The reason caves make the sandwich making so blinding is because it turns on the lantern on your picnic table, which is directly next to where the camera while sandwiching is.
Its actually because if you’re in the cave it’s very bright outside and the picnic uses the light outside to make a sandwich. It’s also really bright when you trade.
This is easily the best guide I’ve seen for these cyndaquil hunts. You do a good job addressing all the minor issues that would make this hunt a pain in the ass. I came here looking for your video because I couldn’t get anything more than like 5 spawns for each reset. Thank you!

I followed the video and found a shiny after my second picnic while watching! Two more to go.

Got an outbreak to spawn before I could get one for Torchick, and managed to get 4 for the living dex (including Hisuian) in like 6 hours (only used 2 sandwiches, neither successful) I found if you don't get many spawns it was better to walk up to a Cyndaquil that's standing on the spawnpoint and scare it off, then go back to the back ledge without picnicing. It doesn't look like anything would spawn outside (even without Encounter Power). Since you'll be going up to check for shinies behind the ridge anyways, picnicinig when there are only 2 or 3 Cyndaquil is just a waste of time.

i can tel from experience when you get a mas out break of cyndaquil ik can spawn on top of the cave instead of in the cave. so if youre lucky enough to get an outbreak you need to hope that it is in the cave instead of above it. i date reset for like 2 hours just to get it on top of the cave
I had something similar with a Drillbur outbreak once. It was out in the northwest of the Canyon biome, nothing would spawn above ground, there was no part of Chargestone Cavern underneath that spot, and I couldn't find any smaller caves nearby either.
The Pokémon outside don’t affect the cyndaquil spawns inside with this method. I explain the reasoning in the video. Also that is WAYYYY slower to go outside and a waste of time

I tried with an outbreak and still wont spawn more than 4 and ive been doing it for 3 hours
it took a long azz time for me to reset to get chikorita to spawn! but when I did I got 4 shiny ones
Just to make it worse, you're going to need 4 if you want to evolve one to the Hisuian version in PLA
