People assume you can’t PTFO with bolt-actions and MMGs due to them being hard to do so. It’s definitely possible. I think I would know, considering I’m a PTFO sniper. Muzzle velocities and damage are too much lower than in BF1 to be useful for 200m+ campers. The only thing MMGs are missing is upgrades for improved hipfire. Once that’s in, people might not be compelled to camp just because they like the MG42.

It depends on what you're trying to do, if you're going for suppression, the MG42 is better, but if you're engaging at longer ranges, the VGO is better
I've mastered all the MMGs (The only weapon type that I've completely covered) and I thoroughly believe that the MG-34, M1922 MG and the MG-42 are the only MMGs You should use. All the drawbacks the MG-42 has compared to the VGO can be negated by firing in bursts and using 1.5 zoom, the M1922 is the best overall MMG I feel, and the MG-34 is basically a better Boys.
Those, Shotguns and Carbines are basically all I use in BFV. I just do well with really weird weapons. But it is technically true, because You can't really 'master' any weapon, but I've got a lot of experience with all the MMGs. Gold plated all of them, hated the VGO because it's far to situational to be more effective than the MG-42 is, which is a good all-rounder while favoring close quarters scenarios. The MG-34 being the polar opposite, being able to counter snipe and hold down about 80-90% of an entire lane (It is My go-to gun on Rotterdam, and is pretty good on all the 'sniper' maps, EX. Aerodrome.) The M1922 being middle ground enough to perform both roles well, but being clearly optimized for medium-ranges, they are from My experience, the MMG trifecta, and I will never touch the VGO again, it's borderline bad without specs and is just 'average' with specs, and ends up acting like a low-ammo M1922 because it's ROF and accuracy do a lot to undermine each other. You'd have better luck using the Lewis or even the ZK as an MG, overall.
MMGs, the suppressor against aggressive players, I can't stand them. Basically giving a camper a upper hand over a more skillful players. This is just my opinion so no hate lol, I know some people use them properly, but there's certain players that don't and its a shame.

We need a Combat Role that allows us to use MMGs on the move, with some significant penalty. Standing still in this game is already a great way to get your head blown off, but being close to useless while moving from objective to objective is game-breaking...

I love the MG42, but much like other weapons, I hate how DICE forces you to pick between rate of fire or belt size. On that topic, I'm baffled as to why it's a 50 round belt and not a 50 round drum like it was issued with in its LMG role. Anyways, minor grievances aside, the MAB 38 is similar. You have to choose between a 30 round mag or better accuracy, which is really silly in my opinion. Anyways, great video as always, I'm always looking forward to the next one!

No disrespect, but this has to be the pest comparison I have ever seen. After about an hour or two of playtime, you will have unlock at least two specializations for the mg42. Like the increased rate of fire or the extended belt. Fire rate is everything with this gun and it is extremely accurate whenever I use it
One thing I will mention is the VGOs iron sites are terrible making it very hard to hit things at long ranges unless you use the AA or Reflex site. The problem with that is you don't get the .5x extra zoom which doesn't seem like much but helps more than you would think. The MG-42 has decent iron sites that give you a sharp edged triangle which doesn't block your site picture as much. This one thing makes the MG-42 the better choice for me. That big dot on the VGOs Iron sites is just annoying to me.
When playing Mg42 im always top three of the game, last game i had 50 kills and 12 death. It's just broken, i've turned so many games with it. Played right, these guns have a hell lot of impact on a game.
VGO is, in my opinion, the worst MMG. I do horrible with it, compared to any other MMG. Not sure what it is about it, but yeah, I get wrecked when using it.
Personally i dont use MMGs the way they are meant to be played, hell i dont think i have ever proned with one and I have to agree, all of the others have advantages for that style of play, the 34 has accuracy, the MG42 can shoot at 1200 RPM, the M1922 is a mix with a thicc mag but what does the VGO bring?
The MG34 is great for large maps like Mercury where you can kill people at long range easy. Otherwise the MG42 is just great, I tend to use the MG42 in most cases its just that good

Mistakes were made. VGO has the v-recoil of 0.65 (0.52 with recoil buffer) so it's the more stable gun.
