Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj also performed at this same show. They had waaay more energy (since they were dancing like crazy). I love the guy but he isn’t full of energy like the 20-something .

Survivrs yes I was very sad I’m 16 I had tickets for 50th anniversary tour in my country Australia I heard on the radio one day home from school I have personal transport and I said mum did u get me Neil diamond tickets for my birthday yes or no. no questions asked. She said yes why. I said he has Parkinson’s tour is canceled won’t be touring anymore but is still writing music. She said oh my god really. Convo went on for much longer. I saw melody road tour in 2015 atleast but it was amazing. But the 50th anniversary tour would have been more crowded thoe as expected.

My brother was always a big fan. I just didn’t see it. In July 1972 we took him to see Neil at the Arie Crown theatre in Chicago for his birthday. He opened with “Morningside”and closed with “I am...I said”. His concerts weren’t filled with so much glitter back then. I was floored by the music and his performance. I was sixteen and have been a fan ever since. Actually went to Sears (yes Sears!,) and bought a guitar and learned to play his songs.😊My brother was right when he said “he touches you through his music”. Great writer and performer. Saw Neil when he came back 2 the Greek Theatre opening night it was another Hot August Night. It was AMAZING!!! I will never forget it! I'm so sorry he's sick & must retire. Performances like this u never 4get - u always carry the music with u.
70 years old. I remember a group sing-along to Sweet Caroline erupting spontaneously in my remedial English class. Kids that were born a full 23 years after this song was a hit. Not many of today's performers will enjoy that kind of longevity. If they do, I suspect people will remember the outfits more than the melodies of the hits. I forgot the tune Rihanna performed at the beginning of the show as soon as she finished it.
