Large battery in an APC can charge at a wattage very close to 5kw, which is why the cable blew out. Same for Nuclear batteries, which charges at an even higher wattage rate. By using only small batteries in the APC, and every other battery in a dedicated charger (which seems to have some internal transformer going), atleast to a point, the cables shouldn't blow (I still blew out 5kw cables, after some brown-outs and a station battery top-up, by charging 4 Nuclear and 1 large in one battery charger, and some logics, all connected the same way as here: no transformers, just directly off a station battery) Edit: And if the charger is bugged, or some settings on it have been altered, that doesn't help a 5kw wire either 🤣 Large battery takes ages in a small charger, not 8% in 4seconds 😅
APCs are supposed to be limited to 1kw charging. I'm guessing something broke in one of the more recent updates? Edit- Ah, guess I should have kept reading the comments. I guess I missed the part where he was using a power/charging mod. I didn't realize the Solar Irradiance mod changed a bunch of the other power related devices.
for the air lock use a press pad or player sensor for automating it , use player sensor in every room to save power by checking if player in the area turn on light/printers, if not turn off with an if for printers if they are printing dont turn that one off
Oh! This is a good idea. I setup a semi-auto crafting script tonautomate all of my crafters and it uses stackers to set the amount to be crafted then stops crafting when the number is reached. I think I could easily integrate your suggestion into my existing script.
I was scratching my head.. thought it might be the APC used for charging since they don't limit power. I think it would be nice if Rocketwerkz would upgrade the power calculations for cables.. it makes no sense that cables blow up all over the place, they should only blow in the high current (overloaded) path... so in this case only between the station battery and the battery charger. Thanks Mick, Nice episode as always !!
Never surprised by the number of people who don't read the video description. 😂 Also in that regard, it appears as though Mick may be a somewhat slower typist like me, and thus thinks much faster than can type which commonly results in omitted/missed words when typing, "[...] and make the habitable." 😂 I do that all the time. Cheers!
I usually have one hand type faster than the other. So all of the letters from my right hand will type before the letters from my left hand so the letters are often in the wrong order.
look to outputcable stationbattery and outputcable APC, don't connect them together. and from stationbattery to APC a heavy cable is good for safety energy transfer.
The corners are exposed to the outside. There was an entry in the patch notes saying the partially exposed pipes have been fixed but I havent checked so i am just being careful.
false, the APC is suppose to only charge at 1kW and the small charger at 500W. hes well below what should be able to blow the cables. Its the mod hes using for his solar panels that is also changing how fast the chargers work.
Hey Mick, explosive mining is a thing now. Using mining charges makes mining 10x faster. You should look into them. Not terribly expensive to make and worth their weight in gold, copper, etc...
@cowsareevil7514 I haven't tried it on this map. You may have a point. Where does lava begin, though? I have seen some people mine pretty deep into the crevices without trouble where I thought it was lava before finding it too hot to continue downwards.
I highly recommend Jixxed’s mod for the active vents… removes a red colour from one switch and turns it yellow. No more button confusion!
if it's blue, it blues in your face.
Theat sounds like a simple yet brilliant mod

Nope, mod. 1
Hey Mick, great episode! Just wanted to let you know fast chargers are part of the better power mod.
You re still the best teacher for me in this game🎉😊.

I'm not sure if you recreated episode 3 or just reloaded it, but thanks either way.
Brilliant as always.
First four episodes were recorded one after the other without any breaks.
I think cable is burnt because of Irradiation mod which increases battery charging wattage rate
That was my first thought..
Nope, it was the mod. 4
@@cowsareevil7514 Which mod? If not the Irradiation mod?
check the solar IC, maybe it's connection creates a short circuit between input and output staionbattery and/or APC.
Its fairly easy to overload a small cable with a power controller.
It can charge with 5 or 6kw.
Nope, it was the mod. 6

Battery charger and UPS overloads cable.
Nope, it was the mod. 3
Whats up with that fancy piping? Why insulated on edges?
The corners are exposed to the outside. There was an entry in the patch notes saying the partially exposed pipes have been fixed but I havent checked so i am just being careful.
biger cable may help
Nope, it was the mod. 8
Theres nothing wrong with the charger (or APC). You charging battery from bigger battery, so if provider can provide enough power at once, it does.

Mick - The power mod you are using might have changed the way the battery recharger works and maybe the battery itself.
Mod changes the max charger draw to 2500W. 2 chargers = blown cable.
@@cowsareevil7514 I was wondering about it. But I never figure thought it would draw that much power, ouch.

Everything will fall into the lava.

What mods you using and links should be in the description
Battery draw is real, you seems to be blowing the cables when you have a few batteries charging at once
Nope, it was the mod. 2
New phone who did?
