  • Neat and Simple Subaru Forester Sound System Package. Customer supplied 2x Pioneer amplifiers to be mounted under seats. Installed a set of dieci splits and coaxials for both front and rear and a space saving 10@ subwoofer enclosure.

    I can say personally that the customer (being me) was extremely happy with the result. Anyone that is on the fence I think the video shows a little but the install by D2i Automotive was next level professional. Whole heartily recommend as I've now seen several of their jobs completed.

    Loved this video, was really great attention to detail, well done. If I was having a stereo system installed you would be the one is want to install it. You treated car as if it was your own. Thanks for the video 👍👍

      The Speakers used were Hertz Dieci 165.3 ( now have become a 160.3) Coaxials and splits. The sub was a DS250.3 and amplifiers were customer supplied so not sure on those but the pioneer GM series

    Absolutely beautiful work! Do you have any idea how low that sun extends in such a small enclosure? I’m sure the cabin gain helps. Im looking to do something similar. I’d love 20hz but physics laughs in my face! I’d be happy with mid 30hz extension I think.
    Have you ever designed an enclosure for the backseat floor? Could extend both passenger and driver side floor space with an active and passive radiator to get the most out of the enclosure size.

    According to my opinion, you should have done the upgrade with all the interior functionality, more specific the seatswitch and aux power port and perhaps mad some adapters for the speakers instead og drilling new holes, so any corrosion could beavoided, due to bare metal.
    Anyways, all in all job well done, P.S: especially the acrylic mounts, they are nice.

    I know this was 3 years ago but i'm concerned about the sub box you made. That was a very small amount of space for a sealed 10" sub box. How does it sound for being so small. I am guessing that the enclosure is not to the specs of the Sub? Looks awesome though! I'd love to install an 8" sub in that location of my 21 Forester but there just isn't enough room in cubic feet for that area.

      This enclosure was by no means optimal It was just to add some bass not an ideal enclosure size it wasn't far off what the sub wanted but yes it was all about space and getting some output rather than being optimal.
      It did its Jo for what was Intended just a bit of bass but not something I would recommend for someone wanting lots of output or an sq system but for the budget and what he wanted it suited the job

    how do you pull the battery cable from driver seat to passenger seat ?

    • @D2iAuto
      @D2iAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use stiff plastic (yellow tongue) to pull it through under the carpet. In this case it has a cavity and room to do without removing carpet. In some cases I'll take the carpet out completely where required

    What size speakers did you use front and rear?

    • @D2iAuto
      @D2iAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These were 6.5s as the adaptors allowed for most standard 6.5" adaptors

  • @St33zyC

    do you have to disconnect the battery or anything before removing the seats? I want to put my amp under my seat as well but don't want to accidentally deploy the airbags or anything lol

    • @D2iAuto
      @D2iAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah best to remove battery and leave off for some time before removing seats and leave off until seats go back in.
      Otherwise you can throw codes as well

    do you have any enclosure made that I can purchase? I have been looking online but I can't seem to find it. I don't want to sacrifice trunk space to install a sub.

    • @D2iAuto
      @D2iAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ricardo,
      No i don't unfortunately. this was just a custom made setup and unfortunately fiber glassing custom work is very expensive especially for sub boxes which need to be solid. A box like this would easily see over $1500 to have made.

      I don't remember what model but they're listed on the aerpro website if you look up the model of car it gives you the adaptors and harnesses required

    Can I ask how much you charge for all of this?

    • @D2iAuto
      @D2iAuto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Price varies greatly on vehicle, equipment being used or going to be used, installation locations, fabrication work, Final look, Sound staging, level of sound quality desired, sound deadening etc etc.
      For this exact setup in labor alone would easily be around the 5k mark with the fiberglassed sub box but a great chunk of that is the box itself. If it was a standard mdf box or something similar or even a stack fab box then the cost of the subwoofer enclosure can be reduced greatly.
