  • I've been getting loads of requests to test out the newest foundation from MAKE UP FOR EVER and I understand why... it sounds like an oily skinned person's dream come true! I'm personally not the biggest fan of powder foundations but I was still excited to put it to the test with you all (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

Try this powder foundation over your favorite liquid foundation. It will add extra coverage and might be the way to go!

What about using it over a light coverage foundation to add coverage and to set it?

Please PLEASE use different primers. I'm annoyed at this point. Those obviously do not do you any good because you become so oily it looks like you didn't even put on a primer. Could you please use different primers every time you are testing the foundations

I live in Asia where is humid and hot. I have been a powder foundation girl. Here are some tips, set the concealer with a light weight translucent powder first then apply the powder foundation so that it wouldn’t be ruined while buffing the foundation. I have oily skin, I think the Make Up Forever one is better for those with dry skin.

I have really oily skin.. but something that totally helps me out is to let the skincare sink into the skin for 30 minutes and then blot of the toplayer of moisture that didnt sink in to the skin: with toilet/blottingpaper and then do my makeup💕

I love your videos... if I may I'd like to offer a small piece of advice without upsetting anyone? ( not knowing if anyone has offered this advice yet) being that you are so prone to acne, it's not the best idea to use the doe foot applicator right out of the concealer. It picks up bacteria from your face and then you spread it and put it in the tube of concealer. If you already thought of this and responded, I apologize... I just feel for you and imagine the acne hurts😓

I know you struggle with skin picking and so do I! I started using these Nexcare pimple patches from Amazon and they actually keep me from picking plus they shrink zits overnight!! I’m one of those if I can’t see it it’s not there people!😀You should totally try them! I used to put bandaids with neosporin on my zits so I like this idea better!!

Do you think you can try more powder foundations? Just the powder alone, not over liquid foundation. I’m really oily but don’t like the feel of liquid foundation and I’m curious about which powders work best in terms of coverage and oil control 😃 thanks for your reviews, Cassie!

  • @MrsBungle78
    @MrsBungle78 5 ปีที่แล้ว

I don’t know if I’ve commented this before but it can’t hurt to spread the word again. I am seriously oily & it doesn’t matter what primer or foundation I try, none of them keep my oils at bay for more than a couple of hours at the very most. I’ve tried using the porefessional on my nose in particular, as it’s the oiliest part of me, to no avail. One day I was applying primer potion to my eyes & I had some left over so I dabbed it in my nose....wow! Several hours later my nose was still matte! Many hours later my nose was still matte! In the name of research I even left my makeup on (I removed my eye makeup etc) over night & by morning my nose still looked as good as if the foundation was freshly applied! I don’t know what it is as the porefessional & primer potion are both siliconey primers. I don’t know why the one intended for the face doesn’t work for me but the one intended for the eyes works for my face...& I don’t care! Has anyone else ever used UD Primer Potion as a face/nose primer? If you struggle with oils & already own primer potion I urge you to give it a try! I’d love to know if it works for anyone else!

I think pressed powder foundation are for people with normal to combo skin without much blemishes because they can use it at light coverage and it will look good

Surprisingly good coverage but I’m still not a huge fan. I think liquid foundation is still the way to go for sure. Also totally feel having cat fur all over the face. I have a fluffy cat and a fluffy dog so there’s always fur lurking around my house.

Why would hot weather make you worry with powder foundation? Powder foundation lasts better under those circumstances than liquid foundation. Also, I find that PF works better if you use a large fluffy brush to pat it on instead of using the sponge to swipe it. That causes micro exfoliation and causes dry spots and texture to look awful. I use PF a lot and what I do is prime, spot conceal, and then use a huge brush to pat it all over and I get full coverage that doesn't budge all day with my oily skin, and it makes it look awesome on zits. Also, setting spray is a must. Just some food for thought.

No no no no. The initial application is dry and makes your skin looks old. Also having oily skin I notice that over powdering or over mattifying makes my skin overcompensate and get more oily and I think that's happening with you here. I dont feel conflicted at all on your behalf. Hard nope.

  • @sarahunter35

Random question, but first backstory: I just received this in the mail. I was a little concerned because the MUFE box the foundation came in was opened. But when I took the foundation out of the box I noticed the back didn’t have the sticker labeling the foundation color etc. Did anyone who ordered it off of Sephora have a MUFE sticker taking up the back? Majority of videos I watched there was one. (I don’t think Cassie’s had a sticker on the back either!) I guess it’s not a big deal but I found it interesting!

Selina Li Beauty better for me! I have large pores and it hides them so well, and it wears better and longer for me. What you apply it with is key. I use a brush similar to the it cosmetics heavenly luxe flat top buffing foundation brush , and buff it into my skin, and it’s so flawless that way. It’s been my ride or die for years even after trying so many others including the MUFE.

    • @lp33l79

I can’t find a shade in studio fix at all, NC15 too light, NC20 too dark/orange, NWs don’t work for me, also tried the C range and none look right. The MUFE wins shade wise for me as Y225 is perfect. Also this looks way more skin like than studio fix for me.

Powder foundations transfer and need constant blotting, but if I use them every chance I get in lieu of liquids, my skin improves. Like almost every liquid/cream foundation I have tried makes my acne situation worse, and the only ones that don't are water based ones with sheer to light coverage. My It cosmetics concealer isnt too bad in the acne triggering department, but its also not transfer proof sadly. Water resistant sunscreens break me out quickly, and so do foundations in the EL Double Wear style. Foundations with oils in them are amazing for longevity on oily skin, but they break me out badly (like the Zoeva one). So I just use powder foundation, buy a bunch of blotting paper packets to bring with me and touch up later in the day. I use the Maybelline Superstay one, or loose mineral ones from Etsy.

As an oily girl that only wears powder foundation (otherwise I will look like a bowl of grease 10 min after applying liquid foundation) first tip is to actually still set your concealer before applying the powder not only does it help with the oils it sets the creams under so they don’t fade hence not losing all your coverage

Edit: I decided to try out this foundation and I love it! I have hyperpigmentation on my face. I use some concealer to cover that and any other blemishes, the use the black sponge side to go over my whole face. It stays on pretty well all day. For reference, I have combination skin leaning towards dry
I'd like to see you try this again with concealer, then powder using the black part of the sponge, followed by an oil controlling setting spray. If you try it, let us know how it turns out.

Honestly Cassie, my awesome TH-cam friend, you should just get rid of dairy in your life. You've got acne on your face and as a vegetarian yourself, it's showing on your face. Many people that had acne on their face has gotten their faces cleared thru a entirely plant based diet and/or vegan lifestyle, and there are many dairy alternatives like cashew, pea, flax, soy, almond, hemp, and even oat milk. For every dairy product in existence, there are plant based options.

I get breakouts occasionally & don’t like powder foundation because of it.☹️ It looks ok when my skin is having a reeeaaaaally good day (nearly never), but I just think it emphasizes any pimples, scabs &/or dry, peeling patches. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi! I just wanted to offer a piece of advice from a fellow skin/pimple picker. Whenever I try to pick a pimple and it ends up being a huge mess and I know it’ll end up a huge scab, I put a colloid patch over the open wound. The colloid patch helps the redness and the best part is that THE NEXT DAY ITS NOT SCABBY AND HAD HEALED OVER. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still there but it’s not an open wound. You can apply makeup over if needed; I rarely do since I’m afraid it’ll be irritated. But otherwise, it is A LOT better and heals A LOT QUICKER.
The brand I use is CosRx; you can buy it in packs of 10 with 24 patches in each for under $25. Now, I like this brand because it actually stays on all night.

Even on foundation reviews most reviewers look like they’re using a filter or lighting techniques to make their skin look extra good. It is wonderful to see someone show what skin and makeup is supposed to look like in real like.

I love powder foundations in the summer. So lightweight! but I also have "decent skin"
One thing I do is use a sticky primer and let it sink in. Then setting spray do make it look like skin
Also you kept comparing the color to your hand, that's not going to be the best match! This one worked but that's not always the case

  • @julieh.6421

I do liquid foundation in the morning and then keep a powder foundation in my purse for touchups throughout the day. (I have combo skin - oily t-zone with normal to oily for the rest). I’m loving the new Dior backstage face and body foundation and I don’t have to blot until about the 4 hour mark. A few blotting papers and a few dabs of powder foundation and I’m good to go until I get home. I used to be a hardcore full coverage and totally matte kind of girl... but now I’m enjoying a more Demi-matte and natural finish. My skin is certainly not perfect, but I’m liking the way it looks younger without all of the full coverage covering every single “issue” up. You look beautiful as always, Cassie!!

I honestly feel like this is where powder foundation's are seriously under rated, when used as more of a "fixing" powder to take on the go. They work better than pressed powder, especially if you are like me and foundation breaks up on the tip of the nose. 1 swipe with a powder foundation and problem solved.

Just curious, with how oily your skin is, why do you always use the smash box primerizer (which is known to not be good for oily skin) rather than an oil control or mattifying primer? I feel like you’re not giving products a fair shot due to not preparing your skin in a way that would benefit makeup longevity. The smashbox primerizer specifically says it’s for hydration’s and moisture, but I don’t think that’s an issue your skin is looking for.

I got this Makeup Forever Powser Foundation to be full coverage for me. I used a dense flat top brush from Ecotools (similar density like your Tarte brush, but the Ecotools just has a long handle) and I just put the brush into the powder foundation and "stamped" it on all over my face and build it up by stamping. It covers up like a full cover foundation, honestly. I have Melasma on my forehead and it covered it doing that method and I did not use a concealer. I used the Milk Hydrogrip primer underneath. I have combo skin.

  • @rebelrose1385

You definitely should have exfoliated and used extra moisturizer prior to using it.
You would definitely benefit from the juice beauty spray exfoliator because it isn't harsh. You spray it on (and it feels just like water or a setting spray. No harsh beads or anything. Just liquid) and then use your hands and rub. You can see the dead skin coming off. Or glamglow masks. The black exfoliating one, the supermud clearing one and the hydrating one.
I have dry skin and using the masks, along with the clarisonic brush, a good cleanser and a good serum and moisturizer, my skin has completely changed.
I know you're oily as well, but all those things for the dry parts and the pores/blackheads would definitely be good.
I also shave my face with the flawless finishing touch tool, has improved how foundation lays on my face.
Obviously you don't care about the hair and that is fine, but I'm just sharing how it helped me.
I haven't watched your videos for at least a year and it seems you still use the same primers, even though I can almost guarantee they are one of the huge reasons that a lot of foundations don't work for you.

    • @kween4583
      @kween4583 5 ปีที่แล้ว

You really aren’t supposed to be exfoliating when you have break outs, especially open wounds. It’s aggregates it & will most likely make it worse.

Hey Cassie. What is your favorite mascara? Does not matter if it’s drugstore or high-end price. I was using it cosmetics superhero but I don’t like the way that it flakes. I was thinking about trying benefit. I am 50 years old and I just use one coat of mascara. I have fairly paler skin and my eyelashes are light color so I’m mainly looking for something to give me a little bit of length and color. I’ve tried lash paradise and some of the other drugstore brands and they just haven’t done that well for me. My foundation, concealer and eyeshadow I use is by Charlotte Tillberry but some of the reviews of her mascara they said that the wind was wonky so I have not tried that one yet. I’m just starting to use make up again to even out my skin tone. Then I saw her beautiful eyeshadow quads and lipsticks and the rest was history. I don’t do any eyelining. I haven’t gone that route yet so just a nice mascara that coats the lashes and doesn’t clump is what I’m looking for. Thanks. It’s hot here too. I’m in Dallas!

I know everyone is hyped for this. But I have dry skin and I hate powders. They always look shitty. So I'd never buy this. I stick to drugstore powders because they all do the same thing, and I don't wanna spend a lot on something I can get for cheaper. And p.s I get hot when it's like 60. And I'm always hot and sweaty so I totally relate lol.
