Hope.....in the eye of a storm. Freedom’s light burning warm. Epic. Words that can ignite the soul, if we don’t forget the meaning. Thank you Mr Diamond.
I love this movie and this is my favorite part. I love the look on his dads face when he hears and sees how the crowd reacts to his music. Such a great movie
That was all Neil Diamond. He did that pose on his own which was super cool and the movie people used that pose and made it work for the film's poster.
This song is amazing. For those who immigrated to America, it must be amazing seeing the statue of liberty. I can't imagine it. But to those who were born and raised here, know how blessed you are to be an American. Only country that has this freedom and should show respect for it and stop whining about the problems with America and strive to make a difference by example of the life you live, way you behave.
A great part to me is how his father saw what his son had done. Even though he'd been a cantor now he sang for everyone and his father saw that how they loved him and his marvelous music and tribute to our great nation with it's freedoms. It's too bad we can't see the whole movie.
As powerful as it was when my mom grabbed my hand as a teenager and we drove to Newark Shopping Center to see the movie on a Saturday afternoon. I will NEVER forget that. {{{ psssst: Watch. the. Movie. on the biggest screen you have with the best sound system :) }}} Thanks Mom/ Jacqui 💖👑💃🏻💃🏻 Thanks, Terry: "Lisa this isDing..." 😘
Lost my Grandfather to Parkinson's. My prayers are with you sir I your journey to fight this dreaded disease....your fans believe in you and what you are made of sir......God Speed in this fight.

I saw him in Cincinnati in 1999 and I was at the back of the arena watching him sing thru a pair of binoculars. I saw him do that little “push” that he did in this scene. It was very surreal and cool! 🎼😀🎤
THIS SPARKS YOUR INNER MOST FEELINGS ABOUT WHAT AMERICA IS, IT IS THE PEOPLE, THE LAND, THE FREEDOM, AN IDEA IN YOUR MIND, A PLACE, IDEALISTIC SOME SAY, I EXPERIENCED IT FOR A LIFETIME, I HOPE THE LIGHT OF FREEDOM NEVER GOES OUT IN THIS WORLD.
Beautiful! This brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. It makes me think of my grandparents and aunt coming to America by ship all those years ago. This one's for you, Grossemutti!
Absolutely fantastic movie! All of the great songs that came from the movie is amazing. Always loved the movie, most especially Neil Diamond and his singing. Fantastic voice. These were the days when true artistry took place...full orchestra's. Thank you for all of the fine songs and years of listening to you Mr. Diamond.
Everybody was singing, cheering and rocking with Mr.Diamond's "Jake Robbins"at the end of the 1981 movie remake of"The Jazz Singer"..Al..including Ms.Arnaz, the character actor playing the talent manager, and Sir Larry Olivier.
His voice is wonderful and I've loved listening to him since the 70s. I have his records and CDs so I'll still be able to hear that voice, even if he can no longer sing. He and Linda... two of my favorite singers. He is FANTASTIC in concert!

You mean like your ancestors did lol you are a joke if you don’t think you are living on stolen land that was taken by people illegally but keep being MAGA how’s that working out for you? @@ForceMaximus84
One, you may want to look into how they were actually received. Two, you may want to read about how important it was to these immigrants to maintain a piece of themselves and their former homes while still managing to assimilate…become Americans (as T. Roosevelt put it no hyphens, and room for but one flag.) Finally, we are still THE PLACE that people seeking a better life are welcome as a guests who may/will eventually become friend and family. The expectation is just as it is with most people’s homes. Knock, introduce yourself, stat your purpose, explain how you will contribute, then be invited in. With the volume of people who wish to seek something better (because it is better) here, there will be limitations on how many the house will hold, how well they understand the house rules and their new role and responsibilities to rest of the household. Schools used to be able to reaffirm these values to native born and immigrant children. Parents, native born and immigrant, laid those foundations at home. There was a sense of cultural norm. So, people understood where and how they fit into the picture. The picture was blurry sometimes, and sometimes miscreants tried to ruin the picture. It a Polaroid picture that is always developing. Sometimes it just needs a little shaking.
our current government should listen to this song. this movie was made 38 years ago, but is so pertinent now. let's be different. no more tribalism. no more us and them. let's grow up as a species. let's be human.

Absolutely brilliant.
That was all Neil Diamond. He did that pose on his own which was super cool and the movie people used that pose and made it work for the film's poster.

What a great movie 🎥
our current government should listen to this song. this movie was made 38 years ago, but is so pertinent now. let's be different. no more tribalism. no more us and them. let's grow up as a species. let's be human.
And still no Blu Ray release.
Love the movie
