I like non metallic pokey things. I've been carrying ceramic knives from harbor freight in non metallic sheath. they're like $4 and can chuck it if needed. They also cut.
Make sure you test it against a quality wand or walk through. Ceramic knife manufacturers sometimes put metal in the handles, so they can be picked up.
Whike this video is really old I highly encourage women (or their husband's initially) to check out Flash Bang Holsters. They are a kydex holster that attaches to the center point of a bra allowing a ladies curves (& they don't need much) to carry a compact pistol. My wife is a smaller build & lean/athletic. There is no way she will wear a pistol belt, & with the shirts she wears she couldn't conceal a M&P shield without printing. She also trains BJJ & being able to deploy your pistol from your back (much like appendix carry) is very advantageous.
In terms of pistols for women to carry with yoga pants I'd recommend taking a look at the keltec p32. It weighs 6 ounces. If you load it with European 32 acp fmj it meets minimum penetration in gel and gets 14-16 inches of penetration in ballistic gel with denim covering.

You can bring them past metal detectors. These non-permissive environment tools are lightweight, point-driven, and non-metallic. I personally bring mine to all sorts of different venues.
You can sharpen G10 and it can cut pretty well when done right. It just doesn't hold an edge long but it's plenty for the intended, emergency only, use case. I'm not sure why Black Triangle group doesn't, other makers out there do. Still a solid product, just wish they would sharpen them.
@@tylerb556 What are you talking about? Stabbing them doesn't make them angry or somehow prevents them from having an adrenal dump??? An edge only adds to the potential of this tool, it takes nothing away. In fact, it makes it much more useful as an EDC tool for emergency situations outside of just stabbing someone, like say a car accident where you need to cut a seatbelt. There are no downsides for the end user in having a cutting edge.

I'm sure that you're aware of the Enigma by Phlster, that coupled with the Sig 365 has worked well for the women in my life. Might be worth checking out. I agree that getting them to carry with any consistency is a challenge though.
People can/do fight through pepper spray, indefinitely. Uncomfortable, but not difficult. There is a finite time that you can fight through blood-loss, punctured lungs, incapacitated limbs, etc.

I just think in the case of a woman whose primary focus is not self defense training/mindset that it offers a more realistic chance of ending a dangerous encounter successfully by giving her the option to flee. While there are definitely exceptions to the rule, on the whole women tend to be smaller, slower, and weaker than men. That's why I'd advocate for a tool able to be used at distance as opposed to one that necessitates close quarters contact in order to be able to fend off an attacker. I'm not going to pretend to be a subject matter expert or say that my strain of thought is the right way or the only way. It's more of an intellectual exercise that's largely based on the scenario that I envision as the most likely for the women in my life. I appreciate you taking the time to respond and expound on your own thinking on the matter. I certainly believe that your lady friend is much better off with some tool than none at all!
