NZ Deep South Part 12 - Curio Bay to Pounawea

Into the heart of the Catlins. We travelled along the very quiet road of the Southern Scenic Way, through the hills and rainforests, to visit waterfalls and coastal lookouts, past very tiny, quiet towns and hamlets. The weather remained grand and impressive, though when the sun was out in the middle of the day it beat down on us unrelentingly. Whistling Frog Cafe & Resort was a wonderful oasis in the middle of nowhere at Chaslands, Florence Hill gave us mystical shrouded views, and the descent to the Catlin River valley was awesome. Pounawea surprised us with its coastal magic.
