My favorite one shot Batman villains: -Mr. Whisper from Batman: Gothic -The father from the _See No Evil_ episode of Batman TAS -Adam Lamb/The Wolf. Golden age characters. Adam Lamb is a mild mannered museum employee who suffers a head injury falling down the stairs. At night he develops a split personality as a crime lord known as The Wolf. These Jekyll and Hyde characters have no awareness of each other. The two die at the end of the story. (I believe falling down the same stairs.) -The Ugliest Man in the World, another Golden Age character who died at the end of his story. He was a handsome college student who was disfigured from an injection of a random chemical cocktail during a hazing ritual and becomes the ugliest man in the world. To lash out at this he starts destroying things deemed beautiful such as vandalizing museums by smashing all the statues and slashing and burning the art and murdering supermodels. Ironically after his death, Batman and Robin discover his condition was easily reversible. -Clubfoot, a monstrous hulking con with a long rap sheet who was revealed to be a red herring in his only appearance. Also from the Golden Age. Honorary Mention: Paul Sloan as the Charlatan. A gifted actor hired by Batman’s Rogues Gallery to play Two-Face when Dent flips a coin on the good side and decides to sit out a Rogue team up plot. Two Face is enraged upon discovering this and brutally tortures and removes his face. I liked the concept that he is a master of disguise and gifted actor created by Batman’s entire rogues gallery. I have never seen him in another story since, but he may not qualify as a one shot villain because Paul Sloan*e* is a pre-existing silver/bronze age character who was a TV actor who played Harvey Dent in a movie who was disfigured by the same acid by an act of sabotage and became the second Two-Face during a period (Decades. Really.) where Harvey Dent truly reformed. Brubaker and Ruckas Batman runs were severely underrated.

Attacking Bulldog I kinda wish Scarface and Killer Doll teamed up to fight Batman. The ventriloquist would find the Killer Doll and have it be another personality and would be Scarface's best friend. That would be kinda cool

There was one that was interesting. I forget what Batman issues he's from but the sort of moniker he is given is when Batsy catches up with him and calls him a Ghoul. The villain in question was the son of an undertaker who robbed graves for their bones which he then made into art pieces. This was a two parter I believe which ended with a report that the villain killing himself by ingesting chicken bones. An interesting one shot rogue to say the very least.
I'd love to see a redone version of Manikin, where the suit was made to compress her body, so she would become as physically thin as possible. Allowing Fashion Designers to have their perfect models. Wearing fake skin and hair like a Barbie Doll, decorating her as they please. But, having her only agree so other models won't be forced to be as thin as her. Starving themselves to death just to achieve what she had. But this doesn't stop Fashion Designers encouraging more young women to go even further. So, she goes after them, acting as a Golden Serial Killer, so no one else must starve themselves to that point.
That mannequin tale had me spooked as a kid. Newton's art and Adkins inks were that great. And it was preceded by the werewolf tale in Alaska. Comics were so good once.
I am a fan of Atomic-Man myself, though I always felt like he needs a Rogues-Gallery Transplant into either Firestorm or Captain Atom's rogues gallery if he made his return.

I've emailed Gail over tumblr but she never responded. It kind of looks like Riddler since Sue Dibney was around him except imprisonment has never been his thing so I don't know.

Old video, but one of my favorites will always be Facade from Detective Comics #821, by Dini and Williams. Amazing artwork, an amazing story, and great villain. Also, The Eraser from Batman #188 is gloriously Silver Age greatness.

I like how u pronounce Monk(Moench) and Novick. As a young boy when i read tge Mannequin story, Newton and Adkins art and Roy's coloring made me scared to walk into a dark room. Still holds up today.
That murderous doll makes me think of Wesker and Scarface. Sometimes I wonder if Wesker was suppressing his violent tendencies and displaying them the through the doll, or if the doll somehow forced Wesker to become violent through supernatural methods.
I loved seeing the Mime in the Lego Batman Movie. Speaking of weird villains that also appeared in the movie I would love a video about the Zodiac Master.
There was a collection of short stories (prose, not comics) starring the Joker that was released in conjunction with the first Michael Keaton Batman movie. In one of those stories, he falls for the Mime. After a few capers, it becomes clear that she can't stand the fact that he won't shut up.

It’s interesting that many of these one shot villains appear to be precursors to other villains. Crash and Burn feel like the couple from Natural Born Killers. Faceless Man is a lot like Jane Doe and the Identity Theft mission from Arkham. The Killer Doll is a lot like Chucky from Child’s Play. Manikin feels a lot like Calendar Girl from Batman TAS. The Mime well...feels a lot like...
The Mime did technically appear again outside of comics in The Farther Adventures of the Batman story "The Sound of One Hand Clapping" where the Joker falls in love with her and kidnaps her.
Faceless and Manikin feel like they have potential for more stories, but I can understand leaving them as oneshot villains. Mime if she ever got brought back could probably do well as a wholly silent villain. Maybe add more to the mime theme by having them be born a mute or lose their voice which leads to their interest in Mimes? Maybe go with a bit of Professor Pyg and Mad Hatter and have her mutilate her victims to make them silent and employing mind control to force them to serve her in silence? Though that might be a bit too grim and unnecessary and betray her character.
I like most of these, but I don’t know if too many of them would be on my list. Mine would look something like this (although maybe not exactly): 1. Judson “Skel” Pierce 2. The Gold-Coin Killer 3. The Mannequin 4. Doctor No-Face 5. Faceless Just as a side note, I do feel like the Mannequin and maybe Faceless could make a comeback. Faceless is similar to Jane Doe, but I honestly like Faceless more. Those 2 feel like they could be used again. And then there’s the others. I don’t really care about Crash and Burn, plus they work fine in that one story. It says all you need to know about them. You could bring them back and I guess it could be okay, but somehow I doubt it would be worth it. The Killer Doll is probably the only one I’d say 100% should never return. The best part about the “character” is that you aren’t sure if it’s really alive or not. If they brought it back, they would probably explain everything, which is a big no-no. If they didn’t, it would probably be a really similar to the first story. Plus, they killed off Adam Cornelius, so how would they do it? The Mime I’m not sure about. I feel like she could work, but maybe not. The first story sounds fine, but somehow I feel like she could be used for more. I guess I’m fine with her staying a one-shot rogue.
I have four of the comics in this video, the only one i don’t have is the faceless two-parter, I have read it online though. Also i remember seeing the villain at 0:56 in a comic online, he appeared in batman #265.
Crash and Burn are my favorites hands down. The Mime is really cool too but I love Crash and Burn because of how crazy they are and their relationship is really interesting in a psychotic way. They really need to appear again. I wouldn't mind seeing The Mime again either. Although C&B are my favorites from this list The Mime is by far the most interesting.
Recently, DC released the series The Silencer, about a retired assassin who has the ability to mute the sound around him. That would be good power for the Mime if she returned.
Know what? She cfould work as a big time rogue. Just give her the power of sound removal and she'd be deadly as heck. I thought of this when you mentioned a silent gun. Batman needs to be silent and sneak around at night so a rogue who can remove sound would be like Scarecrow's fear contrasting Batmans use of it. As for the mannequin you couldnt have said it any better. She's horrendously scarred that i think even TAS Clayface would take pity on her. These would be very interesting rogues to bring back honestly.
5 : Crash and Burn - They could come back, but, again, it would be an intentional one-shot, as, in a dark story, they'd pull a Thelma and Louise, and drive off a cliff, or into an explosion, or whatever, rather than face arrest and capture. More an retelling of their meeting and brief crime spree than a 'return' 4 : The Doll - Eh, he could come back, but I don;t see a need; he filled his role in a fun and impressively creepy way, for the era. If he had to come back, I'd have Scarface find the controls for the mechanical doll, and maybe even keep the twist that, just once , it breaks routine and speaks something original. Is Wesker just giving him a persona, or was it mystically alive? 3 : Faceless - His faceless gimmick is pretty redundant in comics, but, the specific insanity, feeling unknown and unmemorable; he'd fit in quite well with the murderous psychotics of Arkham. Imagine if Zsazs targeted him; he'd have a short term new friend who not only recognizes him as a person, but actively hunts him down. Of course, he doesn't want to die, but, I could see Faceless wanting to keep him alive so he keeps his beseemed 'fan'. 2 : Mannequin - Don;t bring her back. She was perfect in her one story; she's not a career criminal. She wants revenge on whomever ruined her life and career. 1 : The Mime - I got nothing. No matter what you do to write her, the mime stigma is just going to overshadow everything. Clowns can be scary, but, Mimes are a universal annoyance. Batman does best with realistic villains he can use his detective skills in normal mortal ways, but, if she got the ability to cause silence, or steal voices, maybe there could be a niche for her.
I'm sure what I had to say about these guys pretty much sums it up, Crash and Burn are like Gotham's Bonnie and Clyde, the killer doll is most likely what inspired the making of *Child's Play*, which was remade last year, one might remember Faceless from the Arrowverse, Mannequin gives others like her a run for their money, and the Mime is like the Joker's silent female counterpart
the mime is not really a one shot batman villain because she had appeared in Arkham asylum living hell and she is coming back in batgirl issue 8 in April 2017 and lady clayface will be in this issue
Well the Living Hell appearance was just a tiny cameo, I had never even noticed her in there until I looked it up on ComicVine. But if she's comming back in Batgirl in a bigger role I guess she wont be a One Shot villain anymore.
I dunno if there's room for a 2nd Jester type woman in modern DC but The Mime has a solid gimmick. And as long as we already got super science involved in Mannequin's origin story why don't she got like an army of Manequin robot henchbots. She reminds me of Calendar Girl from Batman TAS. Origin in fashion, obsessed with looks, deformed by accident, I think. But there the twist is, she wasn't as deformed as she thought. Think that was also a 1 shot, but maybe not.
"The Wrath"-Literally an "anti-Batman". A young boy who saw his small-time criminal parents killed by the police. He dedicates himself to taking vengence on the forces of the law, even adopting a costume similar to Batman's. He was killed in his first appearance, "The Player for the Other Side" Batman Special ). His mantle was taken up by another but the original was a one-shot villain.
I am familiar with all of these rogues...in-name only, I'm afraid. I've read the comics featuring Manikin and Killer Doll before, but the others? I've only heard about them. I do eventually plan to track down a list of all the comics that feature either a one-shot or a forgotten Bat-Rogue so I can learn about all of them, but that'll have to wait.
Thanks, and yeah, it would be. I'm reading all the way through the pre-New 52 Batman comics now, so I'll probably find a lot of weird and wonderful one-shots. (Clubfoot, Puppet Master and The Ugliest Man in The World have all been weird and interesting so far)

Yeah Batman's serial killer villains always appealed to me for some reason.
You have to cover all of the three ventriloquists, they are creepy yet awesome to read about.
Three? I can only name two: Arnold Wesker and Peyton Reiley, who took up the puppet after Wesker was killed way back in _Face to Face._

My choice would be Saul Calvino nicknamed Stiletto a complex and very likable character. A Hitman that only took contracts on gangsters.

I have four of the comics in this video, the only one i don’t have is the faceless two-parter, I have read it online though. Also i remember seeing the villain at 0:56 in a comic online, he appeared in batman #265.
Mime resembles Punchline, the new sidekick of The Joker from Batman: The Joker Wars.
Crash and Burn are my favorites hands down. The Mime is really cool too but I love Crash and Burn because of how crazy they are and their relationship is really interesting in a psychotic way. They really need to appear again.
I wouldn't mind seeing The Mime again either. Although C&B are my favorites from this list The Mime is by far the most interesting.
Recently, DC released the series The Silencer, about a retired assassin who has the ability to mute the sound around him. That would be good power for the Mime if she returned.
Know what? She cfould work as a big time rogue. Just give her the power of sound removal and she'd be deadly as heck. I thought of this when you mentioned a silent gun. Batman needs to be silent and sneak around at night so a rogue who can remove sound would be like Scarecrow's fear contrasting Batmans use of it.
As for the mannequin you couldnt have said it any better. She's horrendously scarred that i think even TAS Clayface would take pity on her. These would be very interesting rogues to bring back honestly.

Another interesting one shot villain is Abbaitor. (I probably spelled that wrong.)
Actually he appeared in a few more stories in the 90s. He was killed by Azrael during KnightsQuest. Will most likely do a video on him.

5 : Crash and Burn - They could come back, but, again, it would be an intentional one-shot, as, in a dark story, they'd pull a Thelma and Louise, and drive off a cliff, or into an explosion, or whatever, rather than face arrest and capture. More an retelling of their meeting and brief crime spree than a 'return'
4 : The Doll - Eh, he could come back, but I don;t see a need; he filled his role in a fun and impressively creepy way, for the era. If he had to come back, I'd have Scarface find the controls for the mechanical doll, and maybe even keep the twist that, just once , it breaks routine and speaks something original. Is Wesker just giving him a persona, or was it mystically alive?
3 : Faceless - His faceless gimmick is pretty redundant in comics, but, the specific insanity, feeling unknown and unmemorable; he'd fit in quite well with the murderous psychotics of Arkham. Imagine if Zsazs targeted him; he'd have a short term new friend who not only recognizes him as a person, but actively hunts him down. Of course, he doesn't want to die, but, I could see Faceless wanting to keep him alive so he keeps his beseemed 'fan'.
2 : Mannequin - Don;t bring her back. She was perfect in her one story; she's not a career criminal. She wants revenge on whomever ruined her life and career.
1 : The Mime - I got nothing. No matter what you do to write her, the mime stigma is just going to overshadow everything. Clowns can be scary, but, Mimes are a universal annoyance. Batman does best with realistic villains he can use his detective skills in normal mortal ways, but, if she got the ability to cause silence, or steal voices, maybe there could be a niche for her.
I'm sure what I had to say about these guys pretty much sums it up, Crash and Burn are like Gotham's Bonnie and Clyde, the killer doll is most likely what inspired the making of *Child's Play*, which was remade last year, one might remember Faceless from the Arrowverse, Mannequin gives others like her a run for their money, and the Mime is like the Joker's silent female counterpart

the mime is not really a one shot batman villain because she had appeared in Arkham asylum living hell and she is coming back in batgirl issue 8 in April 2017 and lady clayface will be in this issue
Well the Living Hell appearance was just a tiny cameo, I had never even noticed her in there until I looked it up on ComicVine. But if she's comming back in Batgirl in a bigger role I guess she wont be a One Shot villain anymore.

Narcosis is the first one shot villain that I read. He’s in two comics, one story and has a backstory but no real name.
I dunno if there's room for a 2nd Jester type woman in modern DC but The Mime has a solid gimmick.
And as long as we already got super science involved in Mannequin's origin story why don't she got like an army of Manequin robot henchbots.
She reminds me of Calendar Girl from Batman TAS. Origin in fashion, obsessed with looks, deformed by accident, I think. But there the twist is, she wasn't as deformed as she thought.
Think that was also a 1 shot, but maybe not.

"The Wrath"-Literally an "anti-Batman". A young boy who saw his small-time criminal parents killed by the police. He dedicates himself to taking vengence on the forces of the law, even adopting a costume similar to Batman's. He was killed in his first appearance, "The Player for the Other Side" Batman Special ). His mantle was taken up by another but the original was a one-shot villain.
I almost wish DC had gone back at one point and let Michael Golden or Arthur Adams redraw the part of that story Mike DeCarlo had drawn.

My favorite oneshot villain was the original reaper, a sympathetic survivor of a concentration camp who wanted to kill the man who put him there.
He actuallly returned much later, so he's not a one-shot villain any longer.
I am familiar with all of these rogues...in-name only, I'm afraid. I've read the comics featuring Manikin and Killer Doll before, but the others? I've only heard about them. I do eventually plan to track down a list of all the comics that feature either a one-shot or a forgotten Bat-Rogue so I can learn about all of them, but that'll have to wait.

Thanks, and yeah, it would be. I'm reading all the way through the pre-New 52 Batman comics now, so I'll probably find a lot of weird and wonderful one-shots. (Clubfoot, Puppet Master and The Ugliest Man in The World have all been weird and interesting so far)
