Ive looked up jobs for the Air National Guard. They have one job that requires a TOP SECRET security clearance and you have to pass a polygraph exam

I got contacted by an investigator who said everyone in the military requires a secret security clearance , and I picked a mos that doesn’t require one , 68w. This completely shocked me, do you think he’s legitimate

My issue is. I formerly (Less than 6 months ago) smoked Marijuana and would be considered a frequent user. Could I still get a TS with that being the case or waiting 6 month etc if that is a thing?

I just met with my investigator not too long ago. He basically went over the entire security questionnaire and asked me more in depth questions about my parents because they aren’t American born. But other than that it went well

It's not usual to do so, but it's always possible. Best practice is to keep your profile on private. Most of the investigation consists of background checks and interviewing friends and family to determine your moral character.

What of people who volunteer for subs? Can people go to boot camp, get naturalized then get a clearance?

You don't need to be naturalized to get a Clearance, but yes you can get it while In Boot Camp

Yes. There are several jobs that do not require any clearance.

No. You get paid based on rank and time in service.

Not for a security clearance. However M.E.P.S or bootcamp medical may request them if they believe that you may have omitted something, i.e scars from past surgeries.
