genius ... many thanks for expaining this .... I've been getting an earfall for buying a dud line .... if it's OK by you, I'll claim that I figured this out for myself, I need to fill the brownie point tank !!!
It has amazed me how many complaints there are about these retractable washing lines sagging. It's very simple to correct and as shown here, but if you extend your line and attach it to your hook, then walk back to the unit, pull the line as tight as you dare, then wrap this bit around the "bracket" under the unit and the slack will just wind back into the unit. Much easier than trying to feed it back around itself as you are doing in this demo. Not saying you are wrong, it's just easier! As for not holding heavy washing ours gets everything hung from full bedding to heavy dressing gowns etc with no issue. we've had ours for three years and it replaced one we had for 10 years. I'm only needing to replace this current model as the pole we have it wrapped around to create a triangular line has cut through the plastic outer on the line itself. I'm going to put some protection on this area to reduce the rubbing. It's also left out all year so I may even revert back to just a good old fashioned fixed line as we rarely retract it!
Glad helped. Sadly, mine has had the tongs break so had to put a make shift screw in place but glad it helped you. If you could, please like the video and subscribe
Probably knotted inside the housing. Not had same issue BUT can you get a chopstick or thin non metal object in there to pry cords apart....avoid metal so as to not cut it. Sadly the housing is sealed so no chance opening. Let us know. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps me.
Yep, which has JUST happened to one of mine. I am now sorting a way to fix, I might do a video to show others. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps me
This was exactly what I was looking for - thanks!
So good to hear.....I am amazed the weather is good enough for you OR do you live somewhere hotter than the UK? Please do subscribe as really helps me

Bro! Thank you so much. I’ve always struggled to loop mine around to make it tight enough so this is incredibly helpful
I thought I needed to buy all different unit or extra components to keep the line taut. This is simple and great!
Thank you! I have one similar to this and it sags when I hang laundry. This helped!!

Your method was the first thing I tried, but it just didn't get the line taught enough.
However, combining this guys method did the job perfect!
Thank you for this comment! I’d been struggling to sort the saggy line for days. Went and tried what you said and bingo! Thank you 😊

Hi I just bought one but mine keep falling off the hook and clothes on the ground 😢is the hook face down or up 😢
The hook for the end you pull the line towards should be hook up. It will hang from it. Please do like the video and subscribe as really helps me.
I use a simple clamp on both lines once they are extended
Good idea. What kind of clamps? Fixed to the wall?
My retractable line is stuck and I can’t pull it out. Any advice is welcome!
