 50MPx 1inch, when in fact is under 1inch and Bayer tech 12MPx main camera? ??????
I would also like to point out that all these TH-camrs that released DJIAir 3S videos today were GIVEN these drone for FREE so how do we know if the reviews are NOT bias… I would assume they are since it’s free and they didn’t pay for it. Don’t get me wrong … I like most of the drone TH-camrs and enjoy watching their videos but free to me = bias
And we're allowed to criticise if we want to. My review is after 2 weeks of use and word for word the same as if I'd bought it and I am guessing Darren's is too. For me, brilliant bit of kit = bias
One of the reasons I watch Darren here is that he usually does a good job of being quite open and honest about these drones. This is the first video, normally we're all excited etc and its all about new features, but we always get real life ones after 3 or 6 months too and Darren tends to be quite critical in those. Always points out issues on them and the comments have a fair deal of feedback in them too.
@@aikz5 I wouldn’t go that far but maybe some of them could be. We all know DJI makes awesome things. I love my Air 3 and I’m sure the S is a step up but I do believe some TH-camrs over exaggerate on somethings.
I just got a 4k mini and so far I like the hobby of drone flying. The image is okay but 3 things I’m most concerned with right now is nighttime use primarily, speed, and wind resistance. I know the transmission quality is 1080 at 60 fps with the mini 4 pro and higher drones so that would probably aid big time in night flights. So I’m basically between mini 4 pro, air 3s, and mavic 3 pro. Is there any other model I’m overlooking? And which would you recommend
It depends on your use case, your experience with cameras and photography and videography, your budget and if you care about a better camera, or better safety systems and active track. Get the Mavic 3 Pro if you have a lot of experience with photography, and video and for whatever reason require the best.. it’s weight carries it over the 900g limit for a C1 type drones limiting where you fly without training and certifications making it a bit more a hassle to work with. Get the Air 3s if you are just getting into the hobby, focus on your shots/ positioning and safety features and flying, with the added benefit of safety now while flying in low light scenarios. The weight is under 900g so it fits into a C1 category (depending on where you live) which makes this far more accessible to use and take off with. The Mavic 4 probably won’t arrive till 2025 mid/late. So I wouldn’t worry too much, even if you got a Mavic 3 Pro, and the M4 came out in a month after. You’re still using an extremely impressive kit on a portable drone that can fit in a lunchbox. Realistically, I tell people to get the one they want, within reason of course. The best drone to probably get if you’re starting off is the Mini 4 Pro given its C0 sub 250g category. Far easier and far more fun to fly because you don’t have to worry about restrictions beyond basic safety legislation. You can get more practice in and fit it in an everyday carry bag. Plus if you make a mistake and crash it, at least you did it on a sub £1000 drone package. Instead of a potentially 2k-4K package. Let me know what you think. I’m curious.
@@GhostTheAssassin thanks for the information I’ve already got a mini 3 pro so looking to upgrade, I enjoy flying it but I realise that the camera just isn’t quite cutting the mustard with what I would like to achieve. As someone flying a Mini 4 Pro, with a Flyer ID & Operator ID, considering this drone, can you point to any resource that simply summarises the differences in moving from sub 250g to this? What do I need to do, as well as different restrictions?
Can I use my Air 3 batteries on the 3s
You can yes
Can you use the same controller etc?
@@EvansNcube247365yes sure
Are the AIR 3 and AIR 3S Batteries compatible
Yes
How’s the camera paired against Mavic 3 Hassleblad?
Mavic 3 will still have the edge as it’s an adjustable aperture but for 90% of people this would be enough
@@DMProductions Thanks a lot for your answer. May I ask about the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution? Does that help winning even against this new 1" sensor?
I released an in-depth camera comparison on my channel where I compare wide angle and tele cameras between Air 3S, Mavic 3 and Air 3. Very interesting results!
what goggles are compatible with the 3s
its has o4 transmission so, maybe it will work Goggles 3 just like avata 2, neo and mini4pro
can you do active track with the telelens?
Yes
What I would want to know, as a just "fly for fun" pilot is with the Lidar and 360 deg. sensing, is it still prone to (as its now time for the leaves to go), to hit the small tree branch tips that lie in wait???
Many thanks for great review. I have Dji mini 3 pro. Didnt use much before. Is it worth for upgrade? Thanks in advance
That’ll be a huge upgrade !
Did they not release that GPS remote everyone was mentioning?
That is awesome, outstanding, and the video. ❤
Really is such a great drone now, think I’ll sell the mavic 3 pro
@@DMProductions it makes sense for what you do and where you go Darren. No sign of a mini 5 pro lol 🙏
I have the RC2 with my mini 4 pro, will it be a simple process to bind with the air 3 s or will it be complicated as now ie unbinding my mini 4 pro and then binding the air 3 s ? Looking at getting one but don't need two rc 2 .
Yes it’s easy you just switch drones via the connection button on dji fly when you turn the other drone on
@@DMProductions great ! Hmmm, I wonder if DJI will sell drone only ?
Had hoped to get more infos about the new GPS remote. Any news here? Do you think it will be compatible with the air 3?
Rumours don’t always get it correct, maybe in the future we might see it
if its a o4 transmission maybe it will.
great review as always Sir , thank you
Thank you kindly
Great video my friend! Waiting for mine to arrive 👍🏻 oh and great desert shots 💯👌🏻
Looks like filmed on Fuerteventura? Wasn't it too windy for filming? I was there in April and had only 1 day to film with my Mini 3 Pro, because the rest of days wind speed was over 40km/h.
Yes super windy, I show in the video how well it goes in the wind tho
@@DMProductions I will definitely consider this drone. Looks awesome. I wanted to buy recently Mavic 3 Classic. But this Air 3S looks awesome. Is it marked a class C?
Was your footage from the Azores? If so, which island? Also how is the quality of the digital zoom video from the tele camera?
Looks like Fuerteventura.
Lanzarote. But where can I get a permission to fly at Timanfaya National Park?
Thanks for the video…. Is it worth upgrading from the 3 to the 3S? Also… isn’t the tracking all just in the software?
I have a video coming on this, the new chip is the reason for the improved tracking and LIDAR and sensors have been improved
@DMProductions lol, how can lidar sensors have been improved? This is the first DJI to have lidar. Just teasing you, I know what you meant.
@@gregb1599 Like NEW and Improved??
The Mavic 4 Pro is going to be Insane!
When is it coming out?
@@SnackBar762 not sure yet. Maybe next year
I had a Magic 3 pro and for some God aweful reason I sold it, so I have the Mini 4 pro left. How would you rate the air three S compared to these two maybe in the middle? What I benefit by getting an A3S over the mini 4 pro
if for commercial use/professional and you are already a certified drone operator go for A3s.
mini4pro is for beginner, vloggers and people who don't want to get a certified drone pilot license and don't want to register their drone.
@@KeenTBaaMTV the faa certification is completely pointless when hobbies can fly the exact same drones without any qualification. It’s illogical.
Is this much better than the DJI Mini Pro 4? Is it worth the upgrade?
I have the 4 pro and just bought the 3S. I haven't replaced the mini but adding to it. I'd not swap the Mini 4 pro for one because of the sub 250g advantages but this one compliments it for me.
@@typhoon-7 alright, thank you!!
Ordered through Amazon UK while they have stock. Should be here tomorrow. Do you think they will make it compatible with the goggles 3?
Yes I would think via firmware
Saving for one now, at that price point it's a steal !
How come no mention of DJI RCTrack?
It’s not available
Great review! Thank you 😊
Great video and very informative, just like your other reviews on the Air 3. Bought the Mini 4K in July and it is an amzing drone giving great footage. Wanted to up the game and started researching other DJI Drones and came across your reviews on the Air3 which sold it for me and was about to order one till i heard the Air 3S was coming out so waited. Was released today in the UK and bought the Air 3S - RC2 combo package which arrives tomorrow and can't wait. Please don't recommend anymore for a while as the wife will be screwing having just spent another £1,400 ouch. Keep up the good the good work and will be watching your future videos on the Air 3S. 👍
