Best Southern Poundcake | My Grandma’s Recipe

- This is my grandma’s unique way of making an old fashioned poundcake.
Ingredients:
2 sticks salted butter room temp
1/2c shortening
3c sugar
2 tsp vanilla
5 eggs room temp
3 cups all purpose flour (sifted)
2tsp baking powder
1/2c + 2 TBSP buttermilk room temp
1/2c + 2 TBSP evaporated milk room temp
*no salt used*
Directions:
Mix sugar, butter, vanilla & shortening together until light & fluffy.
Add eggs 2 at a time, mix after each addition. Add flour alternating with milk.
Butter & flour or use nonstick spray with flour included into a tube pan. Place cake in cold oven and depending on your oven, bake at 325 for 60-75 minutes.

Hi! I used 2 types of milk: 1/2 cup + 2TBSP of each, buttermilk & evaporated milk that should equal 1 1/4 cup. My grandma would use what milk she had on hand and it made the best cake
