Fined tuned strat. Music to my ears. This setup helped me immensely. Even without the dart traps, i couldn't defeat him at all on ftw. Those imps put all progress to a halt.
On FTW Legendary... it takes a lot more work to prepare this track. - First of all, you need to clear all the blocks under the track, because the Imp's the WOF spawns are special and they can spawn in lava, so you need to clear all blocks where you don't want the Imps to stand on. I also farmed Imp banners but I honestly don't even know if they work on the WOF Imps... - Second, you need to create a floor 7 blocks thick. This floor has to be built at a certain height. I don't know what the minimum height is but I *started* to build mine 180 units from the bottom up (from the floor of the world). I honestly would not go any lower than that. - RAMPS. You need to build ramps at the beginning to squish the eyes together. The ramps need to be around 10 blocks thick horizontally. You need to build a ramp to push the top eye down, but the top ramp can't be too steep. It has to be more horizontal. My bottom ramp was at a 45° angle and my top ramp at a 15° angle roughly (4 blocks horizontal, 1 down). If you don't build the ramps right, the eyes will push through the blocks and wont align properly. - Dart traps. I had to place 16 instead of 8. 8 on each side of the track and I had to activate them so they fire out of sync. Connect them just like in the video. 2 switches on each side of the track. 4 traps per switch. The rest is pretty much the same as in the video, however I will say this; my track had to be SIGNIFICANTLY longer. My track was 1600 long and was barely long enough to finish WOF. That's with Legendary Night's Edge + Stinger/Shark Tooth Necklace + Feral Claws wearing Shadow set. Half accessories rolled to 4% Damage, the other half +4 Defense. I hope this helped anyone else looking at this strategy for their FTW playthrough. It is possible, but takes significantly more work to prepare. Good luck!

If you're having clipping issues with the eyes, try making your ramps less steep. Also make sure the ground and ceiling are thick enough. The ramps have to be thick as well. Also, don't attack the wall until all its parts are aligned, because if it moves too fast while its parts are being squished together on the ramps, they'll clip through. Just summon it, sit on the tracks and wait.
@@AlienFreak69 im doing it wrong on the last part, i attacked the hungry before the eyes and the mouth alligned. Thus the mouth and the eyes wont allign. After that, i tried to wait till the wof passed the ramps, and finally they allign just like on the video. Awesome Thank for the advice too, im currently building the tunnel. Its 2000 block long, trying to compensate for my little dmg
This strat also works surprisingly well on mechdusa. You just need to make the tunnel longer, replace the minecart track with a solid block, add a bunch of doors to the tunnel you’ll run through and remove the dart traps.

kill Duke first and get the buffed aqua scepter. I used it to shred Mehdusa in 20 sec. Duke is not really buffed much, same boss as before, just beefier. I used the spirit flame lamp to kill him. Wasn't hard at all. Maybe if you are doing it in hardcore it would be a bit risky as you can get oneshot in theory. Took me 2 tries to nail it.
@@Nori_Plays You can control aggro by using gear like flesh knuckles, knuckle shield etc. The person who is getting attacked should have best mobility and dodging skill, move in a repeated pattern so that the rest of your group can adjust and use ranged weapons to deal damage. I'd suggest using the Queen Slime mount for best mobility. That's what I used to beat him. You only need a single win to get a nice boost in dps.
Late reply but there's 2 ways I usually kill Duke: 1. Pre-Empress---I used to do this exclusively before Empress of Light was released. Make 2 asphalt bridges over the ocean, one as low as possible, with the other directly above it, high enough that it doesn't interfere with wings. Place a teleporter on both ends of each, and link them vertically via pressure plates. By doing this, you should be able to manage sharknados by switching bridges as Duke places them. In getfixedboi, you won't have asphalt pre-mech, so you can substitute normal solid blocks as long as you make good use of dashes. 2. If you get Soaring Insignia, dodging becomes a breeze. Just use hoverboard to maximize your mobility, and go in circles. Try to get Duke to drop nados on the far ends of the biome so you can use the middle to evade. Both require that you can deal with bubbles by dodging or attacking and that you know how to dodge in phase 3. The trick is to dodge up and away from Duke of possible (balloons hep if you struggle). If you run out if flight, just fall and dash away from Duke until you land.
This just works, dont worry about the imps, if you set it up properly they should barely shoot and lag behind, if you don't kill them no more will spawn, that's the whole point of hitting them with low damage traps.

it was originally not working since my world had a stupid amount of lava pools but I fixed it up after realizing that was the issue (the imps were spawning in the lava at the very bottom)

Does the height matter? Tried replicating to test but the boss simply keeps moving up and down and the eyes still end up in the middle section.

Tried doing it a couple min ago, the bottom eye just no clipping on the ground, also upper eye and the mouth move freely inside the tunnel

I copied exactly everything but the dps was so much lower and the eyes and mouth were far apart so I could only hit one at a time.

I think they fixed this, imps are still shooting after being hit by darts.
Turns out they just like to fire just after teleporting, added more darts and faster timers and it seems to be working better now.
