Wow!! She is a professional's professional!! I can tell the care & thought she's putting into each step takes so she doesn't make any unfamiliar noises AS WELL AS the way she "soft-clicks" the scissor so the noise doesn't suddenly freak him out (bcz it's so close to his ears). She is wonderful at her job as well as putting alot of care & thought into every step. If she's not already, I'd DEFINITELY make her a part of the family.

Could learn to sit more still though. I always hated going to hairdressers but I do respect them and tried to keep the position to make it easier for them. Usually try to keep the eyes closed for the majority or a great part of the session. It's just a nice thing to do. He moves too much
She's not cutting his hair any different than she would anyone else. I'm not sure what you mean? I've done hair for 37 years and this isn't a big deal. He's actually doing fine. Little kids are much harder to be honest.

I've had some strict ones that put my head in place and so it should stay there until they move it again. During that time it's at their disposal to make their work easier and faster. I wanna make it faster, I hate being in such places. Have not been in a long time. My girlfriend now does for me at home and I still try to sit as still as possible for her. I do hum and make sounds though with her during that time which helps to relax. In public hairdressing places I don't feel comfortable humming and but lately I have started doing it more in public, some people find it weird but it's relaxing and good for the voice

Gabe is being very patient! He is for sure getting a sensory experience from getting his hair cut. I find myself just smiling from ear to ear when he makes eye contact with the camera. I can only imagine that you must be smiling, too. I super super enjoyed watching the bowling and arcade trip. He did so great!!

Seems like Gabe gets his hair cut often, my grandson does also.. J loves his hair cut, Gabe seems to like it longer. He looks good with his hair long or short. He seems to prefer it longer. Hair is no big deal a child should be able to decide this for himself/ herself. Long island kathy

Gabe did so well during that haircut, especially with the use of scissors. The calming background music is such a great idea too, definitely doing that next time. My kiddo is also nonverbal with ASD and haircuts used to take about 2-3 days to fully complete with many breaks along the way. This is truly such a big accomplishment. Nail clippings are now the main challenge for us.
I love when one of his moms comes over to help him get thru the part that is especially uncomfortable. As soon as he sees her he smiles and his shoulders come down as you see him relaxing. ❤

Hi Gabe, just so you know my son who’s also autistic loves to watch your videos. He doesn’t love having haircuts either but we found a man that is patient and kind with him. He allows Scotty to process each step of his hair cut. No clippers, just scissors. He always had longer hair until recently. Your moms are wonderful and you’re a very blessed young man. You’re making an impact on other kids that see the world through a different lens and oh how beautiful you all are. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. Love the Kai family in SoCal. Getting a hair cut can be one of the most difficult of things for someone with autism. Gabe has done so well and Ping was brilliant with him well done both of you. My son is 31 and getting a hair cut depending on how he is feeling can be difficult for him even having the same person doing it at home. Been touched and moved around can just be to much. Love to see all the different facial expressions Gabe is expressing such a lovely young man especially when been squirted with water bless him. ❤
My son is 6 year old an he has autism. I couldn't of asked for a more perfect human being tho. Gabe reminds me alot of him. The innocence just melts you. I hope Gabe has a very awesome day :) an his hair cut looks great :)
So handsome! Gabe reminds me of a gentleman I took care of many years ago. He's only a few months older than me and has a very rare seizure disorder. He always had a string that he carried with him everywhere he went and it had to be ling enough to drag on the groundand then some. I used to ask him if he was practicing his casting so he can go fishing. I encountered many clients when I was a Direct Care Provider who had to have something in their hands to play with all the time. I always wondered if they had a form of autism and was never diagnosed.
Ping did an amazing job on his hair, he's so handsome. It's so nice to see the accommodations people make to fit his needs, he's definitely a top priority. I'm so proud of him for overcoming his fear! Good job buddy! He should be in GQ magazine or something because he definitely has that model look.

Hi Gabe, just so you know my son who’s also autistic loves to watch your videos. He doesn’t love having haircuts either but we found a man that is patient and kind with him. He allows Scotty to process each step of his hair cut. No clippers, just scissors. He always had longer hair until recently. Your moms are wonderful and you’re a very blessed young man. You’re making an impact on other kids that see the world through a different lens and oh how beautiful you all are. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. Love the Kai family in SoCal. P.S. he said he’d love to meet you someday. He’s verbal but enjoys getting to know non-verbal autistic kids as he’s keenly aware of their unspoken words. You look very handsome btw 😊
Getting a hair cut can be one of the most difficult of things for someone with autism. Gabe has done so well and Ping was brilliant with him well done both of you. My son is 31 and getting a hair cut depending on how he is feeling can be difficult for him even having the same person doing it at home. Been touched and moved around can just be to much. Love to see all the different facial expressions Gabe is expressing such a lovely young man especially when been squirted with water bless him. ❤
My son is 6 year old an he has autism. I couldn't of asked for a more perfect human being tho. Gabe reminds me alot of him. The innocence just melts you. I hope Gabe has a very awesome day :) an his hair cut looks great :)

So handsome! Gabe reminds me of a gentleman I took care of many years ago. He's only a few months older than me and has a very rare seizure disorder. He always had a string that he carried with him everywhere he went and it had to be ling enough to drag on the groundand then some. I used to ask him if he was practicing his casting so he can go fishing. I encountered many clients when I was a Direct Care Provider who had to have something in their hands to play with all the time. I always wondered if they had a form of autism and was never diagnosed.
His level of patience is awesome...her determination for success is infectious!
Ping did an amazing job on his hair, he's so handsome. It's so nice to see the accommodations people make to fit his needs, he's definitely a top priority. I'm so proud of him for overcoming his fear! Good job buddy! He should be in GQ magazine or something because he definitely has that model look.

I enjoyed seeing him self-advocate for keeping his hair long. However, he always looks so attractive with it shorter. Glad you managed to convince him. She did a great job, too.
