  • This is Jonah's S15 Spec-R! I've driven/reviewed a bunch of SR20 S-chassis in the past, so this video I just wanted to focus on what the next generation car enthusiasts see in these cars and what they have to offer compared to the traditional "first cars" one might find themselves behind the wheel of at an early age. After chatting with Jonah for a bit, I feel quite a bit of confidence in the next generation of driver's. Do you?

I had my S15 for 2 years and it was absolutely a dream come true, however despite all the JDM cars I've owned, my itch for an R34 never went away. I finally bought my R34 GT which I'll build into a GTT manual and I'm over the moon. It is however, the only car I would have sold the S15 for. That's how much I loved my Silvia. Great, great car <3

I just work up, it's early in New Zealand and I have a coffee in hand......what better way to start the morning, seeing a video upload from Roads Unravelled about the S15 - as an s15 Owner 🏎

Lol. If this kid is bored of this S15 and wants to start a new project, I'll gladly take it off his hands. Name your price.

We had the best cars in the 90's! Everybody wants our cars. Back in the day, nobody wanted to tune 20+ year old cars. Nobody was trynna tune a 78 mustang back in the 90's. 90's kids were all about the cars from our generation.

The S15s are always really nice builds to look at. But honestly, being stateside, having to wait 25 years to try to get one took a lot of the magic out of these. It's probably a truly fantastic machine, but it feels like trying to bag a GTR, EVO, MK4 or something anymore. These already are running $30-40k, in similar condition. Not worth the headache. Cool car though.

I remember as a kid at 13yrs old back in 2003 always reading import tuner and super street magazines I would sometimes see the Nissan s15 Silvia and I always wondered wtf that car was because I had no idea about certain cars not being made in USA except for the R34 GTR and I’ve always been attracted to the s15 Silvia, god I really miss the old days of jdm! The cars we have now are ok but nothing beats 90’s and early 2000’s jdm cars! NOTHING!!!

I always wish preludes were rwd. They look cool.

You don't need to learn in a sim, your bum and the car just work it out, the sr20 is so responsive you can control everything from there.

Silvia’s are so capable as a drivers. They can do any type of driving. Heaps here in Australia doing time attack, drags and of course drifting. Mine is built to a bit of everything, still sr making over 400hp to the tyres.

glad I was able to have this as my first car it’s amazing

I had an Ek4 vtec civic then bought an S15 back in 2011. So i know where he's coming from The Fwd is fun but Rwd and 6spd mt in the S15 is pure driving there is nothing quite like it. Great video

My favorite episode ever❤ I'm a Honda guy too.

Great vid and great car, I've had my S15 for 16 years so know the platform fairly well. Have come close to selling it a few times back when they were fairly worthless (around 2018 spec R price for a rough example sub 7k USD) but will probably hold onto mine long term now. Did swap out the SR20DET for a VQ30DET / CD009 10 years ago which totally transformed the car, would recommend the 6-cylinder treatment for anyone on the fence - totally different beast.

those jdm's actually stopped production because of the change in emission laws back then
