While Calculating the dead load of steps you have taken 1 m for 1/2 * base * height, base and height should be the riser and tread of the steps right?? 1/2*0.23*0.17 should be the formula i think.

load is considered Per metre as it is uniform, so we take base as 1 metre and the height as riser

Sir , Can you please explain why the result is different for the building with stair modelled as shell than the building in which stair load is calculated and applied as frame load? Which method is correct approach for designing?

With staircase modeling, stairs contribute to the structural lateral stiffness,hence lateral stiffness increases much in the direction along the stairs arranged. And considering complexity of modal participation of staircase, it is better to consider staircase model in structural analysis particularly for Nepal as it is a seismic prone region.

@@civilconst but while modeling the staircase, the staircase load is not transferred to the beam at landing portion (in your case grid D-D) and all load is transferred to floor beam at grid C-C or to the column directly ( if you join the landing slab to column) . this will alter the design result.
