To Whoever calls the Alco DL-109 an Ugly Duckling, *YOU ARE WRONG.* It’s a Fine looking locomotive. It has a long Angular nose that has a similarly with other Cab Units, but it’s also unique, and it’s long.
I thought this video was to be about the decoder install in a DL109. But it appears as thought a great deal of it was about passenger cars, and then some candy store stuff. I actually never did see the actual decoder he installed. th-cam.com/video/5B-Rog7CVNQ/w-d-xo.html Real disappointed as I have a number of these DL109 I want to put sound into. Brian
There are several videos i offer showing decoder installs. They are all fairly similar in diesels. Once you know which wires go to which, just transfer that information over. You don't need to find a video of your exact unit.
Beautiful locomotive and consist.
There's more Rock Island to come! Thanks tons for commenting!
That G scale model train reminds me of the similar layout at the IHOP location in Upland, Ca.
Oh.. an IHOP with a train? Never would have gotten me out of that place on one of my late-night visits during my youth!
Love my Milwaukee DL-109. Have this one and a brass one of old Maud. Saw my friend's one with the EMD nose
Awesome!!!!
Thanks so very much!
Merry Christmas Doc!
Same to you! (Belatedly) Best wishes for the New Year! I hope yours is the best you've ever had!

Would it be possible for you to do any installation for one of the proto 1000/2000 E8s or 9s? Lovely video and nice consist.

Actually the DL units were 2000 hp with double engines. The models weigh a ton, as the NH models could pull passenger and freight.
