Question: My mother has been trying for years to make the perfect cherry fudge, but it always comes out too soft and gooey, any tips or tricks to firm up the fudge after it's set? Or should we just start again from scratch?

When you say "3/4 cup of cream", should I assume it's heavy whipping cream?

A simple recipe is condensed milk and white chocolate chips
Then fold your cherries in
