It wasn’t exactly a sacrifice. Kate and Simon knew the risks when they offered to help, things just turned out bad like they hoped it wouldn’t, unfortunately. They’re lucky they ALL didn’t die there
Yeah, killing Maya Hawk off so early is definitely reminiscent of what happened with Drew Barrymore in Scream. This series is like a little love letter to different types of horror and part one has the 90’s horror slasher like Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Urban Legends, etc.

Yes I thought it was going to be more Goosebumps-esque and more kid friendly. I was so wrong but so delighted.
Honestly one of my favorite movies. The characters have so much depth like Alice. She seems like a grouchy cool girl, but she was actually really depressed

I feel like part 1 is the weakest, only because it has to do a lot of set up for everything. However once you watch the other two, it makes the first movie worth it. So while it is the weakest (not to say it's a bad movie in the slightest, I definitely love this one!), in conjuction with the other 3, it finally ends up being worth the time, you know?
facts, I definitely agree. i watched the first one w my friend and we were almost put off watching the other two movies because of part 1😭. luckily we continued and it got way better with each movie
i love this trilogy with my entire heart. i’ve rewatched them all like 8x they’re so good. my personal fav is 1978 at the camp.
I watched these as a big Fear Street fan, my favorite of them is Part 2: 1978, didn’t care for them killing the best friends to save Sam but it makes it a bit more complex and gave us a really gruesome death for Kate. They definitely changed the story of Sara Fier a lot from the books. Can’t complain too much because they made these REALLY WELL, and they’re currently planning a second trilogy. I’m hoping it’s a Fear Street Cheerleaders story for that one.
The music in this one and 1978 is awesome. I love both time periods. I also enjoyed the nods to other horror movies. I grew up reading the books so I think the films did a great job of capturing the feel of them. 💜

This is such a great trilogy! It came out last year and I’ve been meaning to rewatch it! The 90s vibe is awesome and I grew up reading Goosebumps/Fear Street books. Can’t wait for the next two reactions!!!
I only watched this because I was bored to death and I had just gotten my Netflix back and thought " it's a horror thingy it's got that chick from Stranger Things it'll at least be watchable." Holy hell I was shocked how much fun I had with all three of these movies. Sooo good. Part 2 is my favorite.

I was an avid fan of this book series in the 90s when I was a kid. This trilogy does an amazing job honoring the spirit of the book series. Such a wonderful gift for us fans.
I figured the random people were murdered simply for being in the way.
So for why the killers killed other people. It’s essentially people who either had Sam’s body fluids on them or people who interacted/were in the killers way to get to Sam. Receptionist? Probably tried to stop the killer. Same with Beddy. Peter was directly on front of Sam and so was in the way.

I read Fear Street books in middle school in the 90s. These movies were so much fun to watch! They aren't based on any specific books, but they do capture the campy horror well.
Speaking of the fact randoms were killed by the killers...maybe it's because they were in the way...? It looks like it doesn't matter if you have Sam's blood on you or not if you stand in their way, they'll just kill you to get to their objective...🤔 That may be why Kate, Josh and Simon weren't stabbed in the hospital cuz they weren't in the way like the killer could easily walk past them...unlike Peter, who was standing in front of Sam's room entrance, and the nurse guy, who stood in front of the killer ( I don't know about the nurse lady, maybe she tried to talk to them like the nurse guy did)...At least that's what it seems like to me lol

@@bbylenneee6971 Except she never really hated her, geez you're acting like you never seen how people act when they break up. You can see she was just hurt and mad at her, not like actual deep hate. Even the note at the end of part 1 shows this, Deena scratched all the previous messages to write how she really felt about Sam. So of course it makes sense that she'd put everything in line to save her. Also this Sam slander never made sense, Kate and the other dude could have just cleaned up, left and went home if they wanted to, the killers wouldn't have chased them. They didn't have to be around Sam or try to sacrifice her. Either way I think Deena and her brother would have still stayed to help her.

My pet peeve with this franchise is 1) they didn’t get a damn water bottle with fhe pills or tried swallowing one by one. It was very obvious it wasnt gonna work. 2) choosing a gf vs both ur best friends. Could never be me. Like yes for love i would try and help and sacrifice myself. But completely sacrificing all my friends like that? Nah. That’s why i like part 2 and 3 more. Future lesbians in the films are my fave (won’t say who to not spoil).

As I watched this all I was thinking was "We're all dying to protect her girlfriend"? Nah, I'm good lol The writing is bad but it's a decent slasher

Like when the killers murdered random ppl at the hospital but walked right by our crew or the fact that the tiny bit of blood is even enough to distract them when we've seen her nose bleed at several different locations. The romance is just plain bad between the characters and no one is going to risk their life against supernatural creatures for their friends girlfriend. The next movie is better but even that has a lot of flaws. I mean, you aren't surviving that many stab wounds, paramedics aren't miracle workers. But like I said it's a slasher movie so writing isn't high up on the list of priorities.

Yea it sucks that the worst movie had the most traumatic deaths as if that’s what makes a horror movie good lol and main character pisses me off, she doesn’t deserve Sam and honestly got on my nerves which is why I hate sitting thru this movie but also for druggies they really couldn’t think of a way for Sam to die easily? Could’ve just smashed up the fucking pills and have her take em that way smh, literally the most peaceful way to go but sure just have her choke em down then drown her after. Such a joke lol and literally nobody in any scary movie despite how bad says “fuck it, I’m dying one way or another” 🤣
I don’t usually watch any of the Netflix original movies cause there usually mediocre in my opinion I thought this was the same but then again I kinda don’t like horror but I’m glad zuff likes the film don’t mind if you continue these movies but I hope you react to more thrillers and dramas in your next movie weeks as o prefer those genres overall great reaction
I feel like such an outlier because I couldn't stand this movie lol. The only one I liked was the brother, he was the only sensible, rational, not filled with drama and angst character, just could not enjoy the film. Not even Sadie Sink could draw me into watching the others. Glad so many people enjoyed it though, could bring in some other R.L Stines work to life, maybe even bring back the Goosebumps TV show ahhh
lol you're not alone. I think ppl mostly got into the teen romance, the writing is pretty bad but the gore makes it bearable.

I'm okay with drama if the story was good, but not this lol, Mayas immediate death at the beginning did completely throw me off, like WAT, thats all I get, damn.

The teen romance part is the part I didn’t care about. What makes me like the movie is deaths and the storyline. I don’t take the characters too seriously since these movies are meant to be very cheesy.
