Thats so funny!! I thought the same thing when I held it ...there is a texture to it that is quite unique. I do wonder if it will pick up dirt marks though...that fine grit will be a bitch to keep clean I think!

I was just about to make the same comment. Per Citizen's official website, it's "hardened scratch and impact resistant mineral crystal". I've been very pleased with the durability of my other Citizen divers with mineral glass, though. No scratches at all so far, and I definitely don't baby my watches.
I don’t understand why citizen can’t just make a reissue of the old one.This watch looks cool but the looks or features are not functional like they were on the original! The four “corners” on the original had screws that would hold the top plate which had a ledge on it to hold the bezel onto the watch. This watch is merely for looks and is made like the lower end eco drives. On mine when you screw out the crown you can push and pull the crown and the hands and movement move with it as if the movement isn’t attached to the dial. All the lower end eco drives I’ve owned did that, the eco-zilla is the only one I’ve had that didn’t.
Love the watch. Anybody who believes the Eco-Drive six-month power reserve may need to give their head a wobble. Weeks perhaps. I have mind permanently on the windowsill. A very good review nevertheless.

That's a mineral glass crystal with no AntiReflective coating at all. The Durotect is not a coating, but a surface treatment; there's a difference.
The coating and finish on mine feels like the smoothest wet/dry sandpaper. The dial reminds me of pressed powder black diamond dust.

I got the same one but it didn’t come with sapphire unfortunately, but I still like it regardless.

Mine is on the way I have titanium red arrows Skyhawk which over the years has picked up some light scratches mainly on the bracelet
