Thank you Dr. Nazarian. I will definitely be using silicone sheets and gel while I'm preparing for my next surgery. I unfortunately cut the 5th flexor tendon on my right hand a few months ago. The initial repair failed and I subsequently underwent a Hunter rod placement in preparation for the tendon transplant from the 4th toe extendor tendon. It has been 3 months, but my surgeon is not happy with the quality of the scar. He wants to wait 6-8 weeks to improve the integrity of the skin before opening the scar back up again. Thank you again. Full disclosure I am a physical therapist.

Hello Doctor really this is amazing video informative, mais l have question,I use strataderm and contractbuex patch for scars on face, the Old on my forehead the other New since 4 months under my left eye, Is it possible if I have not found strataderm, can I use scaro cream, but I feel after 3 months it's good, but sometimes I feel pain under my left eye, thé New scar one

It's been 4 months now since my forehead scar has been revised, it's an improvement but the swelling is quite bad,.I believe it's seroma, and I've heard it should go away on it's own, but is there anything I can do to help?
Wonderful guidance, Dr. Sheila, Thank You...actually i get released of syndactyly of my daughter's right hand side. All wound healed almost after two months. But now here is swelling and hypertrophic scars on some operated area. My local dermatologist suggested SCAR FADE UV gel and another. He also advised to take one vitamin-E capsule daily. I am massaging two to three time daily. Is it ok..?. Please guide...i am very worry. Thanks. God bless You.

Oh my goodness, this good information was almost totally blocked out by the loud, irritating background music. I realize this video was made many years ago when a music track was the norm, thank goodness that trend is waning. Educational videos do not need background "musak."
I think it's pretty difficult to find correct proven info out there. With skim abrasion and scarring I think it's only natural that people apply certain creaks I'm order to lessen the gravity of scars. The problem is that most of us feel lost as to what use a certain product or nothing at all. Lots of conflicting data around, if not creaks or diet then we are guided to plastic surgery. I think it's good to research before spending loads of money on therapies, it is a lucrative industry so we have to be mindful and wise regarding that. It's been 3 weeks since I had a fall on my face and I'm trying to minimise the possibility of scarring. I've learned this.
Moist wound heals better than a dry wound. I have a dry wound on my knee and kept my facial wound moist and the face wound is progressing well whereas the knee wound still has the dry scab.
I started applying vitamin E oil this week and coconut oil and now after this video I'm confident again

I fell from my bike 3,5 months ago and landed on my face. I cut my face and got stitches above my lip, under my nose. I’m so devastated. I’ve been covering it from the sun with surgical tape, but I don’t think it’s blocking the sun and light completely. Recently I started to cover it with two layers of tape. I’ve done some exercising and it’s been very hot and I suspect that maybe it has made the scar even wider considering the heat and moisture. So I don’t know how good that is when you have a scar. I recently started to remove the tape before going to bed, but I don’t know if I should do that. I don’t know if I should use some cream on it. Theres are special creams for scars like cicamed or cicascar. I’m not sure if I should use it and what it would do for the scar. So far I haven’t been using any cream and only taped it. When can I stop taping it? I didn’t know I should cover it from the sun the first 2-3 weeks because the doctor said I shouldn’t do anything with it and just leave it like it is. Do you think that would make my scar darker? I haven’t been sun bathing but have spent some time out.
Dont feel bad I got into a cat accident a month ago I have a big car on my forehead and on my cheek i cover my cheek with like a skin color tape and wear hats everyday I have it but we'll it could of been worse just take care of yourself bro
Juan Ortiz thanks. I know it could be worse and that I got away pretty mildly considering the circumstances. But I do have ugly scars on my face now. ( I’m a girl btw) I’ve been covering the scar with skin coloured tape, two layers the past 3 months. Two more weeks and I’ll stop covering it and use sunscreen on it for 6 more months. I just hope that it will fade away or at least be less visible. I don’t know what I can do about it, cause it’s quiet big. And I also have small cuts near my lip. I’m so sad about it.
Good luck with your scars as well. And good that you used hat during summer. I did as well.

@@GoldenDelicious78 we are all in the same situation i cant even get my normal haircut because my scar would be very visible and i notificed that i have a keloid scan so my scars are kind of messed up but oh well im doing the same thing using tape to cover my scar two layers and i dont know what cream i should use
J Ortiz how u know that it is keloid scar and what kind of tape ur using to cover have u met a dermatologist
