    I'd love to try one.My wife and i made the switch to 900ace Skidoo sleds in 2017.Now over 21,000kms later,no regrets.Smooth,durable,no oil,no fumes,excellent trail performance. 300kms on a tank of fuel ,I could go on and on.This Indy with the S4 is a winner in my books.I look forward to trying one!! Thing looks amazing and the handling I bet be top notch

    OK guys I own about 12 new sleds from both skidoo and Polaris. I can tell you the real deal on this S4. It’s a great running sled for speeds between 20 and 60 mph on smooth trails. Top speed is about 75. The fuel economy is only about 14 mpg. The throttle by wire works real well, way better than ski doo. It starts a bit hard - a decent amount of cranking at each start. I generally ride in standard mode because sport mode tends to be a little jerky.

    • @MikeM-u9x
      @MikeM-u9x หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So it's not 15% better fuel economy than other sleds in the class? Seems most people can easily get 17mpg (US) out of the 900 Ace.

    I'm glad Polaris is in the 4S market and hope it sells well.

  • @gregsouther7293

    So it's more expensive, heavier, and slower than 900 ACE. Sounds like Polaris missed the mark.

    60 pounds weight difference would have been totally overlooked if they would have jumped the horsepower up to 120 ! The twin Suzuki motor cat had before yamaha arrived on the scene was a perfect example! 123 hp

      @joshgessinger4509 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If anyone buys that poo over a 3 cylinder Yamaha has to be nuts.
      The Suzuki 1100 would smoke that turd. Still own a 1100 Suzuki Z1 turbo i love it. I have few sleds Most the time i sell my sleds when i buy a new one. But have a soft spot in my heart for the Z1. With 4 maps to choose from 180-280+ hp I’ll probably keep forever. 13 years old it weighs less than this new Polaris does lol!!
      But back in the day it was called heavy and it is but with big HP makes up for it.

      @@joshgessinger4509yes. I feel like if they put a turbo on it, it’d work better for sure. Same with the 1100 non turbo they’re not the most powerful engine. But they work better than the popo

    • @joshgessinger4509
      @joshgessinger4509 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@braydenlewis7438 definitely with a turbo be a fun sled. would also be heavier yet though and wouldn’t make competitive power against the Yamaha or be as lite. All depends on what the turbo would sell for i guess. If they could keep price down from a Yamaha or cat might be a good deal. The Suzuki 1100 was fast in the spar chassis 100mph plus also felt torquey But in the pro cross it wasn’t as fast for some reason it was 123 hp in both chassis. Spar must of been less friction maybe less wind resistance. I saw the same with the F6 in spar owned 2 105 mph stock clutching. The 3 ZR 6000r XC sleds i owned and raced wouldn’t hit 100mph. My 15 went 96mph 16 went 93mph 17 90mph really slow and disappointing. The C tech felt way more powerful than F6 did though made more torque but around same HP i guess. Maybe the polaris chassis is better for top end the pro star will go 100mph but i doubt it. Probably a good reliable sled good mileage but for the money id rather have a 650 or even a 850. That and ur talking 100 ponds more weight might handle and ride good but the 2 stokes will be better no brainer what id buy. If i was going to buy a NA 4 stroke the yamaha 3 cylinder blows the competition away
      Ski doo has some good 4 strokes specially with turbo. Idk just think Polaris could of done a better Job with releasing a 4 stroke thats all. Not bashing polaris good sleds but in the 4 stroke segment my opinion theres better ones to choose from.

    Okay, I was really interested until I saw the price. Skidoo has an established 4 stroke with a proved reputation and Polaris shows up at about $1k MORE?
    Sorry, but it has to be said. Polaris' recent quality and recall issues are the reason I wasn't even looking at them to begin with. And now they are $1k more than a Skidoo which has a very good rep for build quality and durability? This is crazy. Yes, the Skidoo is also overpriced, btw. But overpriced by $1k less.

  • @MrGuerrios

    I don’t know anybody who upgrade their 800-2 stroke Titan for the S4. Polaris salesman don’t recommend it either, they say wait for the S4 turbo, without a turbo there is no point upgrading, beside the motor no change has been made to the Titan since 2018, unfortunately.

    A Twin Cylinder 4 stroke that gets good MPG but weighs more and costs more than a Skidoo .. Skidoo's are known to collapse . They are a built too light actually ..
    How do they change the Clutch engagement RPM's?
    I have been saying for years that my 4 Cylinder Yamaha APEX could get way better mpg if you could change the clutch engagement between Economy and performance settings on the fly ..

    I think Polaris is making a huge mistake not getting a high horsepower 4 stroke in the Titan. The Skidoo Expedition models have really taken off with a wide variety of engines available and I wouldn't doubt that the high hp options are the best sellers.

  • @canucktheory3271

    I laugh when people talk about Yamaha's as though they're heavy but we know otherwise after all the sleds have been weighed and tested. In the meantime, their 4 stroke motors are unparalleled in weight and performance. The Apex has 160 HP and the viper has 135 both naturally aspirated. It's beyond crazy that Yamaha is stepping out of the game to let the lesser sleds be the only option in the 4 stroke segment.

    Got a Indy adventure 137 s4 for my wife recently
    Pros;
    very quiet, forgiving ride, different throttle modes, fly by wire works excellent, has some surprisingly decent 20-45 mph pull in the trails, linear power curve with no surprises, no cold smoke or 2 stroke oil needed.
    Cons; no pull start, it’s very heavy ( although as stated it doesn’t feel too bad when riding but if u need to tug it around or tip it up it’s crazy heavy )exhaust note when riding is lame, it’s not what I would call a “fun” sled, F-N-R shifting is just as clunky and crappy as my rzr is, fuel mileage isn’t what I was hoping for and I’d say honestly say a 650 2 stroke probably gets better mpg.

      @@GYPSY400 lighter with power steering by 14 pounds I believe at 667Lb. So without power steering Yamaha has to be even closer to the doo 137 XRS 850 at 651 pounds but all these years all ya hears was how heavy the Yamaha was. Sidewinder no power steering vs 850 doo both 137 inch skids should be almost identical in weight. That’s impressive for a 200hp turbo 4 stroke right. Since 2017 bean the fastest sled on snow period.
