The actress playing Cynthia Rose is Grammy nominated songwriter, Ester Dean, who has composed a lot famous songs for a lot of big artist (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Usher...etc).
The feeling of being choked up or wanting to cry at stuff like this is called collective effervescence! When people are together for positive shared purpose! It’s why stuff like parades make some people emotional lol
"you can't talk to him, he's my ex" WILD true life prediction there, considering the actors that play Jesse and Aubrey met on this film, dated, married, and have since divorced
This movie is so 2012 but so iconic 😂 I was in choir in high school and this movie was everything to us, I remember we took a field trip to see the 2nd movie in theaters!
@@Prof.SeverusSnape Two weeks early access. I was JUST as confused as you a second ago lmfao. But i looked at the oldest comments by changing the filter to newest first and then scrolling all the way down.
sorry i can't get over the "that's mel gibson.🙂" "no.😑" and bryce's laugh 🤭 haha that was too good love the reaction as always! the sing-alongs were great too kdjfksdf this movie is super fun
you guys being surprised and excited by how great benji is at singing was adorable. when i first watched the movie and saw ben platt i went crazy cause that’s a broadway performer right there so i knew he’d eventually have his chance to shine, and that performance wasn’t even all that when it comes to what he can do vocally
The technical definition of musical is "a performance that involves music, singing, and sometimes dancing as integral to the plot". So this movie is technically a musical
Great reaction guys! They went all out casting legit singers for this movie, so it was funny seeing your surprise that everyone was actually really good. Notably, the actors who play Jesse and Benji are Broadway performers, so definitely top tier talent.
I remember watching this movie at the theater with my cousins and the Bellas performing at the end was so good everyone in the theatre starting clapping like we forgot we were watching a movie. It was awesome
Even though Aubrey is kind of unbearable, I always felt for her. She feels responsible for ruining their chances the year before and has huge shoes to fill (not to mention some clear daddy issues) and now some girl who has shown open contempt for a thing that you care a lot about is telling you that you suck at your job. I would probably not have been chill either.
"And then they start kissing" literally so many people ship Beca and Chloe, Zuff caught it right away. Can't wait for the second movie, think I actually like it better than the first!
You guys are always so positive and enjoy whatever you’re watching. I love that! Some channels get so negative or nitpick everything which kinda ruins the fun of someone watching something you like! Can’t wait for the rest of movie week!
The lady commentating at the competitions is Elizabeth Banks , she produced the movie too. The actress who plays Jessica (one of the "who are they" girls) is Kelly Jackle, singer/songwriter . They put her in the back to give tips and to harmonize with the main characters.
this movie gives me so many memories. I watched it at my best friend's house on a laptop in like 2012 or 2013, pausing it whenever her parents came by bc it was such a big deal for us. It was the first "mature" film I ever saw without parent permission. We were 12 and *such* rebels.
"I used to go to the Empire state building and jam to this" while Starships is playing lol. I swear the highlight of most your movie reactions is Zuff saying the most random things and you two just being like "Wait what? Anyways..." lmao.
Ben Platt’s voice singing Magic is honestly just that, magic. So smooth and beautiful, and when you consider the lyrics basically saying he’s a good singer it’s perfect.
The treblemakers final performance is my favorite from this movie too. I love Ben Platt as an actor/singer and I love his character, Benji, too. He is sooooo talented. One of the best singers of our generation imo. He became an even better singer after this movie because he went on broadway. So i just absolutely love his preformance in this movie. It launched his career to a new level.
As someone who has been in a few school acapella groups, I love participating in riff-offs. The way we would do them is we would split into 2 teams and we would go against each other. It would start off sort of like Encore, which is the Song Association Game in a team, but we'd do it like a riff-off after the run with the word we were given. It's so much fun!
the cup song was actually a combination of 1928’s “will you miss me when i’m gone?” and the cup game from around 2008, combined and made for anna to perform for this song!
That whole shower scene is so freaking funny. It's one of those things that is so beyond awkward that you just kind of have to stare and then laugh it off. This is just a fun movie.
your reactions always feels like watching a move with friends, i really hope to see you guys react to the next pitch perfect movies, this was so much fun to watch!!
I have absolutely loved the movie weeks thank you guys for all the hard work you put in over the past year of movies and hopefully to another great year of movie reactions love the reaction to this classic
dude on the left, i’m with you on the crying. after the bella’s last performance, when it shows becas dad screaming “way to go, beca!” i got teary-eyed
fun fact! during the riff off when they started to sing s&m by rihanna, cynthia rose’s actress, ester dean, actually wrote that song FOR rihanna! so it’s a little easter egg that they had her perform the song she wrote!
i heard the artists of the music that came out in 2012 sent the music to the creators of the movies before release so that the movie would come out with current (at the time) hits on the soundtrack - bc they started filming the movie prior to the songs coming out
Thank you guys for actually having fun with the reactions to these movies. It's so much more interesting than just being quiet and making a small comment every now and then.
So nostalgic for me. This was kinda my first movie that I watched with more “adult” humor and content that I wouldn’t have gotten if I was a little bit younger when it came out. I don’t think this will ever get old.
This movie helped me through a rough time in my life. It just gave me so much joy at a point where I needed levity and a feel good ending. I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this! 😍
Woah, do I feel old. This came out when I was in the middle of my Master's program. It's my second favorite movie of all time. It's such a high and I love seeing others get that feeling of watching it for the first time. This is the third reaction I watch. So many actors from this movie got their careers catapulted from it. Anna said in an interview she saw someone do the cup thing and she thought it was cool, so she learned it and they used it in the movie because, I believe, she used it during her audition.
Fun fact: Freddie Stroma, the actor who plays Luke (the Radio DJ guy), also plays Prince Friedrich in Bridgerton Season 1. This reaction made me laugh SO much! Can't wait for the rest of Movie Week!
fun fact, Anna Kendrick (who played becka) actually auditioned with the cup song because she learned it a long time before the movie, and the producers liked it so much that they added it to the movie! Before her audition they were going to have becka sing "im a little teacup" lmao
Thanks for the hard work getting these reactions out! Also it sounds like we need Star Wars reactions?? I definitely thought you all would have seen them but would love to see reactions to them!!
This was prob my favorite video from you guys so far. Y’all were having so much fun watching this one and it was fun to watch y’all have fun. The editing was top notch and watching y’all not being able to handle the cringe as per usual was so funny too. Y’all ripping on zuff was funny too but man’s was just tryna feel his feels lolololol. I can’t wait for the next ones. I think this pitch perfect is my favorite but the next ones are still fun.
I love how much fun you guys had watching this movie! Pitch Perfect was THE movie I watched at the time I was growing up from a teenager into adulthood, so it imprinted onto my soul. I can't wait to watch you guys react to the 2nd and 3rd movies in this movie series!!!!!!
The guys playing Jesse and Benji have been in broadway productions (Spring Awakening and Dear Evan Hansen), if you find a recording somewhere you should reallt check it out. Beautiful performances!
If you guys really love Anna Kendrick singing I suggest The Last Five Years.. one of my favourite musicals, VERY different vibes than this though. Also the Into the Woods movie.

The actress playing Cynthia Rose is Grammy nominated songwriter, Ester Dean, who has composed a lot famous songs for a lot of big artist (Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ciara, Usher...etc).
Like the song she sang during the riff off😂
The comment I was looking for.
Including S&M which they sang in the Riff Off
Wait…. Fr? Omgg I always knew who ester was and I’ve watched this movie soo many times and never once realized it’s was her 😃
Wow that's Ester Dean i have watch this and i didn't know it was her.
The feeling of being choked up or wanting to cry at stuff like this is called collective effervescence! When people are together for positive shared purpose! It’s why stuff like parades make some people emotional lol
Concerts!! 💜
ive been trying to figure this out for so long! ive cried at my highschool football games 😭
@@rosyellis14 Lol. Go to a live concert...way better
Totally!!
I didn't know this had a name! it happens to me wayy too much.
The actress who played Cynthia Rose actually wrote S&M as performed by Rhianna!
"you can't talk to him, he's my ex" WILD true life prediction there, considering the actors that play Jesse and Aubrey met on this film, dated, married, and have since divorced
Omg that’s so true lol
omg they divored????? i had no clue
and this is how i found out that they're already divorced... 🙃
Oh wow :0
they divorced??? i thought they we’re still together
This movie is so 2012 but so iconic 😂 I was in choir in high school and this movie was everything to us, I remember we took a field trip to see the 2nd movie in theaters!

One of the most underrated parts of this video has to be at 54:28 when Zuff says "grab somebody sexy" and Bryce grabs Rob's shoulder! 😄
Rob's reaction to Beca in the riff-off was my exact reaction. I had to cover my eyes from that display.
It's not a musical. It's a movie with music. Massive difference. A musical uses music to replace dialogue that reveals story and furthers the plot.
Perfectly said.
ok 🤓🤓

The top two comments right here, people. So lovely. ❤

21:02 the guy in the blue just casually admitting that and the other guy going “what?” Is way too funny and he just carried on like he heard nothing
