Yeah. There are very lazy simulators using UGC Limiteds to make kids grind for hours and hours for an item that'll probably go out of stock before they're near the end of the milestone. There's legit a game right now that just makes you have to sit for 3 hours in a white box just for a white box UGC limited..

To add, there is a youtuber called Conor3D who has been having to keep up with making videos about these items and I'm pretty sure he's starting to lose his mind 💀💀

Even if it's really difficult, if it actually feels fun and new you get a thumbs up from me. Just please don't do what some of the simulator games are doing right now (such as Ninja Fighting Simulator)

My idea for the ugc would be doing a verification system. Basically the ugc doesnt get uploaded until roblox actually verifies it. This would avoid many fake limiteds, but of course moderation has to be a little bit better too.
It wouldn't work. Remember how there were scam ads everywhere? Those had to be manually approved and they were pretty obvious but still got approved. I don't think the moderators can deal with small seemingly unrelated parts.
They had to add a (unnecessary) verification just to comment and follow a player's profile but not this

Yeah when UGC started, it had a few bad apples like BiggestHead and the Piss Parrot, but there were still a lot of genuinely good items. When a certain group of creators started following trends like the Cartoony Rainbow, that's when it went downhill, cause creators realised UGC moderation was non-existent at that point.
I personally really like the fact that people have recreated stuff from other games (Sonic, FNAF, Pizza Tower, OMORI, etc) as it allows people to dress their avatar like their favorite characters which is fun. But yeah, I was trying to find a pair of headphones for my avatar yesterday, and I ended up endlessly scrolling through the same exact pairs just with recolours (all by the same creator btw). It's actually fucking ridiculous lmao.

Ugc seems to always have that one period of time where ripoffs are on the shop for a while. Not only that but copyrighted assets from other franchises are being used. Mainly seen with ugc “faces”

hot take, limiteds and overall making items off sale should’ve not really been a feature ever, as limiteds leads to scamming, offsite markets, and a much deeper sad rabbit hole of illegal activities revolving around limiteds. I’m not saying people should be able to purchase specific items such as ban hammer or staff specific items specifically. But items should’ve had a set price and stayed purchasable forever. The reason roblox allows gambling, and all of this makes money in some manner. If roblox wanted to become a better platform and eliminate scamming it would need limiteds to be completely scrapped as a whole.

This is a hot take but I really don't like the "Peak UGC" account, my issue with the account is while it does call out legit 1:1 knock off crap which is good.
Sometimes the person will call out hats based on real items and label them as knockoffs to list a few
- Tried calling out a ugc creator for making classic fedora copies ( They were just fedoras and looked nothing like them )
- TRIED TWICE to get the same red bandana taken down which got everyone to shit on him the first time but the account owner apparently didn't get the message ( It was also from a collection of coloured bandanas which shows the person who uploaded them had no malicious intent but peak UGC basically tried painting this dude as somebody worthy of being kicked )
- Has called out hats that are based on real items because there's a limited based on said irl hat.
- Believes the tea kettles ( which weren't even made by ROBLOX ) should be taken down in the thread of the mentioned red bandana tweet.
However my main criticism of the account is that they 95% of the time call out knockoff UGC items but seem to neglect ( Along with the wider ROBLOX community in my opinion ) hats that are copyright violations, the damage the limited knock offs do to the ROBLOX is nothing compared to what could happen if one of these large corporations that are picky about their properties ( Nintendo/Disney/certain anime studios for example ) caught wind of whats happening. Like I wish the owner would use their account to call out items that will do the real damage but instead they don't and it just feels like it isn't about bettering ROBLOX and just... calling out limited knock offs because "UGC wAS a MisTAkE, OlD RoBLOx BeTtER" those are my personal thoughts on this shit but please don't let this whole limited knock off talk distract ya'll from the true threat to ROBLOX which is copyright violating items.
This is why I appreciate every UGC creator that actually takes the time to credit the source material of whatever item their making, and/or ask for permission first if they're able to. I also think whenever other games do crossovers with ROBLOX (like Sonic and Sanrio as more recent examples), they should allow good UGC creators to volunteer on making items they know people will enjoy. Not sure if they're already doing this, but I think it would be neat.

The catalogue has been an engrossing and treasured feature of Roblox, one of the many first reasons that newbies buy robux to spend... I'm gonna be honest, I miss when the roblox cosplay community were actually being creative with their avatars. You could recognize the character while also giving off that roblox vibe and showcasing the cosplayer's effort, now it's just full of ugly copyrighted items with those even uglier "anime ugc faces". Sure, it's cheaper and easier, but it's just... no.

I think most of those limited rip-offs like the super super happy face, black clockwork headphones and etc..., they probably do this for decrease the prices of those limiteds cause of the inflation(this is just what I think then idk, probably I'm wrong but who knows)

Ugc is such a mess right now, so many anime items like 100 luffy straw hats/faces, basically lots of copyrighted items of any popular anime out there. Honestly i don’t care about the cheap limiteds situation because who would spend thousands or irl dollars just for 1 roblox hat, and why buy the real expensive one when you could get a cheaper one for around 5 dollars? I’m also still waiting for the day when we get a ugc creator who makes pokemon items.
i was onboard with this update cause i thought moderation would be better.. but give it some time to see y’all know this is just the beginning and it’s something they’re experimenting with so of course it’s going to be a disaster for awhile, just like with vc and when the ugc applications became permanently opened it was chaos but it soon settled down, just give it time to see and if any creators have items being copied simply file a DMCA, let’s just see how it goes a year from now..
Ya'll keep talking about how if public UGC releases, it'll be chaotic. However, who cares? The clothing section is already super chaotic, but we're apparently fine with that. One of my friend draws and make 2 clothes. They are talented artist. they had to deal with taking copies by DMCA files and was annoyed by it everytime they have to take down copies. They got proof they drew it from scratch on recording. One time, an art thief just stole one of their popular piece of clothes fron their group and just obviously tried to edit (skew method) and trace over it. They tried to sent fake restate dmca file claiming they didnt trace when it was visually traced obviously and literally pretended to be lawyer and faked lawyer signature. It could proven they are NOT a laywer by looking up their name and address. This was a grown 42 years old woman stealing a work of 17 years old. And the roblox employee for was suppose to look into the file decided to take side fake dmca file and didnt try looking and comparing the clothes. What suck is the roblox employee don't look into which assets was stolen and compare what asset got stolen designs to take down. I won't be suprised if my friend isnt only one affected but I'm seeing other clothes designers on roblox affected either got falsely ban or quit designing aswell. It really dissappointing to see how roblox handle dmca files and copied stuff.
Though UGC isn’t great as of now, you can still find some great stuff. Still though, Roblox should of made it application based so have some actual quality in ugc.

Ok, hate to admit, but the way they copied all time fedoras was quite clever, how they disguised parts to look like other individual ugcs, the only red flag you could notice is the texture.

I was also in there discord and was spying on them. They steal Roblox’s ugcs then I called them out for it then they get mad at me when I told them this is wrong, in a respectful way. Then they get mad then say disrespect things to me, they also get 100k from doing it. But I got a video video of it to.

ugc was an excellent update because it allowed for more diversity in items and less strict pricing (roblox made items tend to cost much more). the problem came with shit like this where they just let basically anyone get access to it and with no effort to moderate on their behalf like usual that’s where this type of thing happens

Removing UGC is an asinine take. You’re all blowing this out of proportion. Yes, the copies of original items is annoying and scummy, but outright banning UGC is complete nonsense. Out of all the items in the store, you highlight the minority and say “all of them are bad!!”. Take a good look at the items being created to fully express people’s personalities. Hell, UGC brought more expression to people than Roblox ever could if they didn’t have it.
When it was first announced in 2019 i remembered being so excited just so we could all make stuff like dominuses, valks, and literally like anything we would want, but ever since 2020 when people kept wearing stuff for trendy avatars which made me hate ugc then after time i just entirely hated ugc, every time you would try to search up an item made by roblox and even click creators-roblox it was always all ugc just popping everywhere, also most of the stuff everyone uploaded were the same crap like the messy hair combos it all literally just looked the same, i hope ugc like actually just gets removed in general.
The worst possibily thing about the roblox limiteds, are the damn resellers. I swear some put the most stupidest items for like 209k+ robux.

Man, I've literally started learning blender to create examples of UGC I would post and ave stuff to apply with. Now they want to make UGC public and I'm supposed to pay them more money now? I feel like Sisyphus.
I dont really care about the copys as at the end of the day they are just digital items. Im just worried about the bypasses that there will be. If you have seen some of the nudity bypasses in the catalog imagine that. Thousands of children could be exposed to nsfw content.

at this point in time you can't go onto the catalog without seeing blatant knockoffs. I have just checked it and every row has at least two knockoffs/copyrighted items and now I mustn't be the only person that thinks UGC should just be completely redone as it was in 2019
im concerned about bad people uploading bad stuff on to the UGC catalog if it ever goes public, sure the knockoffs are a bad thing, but im more concerned about people uploading inappropriate accessories (breasts as an example), and hate symbols or offensive items (transphobia as an example), if people figured out how to upload direct copies by just cutting up the items in to 3-4 different pieces, whats stopping people from doing that with breasts?

I never bought any UGC items recently because of how much of a clown circus it has been regarding what's happening any everything wrong it in the first place

so personally im glad x6 made the recolors of the spiky hair instead of there just being the light blue and brown because the hair looks good and roblox should have made more versions of it in general but imo I think the copies aren't that big of a deal considering people dont have thousands of dollars to spend on a pixel item
Roblox giving the public UGC that anyone can make is good at some parts, small creators can make stuff for their games and more
I quit roblox and come back usually about like every 4 months or so, but what the hell is this? How are these ugc creators getting away with creating exact replicates of famous items?
Yeah and it sucks when you see south park or family guy faces and they call them: fat kid head or sister head or angry baby head. Yeah I hate those.
I think it's fair to terminate these creators considering the amount of Robux that they earned off of these UGC items. If Roblox is refunding users for them (which I heard that they aren't going to anymore because the new terms of service update is basically their statement that they don't have to do that anymore, along other things), then Roblox would end up at a loss if the earnings weren't also revoked in some way.
The uploading of copyrighted content like from movies and games is also very prevalent. I'm surprised Roblox hasn't been noticed by these companies (Microsoft, Disney, etc) for this.

idgaf if some nft limited that costs 2 houses is getting “devauled” because truth be told literally nobody cares about those limiteds anymore, barely anyone has the rare limiteds (like 10-20 copies) so nothing much is gonna happen even if copies get uploaded
