So, some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music. They have only been around for about 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and now they’re taking it to another level. This was a medium-intensity song for them. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. One key to their sound is that the two shredders are so different in style and tone. Midori is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets really rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") So glad you reacted to this song first. It is a relatively simple song with great energy from the ladies and played with joy and charisma. Too many people get recommended Thunder Vengeance or Holy War as first look at Lovebites. They are not bad songs but unless you know who Lovebites are, watching Thunder Vengeance is not good, in my view. it is the opening number of the show, the ladies are wearing Sargent Pepper, style jackets which means they can't move around much and the jackets were ditched after the song. The playing is static as they had not really warmed up, plus the opening graphics are meaningless unless you know about Lovebites. Holy War, does have some excellent guitar work but again, it is not anywhere near a good example of the range of metal genres Lovebites can weave into a song. My favorite band and the best heavy metal band today. Period !!!! This song is awesome but, as mentioned below, it does not reflect the music of these ladies, they mostly play speed metal (check "Holy War" or the stunning "Swan Song") and even thrash metal sometimes ("Break The Wall"). As others have already said, Japan has an obscene number of great rock and metal bands at the moment (have had for a good few years) and all female bands are not unusual. Shaun there is a tone of super good heavy all girl bands in japan even there pop bands have killer guitars in. Love Bites & Band Maid at the top with up and coming bands like Nemophila .Then Mary's blood ,LesaX ,Iron Bunny cyborg shredding guitarist there's too many to list here . And then mad insane bands like Gacharic Spin/Doll$Box (same ladies) whos live shows have to been seen to be believed one of the best slap bass players in the world . Les heavy but still guitar based bands like "Raise A Sulin" A Declaration of XXX in a packed stadium .The west has fell way behind there musicianship is off the charts and there all having fun doing it .
A nice recommendation for you, check out Asterism - they only do instrumentals but their guitar mastery is absolute and most of the clips were recorded when the lead guitarist was only 16.
Japanese female metal bands, Lovebites, my fave, others are Aldious, Bridear, Fate's Gear, Band-Maid, Mary's Blood, Brats... Lovebites was created by the bassist and drummer who came from another awesome all girls band called Destrose. When that band went separate ways all the girls ended up forming other super girl metal bands, some I've named. Japan has amazing talent.

Anything by Lovebites is great but avoid Bloodstock videos. That set has what was perhaps the worst sound mix in history. If you want to check out more female shredders you could try Nemophila, Sorai. As others have already said, Japan has an obscene number of great rock and metal bands at the moment (have had for a good few years) and all female bands are not unusual. Shaun there is a tone of super good heavy all girl bands in japan even there pop bands have killer guitars in. Love Bites & Band Maid at the top with up and coming bands like Nemophila .Then Mary's blood ,LesaX ,Iron Bunny cyborg shredding guitarist there's too many to list here . And then mad insane bands like Gacharic Spin/Doll$Box (same ladies) whos live shows have to been seen to be believed one of the best slap bass players in the world . Les heavy but still guitar based bands like "Raise A Sulin" A Declaration of XXX in a packed stadium .The west has fell way behind there musicianship is off the charts and there all having fun doing it .
A nice recommendation for you, check out Asterism - they only do instrumentals but their guitar mastery is absolute and most of the clips were recorded when the lead guitarist was only 16.

Lovebites, my fave, others are Aldious, Bridear, Fate's Gear, Band-Maid, Mary's Blood, Brats...
Lovebites was created by the bassist and drummer who came from another awesome all girls band called Destrose.
When that band went separate ways all the girls ended up forming other super girl metal bands, some I've named.
Japan has amazing talent.
