Best wishes for your brother Jeff. Citizen eco drive, accurate, tough and no nonsense, probably good for 10 years, even then it would be a simple service.
Ennui was the word I was looking for to describe how I feel about the watch hobby at the moment. Nothing excites me and I just feel I’m going around in circles.
About the Willard, if u are familiar with Spencer Klein and his TH-cam channel, he's really great with vintage Seiko's, one of the problems he points out in regards inconsistent/poor movement performance with most modern and new Seikos is over-lubricating the movements. That seems to be the case you got here with your Willard. If serviced and cleaned and lubricated properly, it should run like a champ and a lot better. The Seiko movements are inherently solid and very good. It's just the QC, or lack there of, put into them, especially the lubricating, is supposedly a common issue when getting poor performance out of the box. Sometimes ok, sometimes not so ok.. as with the alignment peeves, it's just luck or bad luck of the draw when you buy one.
Hope your brother is doing well, man. My BIL went through CAR-T treatment for a mantle cell lymphoma about a year ago, he’s in complete remission. Life’s a treasure, brother. We should all value it as such. I just ordered the green one. This black one is also speaking to me. It’s a disease. :(
Jeff, First of all, I wish your brother all the best and good for you being by his side. 1. I love this “Retrozllla” watch so much; so amazing I got 2 :-). 2. You inspired me to downsize my collection that has spiraled out of control to over 100 new watches (not only Seiko) and will go down to 25 for a starter. 3. I am keeping my SBDX012, SBDX014, SBDC065 (the one you cruelly let go :-), and the good old Shogun with no X, and the tiny SBDX013 4. I have 67 vintage seikos (including mint vintage captain Willard, and Gold dial Pogue) and the money from my sales will go to restore them Love your “anguished” watch reviews, hilarious. Keep it up man and cheers to your brother’s health
You are going to find that this Citizen wears very different from your MM300. It's plain looking but in a way I like it. Love my Citizen Super Titanium diver. This does like it could drive nails. Hey maybe someday you could have an actual carpenter buy and wear one every day for a month and give a report. My plumber is looking for a good tool watch and I'm gonna have him watch this video. Best wishes to your brother and good vibes for a complete recovery.
Nah, glad Tudor is gone. Citizen gets my money. My sub-$600 automatic looks sharper than my Nomos. A little bit of clasp-gap is the only niggle. Bring your brother a watch. God’s speed my friend.
Wonder why they didn't keep the lefty crown, even more so since you are only going to use it once every two months? I rarely like Citizens but this one's retro-futuristic punk vibe is quite fascinating. I could totally see this in Bladerunner or something.
i have a mixed herd at this point. my daily is a breitling aerospace. i've found that as long as a quartz watch doesn't have a ticking seconds hand, it satisfies. i wish there were more quartz two-handers out there. at present, i find a quartz chrono with a ticking sub-dial to be an acceptable compromise. now, i also despise date windows, naturally. i love this watch, but... it has a ticking seconds hands and it has a date window... i'm out.
The rubber strap is much nicer than on my EcoZilla. My wife thinks so too and this watch has now gone to her. Shortest time in my watch box. Shame, I now have to get the NB6004. But on titanium bracelet or rubber? All the best for your brother and your family, Jeffrey.
Nice to see your back Jeff, enjoy your time with your brother m8. Never had a citizen, but they all look good value for money. It's a bit big for my taste, like my 42mm and under usually.
@@JeffreyMcMahon timegrapher showed issues mate, and when I contacted the dealer they weren't interested... and citizen uk wanted it for 6 months, not happy!!
One watch on vacation. The Citizen Ecodrive "Ray Mears". It did well in the Teuteburger Wald, Berlin and now Bad Bentheim. Sold 5 watches this year so far. Next to go are the Glycine's. Nothing "Swiss" anymore. Heard of this guy from my watch forum who had to pay 600 Euro's for new Sapphire on his Oris 65. Stick to Japanese watches and cars.
You just sent your Seiko to the chop shop man. I had a bad experience with Seiko NJ. The watch I sent them came back worse than it was before I sent it out.
I’m praying your little brother pulls through… I hope cancer GETS fucking cancer!!!! It’s stole my Mom and my Dad from me…… I’m torn between this watch and the luminox blacked out chronograph….
Wow the design of that watch is striking. Going to be difficult not to purchase one. I'll just wait until there's a black and white option. Here's to hoping your brother responds to this new treatment. Best wishes.
Beautiful watch but too small at 45mm for me. I like the 47mm of this bad boy. I’m here looking for anyone that’s tried putting a titanium bracelet on one.
This Citizen looks like you could use it as a carpenter's hammer. It like it. The ultimate grab and go, do anything watch. Thanks for the share!
Taking care of your brother is the most important thing.
I Will Buy It, citizen Is very underrated brand

Thank 😊 you for another great video

Oh man, that’s a beast of a watch, McMahon - I do want one! Best of luck to your brother!
Quartz is good when it's time to jump out of an airplane or wrestle an alligator. Automatic is good when your smoking a cigar and drinking a Bourbon.

That retro zilla is fire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥. I want the green one in my collection.

Hi Jeffery, may I ask if you will do a video on your likes and dislikes of your sla051 after owning it for sometime? Thank you 😊.
