Tarja is who sucked me into being a Nightwish fan back in 1999. Her vocals with a metal band is something we never saw here in the US. She is an amazing vocalist and I am glad you decided to give her a listen. Thanks for another great video.
Amazing reaction, Shaun! Thank you very much! Tarja Turunen was the original Nightwish vocalist for almost a decade, defining a big part of their sound with her classically infused vocal techniques which combined perfectly with Nightwish's inicial power metal and later symphonic metal sound, and also with Marco's vocals, as you noticed it was a perfect match in every way! The great thing is that Tarja has been having an amazing solo career in the last 15 years... Her voice is high (her last note on this one is an Eb6), but also a full and really powerfull suported sound (and throughout her career she keeps on experimenting new things with her vocals, including a haunting dark and lower register she can belt out), plus having this theatrical presence on stage... The way each singer added their own twist to Nightwish is just amazing! Tarja added her own spark just as Anette and Floor! Planet Hell & Nemo from the same concert are a must see
@@MustaLaatta I don’t think anyone’s forgotten lol, each singer getting kicked out was kinda a big deal. many people just prefer Floors kick ass stage presence & whats she’s added vocally. which is ok! ( can’t say every one prefers it though as there are many fans who still cant get over Tarja and Anette, which is fine until people are starting to get attacked for liking one more than another... which happens far more often than it should)
@@emelielonnberg. I love Floor as well! I wish Tarja used more versatile vocal styles during nightwish rather than being strictly operatic. she does now in her solo stuff and it’s KILLER.
@@s_amylee Yes she has really done some great things after Nightwish 🤗 Maybe the versatility just wasn't there yet at the time, who knows what it could have developed into. I'm just happy all the band members are at peace today ❤️
Hey there!! I was just passing by here and came across this video (you know, Nightwish & Tarja on the radar of youtube >_< haha). I just subscribed to your channel! I loved your reaction, mate!! Btw, I think that the super high note she hits at the end is a D6 (I'm not sure though, need to take a look at it). At the end of my comment I'll leave links to some old school NW songs and Tarja's solo stuff that I highly recommend you to add to your reactions list (if you wish to, of course 😆 haha, but I promise you'll not regret it, you'll get more goosebumps and it wll get deeper and deeper haha). First some small info about this concert, as you asked: This concert, "End of an Era", where is included their outstanding version of The Phantom of the Opera you just witnessed, was recorded in 2005. That was sadly the last time they performed together with Tarja (literally the end of an era)... Idk if you already came across this fact, but they have kind of a complicated, even dramatic past regarding the messy separation between the guys of the band and Tarja, but I'm definitely not going into that matter right now... (Side note: did you know Tarja was very sick during this concert with fever and severe throat infection? She didn't even know if she'd be able to sing that night, yet she did it marvellously, so if this is not the best she can do, just imagine how incredible she is at her best! 😍). Anyway, Nightwish's music as a whole (no matter who is the singer they're working with, they're all amazing), God.... no mundane word is enough to describe the magnificent otherworldly realm that they created with their music!!! It's pure magic!! And Tarja is really one of a kind, so unique!!! My Goddess of Metal😍 hahaha. (And yes, she's indeed a classically trained lyrical singer and also performs in many classical concerts.) And it's so outstanding the way Marco's voice and Tarja's voice fit so perfectly together 😍 I get "eargasms" all the time (just like that girl on the audience of this 'Phantom of the Opera' legendary performance hahaha) while listening to them and to Tarja's solo career songs too! hahaha. As you can imagine by now, I'm a huge long-time fan (so cliche hahaha) of this amazing band and especially of Tarja's (I actually followed her solo career far more closely since she was fired from NW, so I can assure she has done some stunning beautiful solo work), I love basically everything about her 😍! They're such great inspirations! I love all three lead singers they had so far though, they're all unique and fantastic artists in their own ways and rights, but man... I feel like Tarja put an everlasting spell on me since I first listened to her voice, when I was like 13 or 14 years old! 😍 Her expressive, strong, dark, powerful yet heavenly voice, and her renditions full of emotions have always given me goosebumps all over my body, bringing tears to my eyes with every breath and touching the depths of my soul ❤!! This doesn't mean I dislike the other singers that worked with the band, on the very contrary! I love all of them, as well as their differences!! Imo the three singers are awesome artists, and all of them contributed in different, irreplaceable means that helped them grow as a band and develop their artistic identity within a base aesthetics of symphonic metal with folk influences. That being said, if that's alright I'd like to recommend some songs from Nightwish in Tarja's era and from Tarja's solo career as well (she writes most of her songs now, and she has much more freedom now). I'm new to your channel, so I'm sorry if you already reacted to some of the songs I'm about to suggest hahaha, but please put at least some of these in your reactions list: - Nightwish in Tarja's era: 1. th-cam.com/video/J7N8MekeH20/w-d-xo.html . "Wishmaster", live from the 2005 dvd "End of an Era" (the song is originally from the 2000 album "Wishmaster"). Amazing song and stunning performance! 2. th-cam.com/video/YODCM26JXOY/w-d-xo.html . "Ghost Love Score", also from "End of an Era" dvd (song originally from the 2004 album "Once"). One of their greatest masterpieces! There's also Floor's version of this song at Wacken (which is just as amazing of course), I don't know if you already checked one of these out. 3. th-cam.com/video/JYVl6MOZXIs/w-d-xo.html . Song "Swanheart", live performance from 2001 dvd "From wishes to Eternity". The song is originally from their album "Oceanborn" (1998). Really beautiful. 4. th-cam.com/video/E_RRMRXJWxI/w-d-xo.html . "Sleeping Sun", also live version from "End of an Era". Outstanding, beautiful!!! 5. th-cam.com/video/LUy8T_3kieI/w-d-xo.html . This is "The Siren", album "Once" and performance from "End of an Era" dvd. 6. th-cam.com/video/lZgkxgkH6I8/w-d-xo.html . "Planet Hell", also from "End of an Era" dvd (and originally from "Once" as well). 7. th-cam.com/video/VSMCD39EIMc/w-d-xo.html . "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan", also from "End of an Era" dvd (and originally from "Once" as well). I put this ballad song because it's simply beautiful and so very touching (plus, it's in finnish and I love it! haha) - Tarja's solo career (just an observation: her solo musical style is not easily defined; of course it still has plenty of the symphonic metal elements as main references such as some kinds of guitar riffs, the epic orchestral arrangements and her remarkable operatic vocals, but she incorporates aspects of many other styles and it's quite different from what we used to hear from Nightwish, AND it's just as magnificent!! I love the fact that she just walked her own path and found her "artist self", never trying to copy or recreate her old days with NW, and I absolutely LOVE the results of her choices, you never really know what to expect or where she's going next): 1. th-cam.com/video/6T-Wyw9lYyM/w-d-xo.html . "In for a kill", from her "What lies Beneath" album, but this performance is also from her live album Act I. It's bombastic! Hear the lion within her roar! 2. th-cam.com/video/UGkbQj8e6JI/w-d-xo.html . "Crimson Deep", the song is also from "What lies Beneath" and this performance, from Act I too. This one gives me chills, I just love it! 3. th-cam.com/video/K3QmQN7VSNI/w-d-xo.html . This performance is from Act I (her first live album, released 2012), it's a kind of mixed version of two of her ballad songs ("Oasis" from her My Winter Storm, and "The archive of lost dreams" from her 2010 album What Lies Beneath). Here she sings while playing a grand piano, showing some dramatic nuances of her expression and voice, with kind of "gothic vibes". She delivers such a touching, emotional and beautiful performance! It makes me shiver and cry every time! I've never seen anyone react to this performance, but imo more people should do it, it's just so touching! 4. th-cam.com/video/jxqodwLVdcU/w-d-xo.html . "Love to Hate", this song is part of her 2016 album "The Shadow Self" and the performance recorded in 2018, in London, for her live-album Act II. Outstanding, another breathtaking performance, one of my favorites! 5. th-cam.com/video/tv4XWkTWQ0M/w-d-xo.html . "Undertaker", also live for Act II, and another track of "The Shadow Self". Incredible! 6. th-cam.com/video/AeUjfxTkgfY/w-d-xo.html . "Into the Sun", live performance recorded for Act I too, but the song is included in her 2013 album "Colours in the Dark". Absolutely beautiful and stunning! 😍 - Some performances of Tarja's classical concerts would be awesome too, if you have time for it, of course haha, AND if you're into some classical music stuff as well (I love it, I'm a metalhead but also a classical musician, so....... of course I love it hahaha). But I promise it's worth it, she's really amazing! 1. th-cam.com/video/T2VIhB7q9uQ/w-d-xo.html . This is a czech opera aria called (in english) "Song to the Moon", from Dvorák's opera "Rusalka". Tarja sings it beautifully, so expressive, majestic and stunning! 2. th-cam.com/video/761qOzEdl8E/w-d-xo.html . This german aria is "Mein Herr Marquis", from Johann Strauss' opera "Die Fledermaus". Here she shows some super high notes of her soprano vocal range and quite an agility that is really impressive, for her voice has a little more dramatic, heavier and darker timbre, and this in lyrical music world generally means, in short, that the singer (man or woman) won't have so much agility due to some physiological features. 3. th-cam.com/video/kEFFp3G3cMc/w-d-xo.html . This one is the "Ave Maria" composed by Tarja herself. It's heavenly, divine and touching! 😍
Isn't it nice to have very high opinion on a band and then discover that there is so much more material to hear and see? Walking in the Air by young Nightwish is my suggestion, that's pure magic in form.
Thank you reacting to this. I love her gorgeous voice. She is a trained lyrical soprano. That last note was Eb6. Please react to Slaying the dreamer from the same end of an era concert and from Tarja`s solo career Supremacy (Muse cover) in Woodstock 2016 and Ave Maria. Stay safe.
Tarja and Tuomas started the band. You're welcome, Floor. That said, Floor and Annette are the two best human singers ever in Nightwish. But, you know, a goddess is a goddess, what can you do?
There's only one Tarja! I'll recommend from the same End of an Era concert, Slaying the Dreamer, the Siren, and Sleeping Sun. These are songs that sound best when she's singing them.
I love that feel Marko is giving you, that eerie feeling that you just know something sinister is about to happen. At 5:40 its almost as Tuomas is saying with his arm gesture, unleash Her.
Try "Fantasmic part III" or "the kinslayer" both from their concert "from wishes to eternity, if you want to go earlier, try "sleepwalker" on Eurovision.
@Louis Minten hey, i know this Version from Nightwish.,i think ok, hear a the original..oh, what a devote Christine, about the Phantom..And then this on Beste Zangers 2019..Floor and Henk bring the spirit..(ok, little joke, i mean, Floor dominate Henk ,😂😉)
(You're also welcome, Epica. Without Nightwish blazing the trail and kickstarting a damn whole new genre you'd be singing Clannad covers in a remake of Robin Hood.)
Hey Coffeebeanz, the whole concert needs reaction videos. It is an absolute powerhouse. Best I've ever seen from any band. There are several songs Marko sings in too, and there is also a solo from each of them. High Hopes from Marko and Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan by Tarja (this one might even bring a tear to your eye). Both have raw emotion. Liked and subscribed!
Tarja does a pretty decent cover of Muse Uprising. I love how Marco matches Tarja with his screams. Iirc it's like an e6- next step is to break glass lol
@@melicriszoe1 totally not surprised! I'm sure I've seen Chris Cornell break a glass too. I'd be like yeah you can perform in my backyard (I live rural) but I would take my glassware elsewhere lol
@Anna M. ooh I've not seen that! Thank you! When I saw them touring album before last (I'm sick n feverish & my brain isn't working, the second law?) & like they're one of those bands better live. Loved it
This gives you a little taste of why the old school fans loved Tarja so much. She was and is so unique in the metal world. I think that was a D6 my friend. 🎶🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘🎭
This is Tarja on full throttle - brilliant singer + Marko!!!! I am so looking forward to seeing the upcoming Nightwish version with Henk and Floor.. I guess it will slightly calmer, thinking of Henk..
Great reaction. :) Tarja and Marko sounds amazing together, it's intresting that Tarja has darker voice timbre than Marko. You should react something from Tarja's solo career. Please react her song "Victim of Ritual" live version from Woodstock 2016 or Muse song "Supremacy" cover by her from the same concert. Can you?
Yes, check out Floor doing it, with Henk Port, he actually played the Phantom, and was one of Floor's idols. You will like it. Blew up the net for a while.
Nightwish's 3 singers: 1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005 2. Annette: 2006 to 2012 3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+ everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's dark classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out. so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does while with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish (many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here) ---------- if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones: (NOT ranked, just listed) 1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down) 2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004) 3. Wishmaster 4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well) 5. End of All Hope 6. Dead Boy's Poem 7. Nemo (watch the official music video and also her live performance of it) 8. Kinslayer 9. she is my sin 10. wish I had an angel 11. slaying the dreamer 12. the siren and many more too
The version in the best zangers Floor and Henk is a amazing....higher level ...Floor is a amazing soprano and powerfull singer in the stage..Tarja is great...but Floor is out the world. Nigthwish Army🤘🔥
This was the last performance Nightwish did with Tarja. There's a story behind that but others can tell you. And Tarja had a pretty bad flu during this concert. Wasn't even sure if she could sing that night but she did. And she did it great.
Greetings and happy new year from Montreal 🇨🇦 to you Shaun! My very first comment to you. I've been on My Nighwish/Floor Jansen insane journey for a little more than a year now and I subded to your channel lately to follow yours ! Really awesome so far, you seem to realy enjoy yourself doing it ! I will follow you for some more ! Hey, Got a wonderful christmas gift ; an upfront ticket for the 4th US Nightwish show in Lowell, Mass. next october 7th!👍😁🤘 But before we need to get the vaccine and borders to re-openes , and I will be just in front of Empuu and realy close too of the Wonder..Floor live,..wow I cant wait.🤞 About this intense "Phantom" performance with Tarja, watching it now is realy particular knowing that just an hour or so after, ...she would be officially fired from the band by a given open letter,.. ending sadly a 10 years collab ! That being said, if you rewatch again you will sense the tension in the air ; the boys knows,... but not her ! It is the end of an Era! From the same concert, you should do the Pink Floyd cover of High Hopes,... awesome emotional performance during a Tarja outfit change,.. the 4 boys plays alone with Marko intense on the vocals and they well know that it will be so for a long time after this last set,.. the show must go on ! Finally, you must see Floor sing the same song on a Dutch TV show (Beste Zangers 2019) with Henk Poort a renowned opera singer that was the reel Phantom for years,..wow outstanding as well ! Now, Henk performs it with her in Floor's solo tour and Henk as asked to be invited to perform the Phantom duet in the a upcoming Nightwish show ! I suspect it could be in the virtual shows announced for march 12 & 13 ! 🤞 Keep reacting, Coffee cheers! 🤘👍
Another great NW reaction and I agree... No caffeine needed after watching this video! And I think I finally figured out who you remind me of.. Adam Yauch/ MCA from the Beastie Boys. RIP
Tarja had flu in this performance and Marco has had throat-surgery in the 90's which messed with his upper-register. Sometimes I wonder what this could have been like if they had been on their peak proficency
You should do a triple reaction of Nemo. First one from Tarja from the End of an Era dvd, and then from Floor at the Wacken 2013 concert, and finally the acoustic version with Floor :)
In order to understand Nightwish...it is totally obvious one has to check how they started, grew, got world famous founded their style and made their mark and pioneered their genre. That all happened during the first era up to this very concert. Later came some replacement to continue into already famous band. The way was already set and direction clear. In this song they do the ultimate best NW version of this song and act the classic also so well. Unfortunately this is not possible anymore...both singers have gone from NW.
@@nicod1361 I'm sure Floor sings at least as well when the time comes. So far I've only heard these three songs from Tarja. Hank Port doesn't count because he's not Nightwish. I want to hear Floor's version of PotO with Marco.
@@nicod1361 Has floor already performed all 3 songs with nightwish? If so, I actually missed it. I think I heard from her over the hills. Phantom isn't yet and neither is walking in the air. I must have missed it then.
Tarja was my reason for becoming a Nightwish fan, can't say I liked Annette all that much.. Floor is great, but I do feel, as one of the 'original' Nightwish fans, she should not sing the old Nightwish songs which were written with Tarja as the lead vocalist in mind. Ghost Love Score is one of those songs that come to mind. Also read about how Tarja wasn't versatile enough, which perhaps was true, but you should check out The Siren on the End Of An Era Dvd. She shows how versatile she can be in that, although it's only short. Also, Marko left the band recently!!!!!!! That was the biggest blow ever!!!!!! I'm really sad about that, that man is crazy talented :(
I try not to get into the song recommendation frenzy but in this case there's a song I am sure you will love from their Dark Passion Play album, which was the one after they fired Tarja. There are several songs on that album that they don't play live because of the emotions wrapped up in them. The song is Master Passion Greed. th-cam.com/video/hBTRq2Kgt3Q/w-d-xo.html I won't say anything else, just trust me that it will blow your mind and you'll love it.
Nice reaction as always mate, Yeah Tarja is amazing, alas this was the last show she played with the band, she was handed an "open letter" after this concert and was fired from the band, that is part of the research you must do before Poet and the Pendulum ;) - that is for later though.
@@shauncoffeebeanz Beware, the "army" will do their best to give you the one-sided story, one were Tuomas is painted as a saint and martyr, and Tarja the evil villain. All of this "homework" and "research" which they encourage you to do is to get a biased non-genuine reaction.
@@NeeceLoneWolf Can I not? I was acknowledging and agreeing with his observations on Tarja, I have been a fan for 22 years, I know all 3 are amazing, I have seen all 3 live, actually met 2 of them and I love them equally. If anything im more of a Floor guy anyway. @femalemetallover - I believe there is enough evidence for him to intelligently come to his own conclusions - peace!
I like thing song sooooo much. 🏆👍🍾. After this song without Floor - you can do a song without Floor and without Tarja. Do the cover/tribute to „High Hopes“ from original Pink Floyd....
That was an Eb6 note. I prefer this linked type of note more though, even if it is technically lower: 13 years later. th-cam.com/video/6qSuCMKF2n4/w-d-xo.html
Floor has some classical training but Tarja is a true opera singer and you can tell the difference. Floor is maybe better at rock. Anette was just ... horrid.. Tarja was very sick during this show and she vomited between the songs. Cheers from Finland the land of the Nightwish
Im a first time Floor fan, cause i started of with Floor, BUT NOW im asking Floor WHO???? OMG!!!!! 😮 And i THOUGHT Floor was good, NOT ANYMORE, after now hearing TARJA!!!!😀👍👍👍👍👍
Tarja was very ill during this concert. She couldn’t even sing at rehearsals that morning. Her doctor told her to cancel the show. Luckily she didn’t because it was her last show with them.
@@danwhitehousepc There's a sound-check video on youtube of her rehearsing Planet Hell with the band, imagine all there is which is not recorded. Do some research before you dip your nose into only half the story. It was an easy narrative to spin considering she leaves half her time with Nightwish in Germany and Argentina pretty much, and was a full-time master's student and needed the precious little available time to focus on that. Whilst a regular master's would take 5 years to finish, it took nearly Tarja 10 years because she gets putting it on hold. And it's not like she was invited to rehearsals. But to sing at their weddings, they we're all cool with sending her invitations for that.
@@FemaleMetalLover But she, by your own assertion, didn't go to rehearsals. (invited??). In most bands rehearsals are mandatory. And I was referring to the last couple of years she was with the band. You know, when she told them she was leaving in a year to do her own stuff.
" Floor set a high level" .... Actually, TARJA did set a high level. And Floor was very good in carrying on her legacy.

I'm new to your channel, so I'm sorry if you already reacted to some of the songs I'm about to suggest hahaha, but please put at least some of these in your reactions list:
- Nightwish in Tarja's era:
1. th-cam.com/video/J7N8MekeH20/w-d-xo.html .
I put this ballad song because it's simply beautiful and so very touching (plus, it's in finnish and I love it! haha)
- Tarja's solo career (just an observation: her solo musical style is not easily defined; of course it still has plenty of the symphonic metal elements as main references such as some kinds of guitar riffs, the epic orchestral arrangements and her remarkable operatic vocals, but she incorporates aspects of many other styles and it's quite different from what we used to hear from Nightwish, AND it's just as magnificent!! I love the fact that she just walked her own path and found her "artist self", never trying to copy or recreate her old days with NW, and I absolutely LOVE the results of her choices, you never really know what to expect or where she's going next):
1. th-cam.com/video/6T-Wyw9lYyM/w-d-xo.html .
- Some performances of Tarja's classical concerts would be awesome too, if you have time for it, of course haha, AND if you're into some classical music stuff as well (I love it, I'm a metalhead but also a classical musician, so....... of course I love it hahaha).
Tarja is on a completely different level than any of the other vocalists. I can't listen to Nightwish without her, it's just not anywhere the same.
Tarja! ❤️❤️ More old Nightwish songs!
There's only one Tarja! I'll recommend from the same End of an Era concert, Slaying the Dreamer, the Siren, and Sleeping Sun. These are songs that sound best when she's singing them.
Tarja is trained mezzosopraano, who lucky for us chose to sing something else than Puccini...
Marco is amazing😍!
I love that feel Marko is giving you, that eerie feeling that you just know something sinister is about to happen.
At 5:40 its almost as Tuomas is saying with his arm gesture, unleash Her.
What he really meant is your fired after this show. And she was....
I’m a dude, I love Tarja, I love Anette, I love Floor, I love Jukka, I love Tuomas, I love Empuu, but seriously man I am in love with Marko 😍🤘🤣
No Doubt
Kiitos. PLEASE Sleeping Sun End of an Era. Tarja Turunen & Marko Hietala.
Try "Fantasmic part III" or "the kinslayer" both from their concert "from wishes to eternity, if you want to go earlier, try "sleepwalker" on Eurovision.
Old or new, Nightwish is always great. 🤘
That was Tarja's last gig with Nightwish. Place was Hartwall Arena, Helsinki Finland 2005.
See Floor and Henk, in Beste Zangers 2019..🤗🥰
@Louis Minten hey, i know this Version from Nightwish.,i think ok, hear a the original..oh, what a devote Christine, about the Phantom..And then this on Beste Zangers 2019..Floor and Henk bring the spirit..(ok, little joke, i mean, Floor dominate Henk ,😂😉)
Nobody sings the phantom like Marko
Marco is best nightwish singer ever
Don’t forget to check out nightwish Pink Floyd high hopes cover same show, awesome awesome thanks 😊before Floor Jansen joined, thanks 😊
Love this version..........and Marko......well
(You're also welcome, Epica.
And now: the Phantom of the Opera with Floor Jansen and Henk Poort in " Beste Zangers 2019"...
Yes pleaaase 😇
you HAAAVE to watch nightwish's cover of High Hopes by Pink Floyd, Marko is unreal
Definitely checking that out in the next week or two.
@@shauncoffeebeanz awesome! Can't wait :)
Tarja does a pretty decent cover of Muse Uprising.
I love how Marco matches Tarja with his screams. Iirc it's like an e6- next step is to break glass lol
in an interview she said that she broke a glass
@@melicriszoe1 totally not surprised! I'm sure I've seen Chris Cornell break a glass too. I'd be like yeah you can perform in my backyard (I live rural) but I would take my glassware elsewhere lol
Yes, is the best Muse-cover of the all-times.
@@alejandromoya7 and I bloody love Muse so it's a big call
@Anna M. ooh I've not seen that! Thank you! When I saw them touring album before last (I'm sick n feverish & my brain isn't working, the second law?) & like they're one of those bands better live. Loved it
Dark Chest Wonder, Wishmaster, The Siren, Slaying the Dreamer or Walking in the Air from earlier live End of an Era with Tarja please?
This gives you a little taste of why the old school fans loved Tarja so much. She was and is so unique in the metal world. I think that was a D6 my friend. 🎶🎶🎶🤘🤘🤘🎭
it was an E6 !
Greets from a Floor fan. ;-)
@@matthiaskellner9331 ZThanks. I forgot back in the day, Nightwish tuned to E instead of D.
@@Thorgrim247 its an E6 in the original by A.L.W. too.
This is Tarja on full throttle - brilliant singer + Marko!!!!
I am so looking forward to seeing the upcoming Nightwish version with Henk and Floor..
I guess it will slightly calmer, thinking of Henk..
Great reaction !! Me too...
To hear Anette slay, Bye Bye Beautiful, Scaretale, Slow love Slow. She is with The Dark Element aka Anette and Jani Ghost and The Reaper.
Highly recommended, I do agree. Anette is too unappreciated
Queen of Elfs
Nightwish's 3 singers:
1. Tarja (original singer): 1995 to 2005
2. Annette: 2006 to 2012
3. Floor (current singer): 2013 to 2020+
everyone knows Floor, she's super popular with everyone, especially right now, and is a really good singer, having a huge variety of singing capability (pop, classical/opera, belting, growling/raspy), able to sing nightwish's old songs that were for Tarja's classical/opera singing, as well as new songs for her own variety/range of singing abilities
Unfortunately for Annette, she's a pop/rock singer, and a very good singer too, but her pop/rock singing just didn't go that well with nightwish's music, which was made for Tarja's dark classical/opera singing. So, usually, she gets left out.
so, it comes down to "Targasm” (Tarja) vs “Floorgasm” (Floor) in terms of the Nightwish singers in who you like most, if you like classical/opera singing better, Tarja is better at it, but that's all she does while with nightwish, as nightwish was created for tarja's unique dark operatic singing/voice, (now with her own band, or solo, she does a greater range of singing), but she does it really well, she's really got a beautiful voice, if you like more pop singing, belting and growling/raspy, with or without classical/opera singing, than you like Floor better
I knew nightwish from the early 2000s, so Nightwish will always be with Tarja, but Nightwish with Floor is really good too, but it's Tarja, who's my favorite singer with nightwish
(many others will help you out with Floor's songs, so I'll just stick to Tarja's songs here)
----------
if you do like Tarja with nightwish, here's some good ones:
(NOT ranked, just listed)
1. End of an Era (her last concert with nightwish, hard to find good quality and the entire concert, as it gets taken down)
2. Phantom of the Opera (her duet with Marco, really good, both of them together, this song was actually used in the Phantom of the Opera remake movie in 2004)
3. Wishmaster
4. Planet Hell (marco sings in this song as well)
5. End of All Hope
6. Dead Boy's Poem
7. Nemo (watch the official music video and also her live performance of it)
8. Kinslayer
9. she is my sin
10. wish I had an angel
11. slaying the dreamer
12. the siren
and many more too
You forgot to mention Ever Dream(which tarja def better than floor),10th man down,Walking in the Air and last one is Sleeping Sun
The version in the best zangers Floor and Henk is a amazing....higher level ...Floor is a amazing soprano and powerfull singer in the stage..Tarja is great...but Floor is out the world. Nigthwish Army🤘🔥
2:11 the girl and him did it at the same time!
Eargasm :D
Lol
Please do "Beste Zangers" where Floor is singing different styles of music 🙂
This was the last performance Nightwish did with Tarja. There's a story behind that but others can tell you.
And Tarja had a pretty bad flu during this concert. Wasn't even sure if she could sing that night but she did. And she did it great.
And still......you have a long Nightwish way to go.......
Well.. what is it.. like 8 full normal albums split over 3 singers with floor making a remake of pretty much all of the early once.
Queen tarja turunen listen to the supremacy live tarja turunen
E flat6 was the note!!! Phantom is not opera, it's a musical!!!!!
You are right. My bad.
Hey, Got a wonderful christmas gift ; an upfront ticket for the 4th US Nightwish show in Lowell, Mass. next october 7th!👍😁🤘 But before we need to get the vaccine and borders to re-openes , and I will be just in front of Empuu and realy close too of the Wonder..Floor live,..wow I cant wait.🤞
About this intense "Phantom" performance with Tarja, watching it now is realy particular knowing that just an hour or so after, ...she would be officially fired from the band by a given open letter,.. ending sadly a 10 years collab !
Keep reacting, Coffee cheers! 🤘👍
Another great NW reaction and I agree... No caffeine needed after watching this video!
And I think I finally figured out who you remind me of.. Adam Yauch/ MCA from the Beastie Boys. RIP
Stuart close they comic book store early today....😁🤪
Since your going back in time you must see There cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" Marco slays it
Tarja had flu in this performance and Marco has had throat-surgery in the 90's which messed with his upper-register. Sometimes I wonder what this could have been like if they had been on their peak proficency
You should do a triple reaction of Nemo. First one from Tarja from the End of an Era dvd, and then from Floor at the Wacken 2013 concert, and finally the acoustic version with Floor :)
I recomend you century child and wishmaster, two very good albums from them with tarja
I like old NW!!! More songs with Tarja please!
Please react to “The Promise” by Within Temptation from live dvd BlackSymphony you will enjoy this performance too! Greetings from Mexico🤘🏻🙏
I understood and agree with your last statement!
I would like to here joachim from sabaton sing this with floor. That would be so cool.
That a side. This is probobly one of tarjas best preformance.
With Tarja, do WISHMASTER live version. With Floor do DEVIL AND THE DEEP DARK OCEAN LIVE at BUENOS AIRES concert.
The version Floor in the show the BEST Zanger is amazing, Floor is soprano Tarja is messosoprano
Tarja is a Light Lyric Soprano.
Yes! Marco's Best Nightwish singer! Ever! Was...
I don't see how you can argue against this one. But I love how insane he is in Ghost River st Wacken 2013.
@@shauncoffeebeanz Dude! Marcos no more band anymore...
Im just thinking your gonna spill your coffee 🤣🤣
Coffee bean great reactions 😁
One of Tarjas best songs with nightwish.
Another one is "over the hills and far away" and "walking in the air"
maybe before Floor did it
@@nicod1361 I'm sure Floor sings at least as well when the time comes. So far I've only heard these three songs from Tarja. Hank Port doesn't count because he's not Nightwish. I want to hear Floor's version of PotO with Marco.
@@TomTomson81 "when the time comes" ?
@@nicod1361 Has floor already performed all 3 songs with nightwish? If so, I actually missed it. I think I heard from her over the hills. Phantom isn't yet and neither is walking in the air. I must have missed it then.
I don't know that Marko can sing this anymore. Wasn't this before his surgery?
If your like operatic singing then you need to watch Dimash singing olympico also known as Ogni PIETRA. Mind blowing. Would love to see your reaction
I'm really sad about that, that man is crazy talented :(
Hi mate !
If you want a comparison Floor does a version of this song on dutch tv show Beste zangers 👍
Yes, I know I have my homework for that song so it will still be a bit. Thanks!
@@shauncoffeebeanz Beware, the "army" will do their best to give you the one-sided story, one were Tuomas is painted as a saint and martyr, and Tarja the evil villain. All of this "homework" and "research" which they encourage you to do is to get a biased non-genuine reaction.
@@FemaleMetalLover agreed. Same with Anette. Life happens. Anette and Tarja are both amazing.
Paul can you not. All 3 singers are amazing.
React to i wish i had an angel music video or nemo music video
That's an Eb6.
Wishmaster from the End Of An Era should be next🤘
I think that was a 'D'
That was an Eb6 note. I prefer this linked type of note more though, even if it is technically lower:
13 years later.
th-cam.com/video/6qSuCMKF2n4/w-d-xo.html
That is an amazing performance!
Floor has some classical training but Tarja is a true opera singer and you can tell the difference. Floor is maybe better at rock. Anette was just ... horrid..
Tarja was very sick during this show and she vomited between the songs. Cheers from Finland the land of the Nightwish
Tarja is good, but I still prefer Floor Jansen is my favorite, awesome 😎
I prefer Tarja's studio work. She tends to go full diva during live shows. Not my thing.
Im a first time Floor fan, cause i started of with Floor, BUT NOW im asking Floor WHO???? OMG!!!!! 😮 And i THOUGHT Floor was good, NOT ANYMORE, after now hearing TARJA!!!!😀👍👍👍👍👍
Eb6
Tarja was very ill during this concert. She couldn’t even sing at rehearsals that morning. Her doctor told her to cancel the show. Luckily she didn’t because it was her last show with them.
Tarja rarely did rehearsals, or sound checks, or band meetings, at this point in time.
