If you set your reactor up in the same fashion as his first reactor, then your all good, if you do the second way, keep in mind that flux gate draws out the power, plus the reactor draws power. So for that setup the flux gate needs to be set at the 374k
You don't provide enough details, and constructed the two reactors differently.... so its pretty difficult to bridge the gap on what you meant to do vs what you did.
I tested this method in a testing world to make sure that I got it right. I also tried combining an automatic shutdown/fail safe on one of the reactor stablizers. I was also testing to see how far can I stretch the reactor's max RF output.
i Know why its exploding in our games xD because you did one thing wrong... xD the reactor that is working have 537.000 output to a storage and from the storage back to the reactor with 222.000. The new one have 537.000 output to a storage(when you build one at the cable) and 222.000 output into the reactor. = old one 537.000 output new one 537.000+222.000=759.000 output. than its overheating and boom. When you want that its working just build a storage between the output and input or reduce 537.000 by 222.000(537.000-222.000=315.000) :D (sry for my bad english but im a german guy)

BlutSpuren good theory but not quite when u first start ur reactor u have to build up the power output slowly with a teir 7 energy storage (full) I start at 500k input and output to "warm it up" at that point temp should be around 7k after a day or so of running sat will increase lowering temp I then raise output and turn a computer craft program to auto input cntrl which gives me a stable 50% containment field strength temp will rise and decrease continue to cycle until u meet ur goal start small if u have to ur first start should be no more than a third of the power u have to minimize risk also if u r able to get bedrock the 3 thick walls and corners are the way to go to protect near by bases

In other words, if say, 80% of the core is Chaos, the fuel burns faster but the net RF is going to be much higher. The best reactor build would capitalize on it

Gary B-Ry there are a lot of things that can make it explode. not setting the gates correctly or the Redstone or ur capacitor bank filled up. it has to be able to output the power.
literally exacltly how you set it up, piece for piece, energy storage was at 40billion out of 2 trillion when it blew up. was getting the exact same settings as you with the exact same gate settings...
Made a reactor in creative and it seems to be filling up on saturation, increasing containment field (about at 75%), and decreasing temperature... not sure why temp is still about 2k
So I'm testing this in a single player world, what will happen if my tier 7 energy core (2.14T rf storage) would get full? Would the reactor explode or something? If so is there a way to prevent that?
Also, my reactor just keeps dropping in temperature, but is still making the same amount of rf/t. Is that good or bad? (It's currently at 7797C after some minutes of afking there)
One more thing xd. I can see that my energy saturation is very slowly going up, if I were to chunk load that on a server and the energy saturation would get full, would the reactor explode?
I have the same setup, the temp on the reactor went up to 4589 then it just went down back to 2000 and Field strength and energy saturation went up to 99% and i didnt do anything, how should i setup the Capacitor bank? any special details ?
I have mine producing about 400k per tick but only get to use 200k - 202k but, I'd rather not red line the reactor since it's in the center of my base.

i've found something really annoying, reactor meltdown = much lag, i've been trying to let this fricking reactor blow up because i've cleared everything valuable away from it, it just takes forever when it takes 5 minutes to start the game and it crashes every 5 minutes and i only get 1/20ths of a frame per second
Ik Don't Worry I was Using The Wrong Version Of The Mod. The Reactor isn't in the 1.10 version as far I could see, but it was present in the 1.7.10 Version
+EthanDj i found the problem if i do the link cable and only take out the power. at start up the drain is to high on the shield so i need to ramp it up. from 300 to 400. to 537
This design does NOT work in 1.12.2, Because of how the reactor now destroys blocks. The reactor destroys the injector before the heat can get above 300C. And, if you try moving the injector down any amount of blocks, there is a 100% chance of the reactor exploding.

use flux networks. You will need to set it to ignore limits through. Also it does not always connect, you might have to use draconic energy relay crystals to transfer it to the input/ouztput

also with modern versions you'd want the injector further away, as now blocks that get engulfed will be destroyed

My Reactor stabilizer doesn’t want to give my cryo flux duct any output, so without output the saturation gies up and it explodes. Any help?
add an extraction cable or flux gate, it will only input if you dont use a directional power pusher

Generation rate might be 537,000 but it's also consuming 165,000 so you're really only getting like 350,000 which is still pretty good.

Sounds like you didn't have enough energy to kick start the reactor or your input/output system broke
that sounds like a output failture. High energy saturation means you can draw more power

Mine stays on 8000 degrees, bit it requires the flux gate to slowly increase output or else it cools, losing efficiency.

All you need to do is get forge for 1.7.10 and download this mod along with its core mods and add them into the mods folder.
