if you live with your family that too in your own home & that too in government granted buildings like mhada colony or similar societies .....their maintenance cost for buildings is about 300-500 per month only.... also the monthly expenses come down like the cost of maid for for making food and all is cut down only expenses are of ration, electric bill, ,groceries,milk that totals only about 12-15k that to for a small family

Not at all true. I am living in Mumbai for all my life & my dad is single earner in my family. His salary at retirement was 1.2L per month. Still we could afford a home, a car & a new home in Pune for investment purposes. Both me & my sister got good education. So to all those people who think Mumbai is not for salaried persons, don't believe in these lies. I have seen countless examples of people around me in Mumbai who have bought houses here being salaried professionals. The only thing is all of them lived on rent sharing basis & increased their salaries by working 6-8 years in corporate & then bought a flat. And for all practical purposes Vasai, Virar, Thane, Navi Mumbai is a part of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) so buying houses here is also a very good idea. The new airport in Navi Mumbai is in fact driving up a whole new market of big affordable residential areas in Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Kalamboli, Khandeshwar, Mansarovar, Ulwe, Uran, Taloja, etc. With a new sea link & metro connecting these areas, it will be easier to travel too. So people trying to buying a flat in or around Mumbai you definitely can!!!!

Because 50% of flats in Mumbai are purchased by the money poured by investors and so builders charge heavy price for retail, however most investors are either NRI or people from different parts of our country who are already having a house. Thia is why many flats are empty in this city and renting is somewhat reasonable.

Are you single? If so you can find a PG room for maybe Rs. 10,000. Flats in South Bombay are Rsl. 1.5 Lakh per month. Don't know about Chembur.
