another respawn bug I encountered: you walk very slow even after walking for a while but when you spindash you walk very fast even after just taking a few steps
There is one more respawn bug variation: When you move, your character keeps walking even if you hold it enough to count as a run. If ya spindash in this state, you will enter a glitched running state where it's thesame thing, but now, instead of always walking, you're always running.
Sadly, no. I did a similar challenge (just without spindash, to mimic PA1). The final boss needs the homing attack to deal damage. Everything else is possible.
