    i met an investigator, she was a nice lady who said there's just a few chronological things to clear up, and i should go out for dinner that night. It was a massive relief. The process sucks but if you're a reasonable person, there's nothing to worry about.

      you still put them but you can put notations. I had to make up a name for my father for instance because father is required and i have never met or seen mine. also not on birth cert so just said no father as his name and notated as such. did not get yelled at for that. the forms are super dated they will understand long as you arnt lying.

      Some jobs require different levels of clearance. Getting into the military is just a general clearance like one they would do at a job. While some jobs in the military require you to get a top secret clearance. Which is like them looking and knowing everything about you, from the suspension you got in 1st grade, to your grandparents elementary school.

    Question does security clearance in the AF look into medical records etc? Any kind of hospital related things? Because i was at one just because i needed a place to stay. Was homeless and i didnt fit the criteria to be there so was given the option to leave. But if i did i was going to be on the street. So they asked if they could help me with some kind of resources and arrangements and try to get ahold of any family. So i stayed just because they were going to try to help me find a place or contact family. Is that going to be an issue? I would be heart broken if i get to BMT and get some kind of discharge. Or would they hear my case and judge? Any advice would be great. I'm getting my mouth and cavities fixed just to be able to join and it's alot of money

    • @Sk8Gnarley

      Scumbag Jay no you should be fine that doesn’t sounds like anything. They typically care about things that have been diagnosed, or mental issues. They also do private like background investigations and we don’t know what they investigate but that really doesn’t sounds disqualifying. That is my opinion though and im not then but to be honest I wouldnt even mention it because its not even really a situation it sounds just like a place to crash

    This was a really interesting video. Just a little background on me. I may have mentioned this before on comments for a previous video. I went to BMT December 2015. I ended up getting an honorable discharge while in BMT due to anxiety and depression issues that came up. I was going to be enlisting in Client Systems, which I was super excited for. Since I had graduated college with a degree in Geography I was super interested in Geospatial Intel as a #1 job and Weather as a #2 job. I am from the St. Louis area so it's great to see you're at Scott AFB. I attended a junior college right by Scott AFB. I am now trying to work my way on the civilian side to get a job similar to the Air Force Geospatial Intel position. I am currently working as a Geospatial Technician with a company that contracts out work for the NGA, and I am hoping to possibly get on with the NGA at their St. Louis headquarters office and their great new upcoming north St. Louis complex in the Geospatial Intel field. It was great to hear about your TS clearance process. It's really interesting.

    • @andikav338
      @andikav338 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      When you fill out your security form and have your interview with your background investigator, it is best to come clean at that time. Later as you progress in your career, you will encounter some positions that may require you to undergo a polygraph examination. You don’t want to have problems during your polygraph examination because you are withholding information or maintaining a lie. You also don’t want to encounter a situation where you’re having to come clean about a lie you put on an earlier security form. That will definitely disqualify you from getting a renewal clearance. Because you will be considered untrustworthy. These kinda lies tend to snowball, the longer you keep them.

I’m not worried about it, it’s just that at MEPS they make you spread your legs in front of a lady and it’s just so much lol i was wondering if that would happen again. • @j12mkx1
      @j12mkx1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The investigator/agent conducting your investigation will not have you take a drug test. Keep in mind they do not work for the military. Your recruiter or meps may ask you to take a drug test, but the investigating agency will not. Drug use is a topic of concern on the SF86, however, so you will need to answer the question appropriately when it asks about drug use.

    Hi I know you posted this a long time ago but I just enlisted into the Navy and I picked a job that requires a top security clearance and I’m scared. I haven’t done any drugs or get in trouble with the law. However, I’m scared I may not be able to keep the job i picked because of some bills I owe but can’t afford so I believe that makes my credit real shitty. Also I didn’t put down on my background form at the recruiters office that I got fired from 2 of my jobs before and that when they ask my previous employers if I got fired, etc they are going to say yes so now will I get in trouble? Or if they call me do I still get a chance to be honest? With the financial part can they see where you owe money to? Like the exact places? Also do they check your medical records? I’m assuming no since that’s against HIPPA regulations.

      I wish that I had more info for you but tbh its really on a case by case basis for everyone because everyone has different situations ya know, I think they can see if things went to collections, and they might find out about the jobs? depends on what your investigator finds ya know, I would say don't worry about it too much, there's really nothing you can do because it's up to them, so what's the point of stressing about it ya know? just do your best

      @j12mkx1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lachlanmaxwell8767 both are areas of concern when it comes to the clearance process. If it's a TS you're going for, you will definitely need to provide documentation regarding the debts. Also it's best to get some sort of payment plan going to show you are trying to remedy your debts. Finances are the #1 reason a clearance will get denied, so make sure you have something in place showing you are working to pay them off.
      As for the employments, they will definitely need to talk to someone who knows about the incidents.
      For a Secret clearance, it's a lot more lenient. Just depends on what type of clearance you need
