My homeland, where I have piloted small boats and kayaks on both sides of the Hudson River and Rondout creek from Poughkeepsie to the city of Hudson. Also I have ridden my bike across all the bridges. Now the locals are getting priced out of the housing market by people buying second homes and existing housing being turned into AirB&B's.
You know what you missed before the Rip Van Winkle was Olana, the Persian style castle perching out over the Hudson on the east side. It has a mystique to it!!!
Ciao... you guys hit the hammer on the nail. Since I follow you on your way, I always ask myself the same question "how are the two in this, or that situation really. Watching your videos on the sofa is always super comfortable - but reality is sometimes different. Stay honest, stay direct and enjoy every day. Cheers 🍻
Great video! I live in the Hudson Valley and glad you are enjoying it! You're visiting some great towns like Kingston and Hudson. You should come back - there's so many beautiful towns and vineyards in the Hudson Valley. Looking forward to your next video.
Oh my gosh that food looked SO GOOD, I had my own mmm counter going because just looking at it had me going mmmm! That town was also VERY CHARMING! Our kinda place 😍😍😍
Glad to see your back and enjoying the upper Hudson. The tide is so important to traveling heading upstream. Things slow down but use that time to enjoy the area.
Those donuts and pizza looked AMAZING! The cruise looked so peaceful and was just beautiful with the mountains, homes and lighthouses! I also loved the town of Hudson…so charming! Keep traveling safe! Oh, did Ollie get some pizza?
One of the benefits of living across the river from the Culinary Institute of America food folks around here really got game. It's the Rondout Creek, or the "Crik"
We live very near Kingston and those stores are so expensive that we can’t go there. They are for people from NYC who have bought second homes up here.
btw I live in Hudson, my house is just out of sight in one shot. I used to tie up my skoop at that dock. That sign is bogus. There is no ordiance nor law nor regulation in Hudson forbidding overnight docking. Tha sign was put up by a fromer Harbor Master on his own initiative for who knows what reason. Yet no one has changed it. Just fyi.
For over the last half century I've never have taken the beauty of the Hudson Valley , the Catskills, and Shawngums for granted
Hudson is a life lesson as why you want a community based upon the fundamental value of acceptance.
Hudson is beautiful now!!! You should've seen it 40 years ago!!!
I think you guys have done a MAGNIFICENT job in showcasing the Hudson Valley from New York Harbor. Your photography is amazing.
Thanks so much Dean 🙏
Yay. The yum counter is back!
😁

Roundout CREEK is also the outflow from several of the main catskill reservoirs for the NYC water supply!
Interesting, thanks for sharing!
