- hey dudes this is my unfiltered opinions of four student accommodations in Glasgow. Hopefully this helps you figure out where you wanna be or maybe it just entertains you a little bit. The PG version of this video is up on the official U of G channel so feel free to give that a peek too. Either way i worked very hard on the vid so if you wanna share or like or do whatever the fuck you do to videos then go ahead. I feel like no one actually reads descriptions lalalal suck my toes
Thank you so much for this honestly!! I'm hopefully coming to Glasgow in September and this was so useful, you're amazing! ps I did read the description lmao x
This was very helpful thank you for taking the time out your day to make this video
Hey your video is really helpful ! I would love to see reviews about the other accommodation options😍 would really help to here reviews from a student, because I would love for the social life to be really good but an en suite bathroom is also very important to me...
Any information would be great :))
Hey, I really loved the video! It was very useful.
I was wondering if there is a possibility of staying at Firhill for less than 44 weeks? Preferably 38 or 40 weeks. Thank you.
This was really helpful. Thanks so much!
Hey, It was a fun watch! I'm going to study at Glasgow this year and Wolfson Hall and its included 2 meals per day is very VERY enciting, is it worth it? How would you rank Wolfson Hall? Thank you sooo much for making this video
I was going to book firhill because it has a onsite car park but I'm in two minds now after what you said about the social life 😭😂
This is really helpful! Clifton house looks amazing but I was just wondering if there will be a lot of other 1st years too? It would be nice to have some people to go to the Freshers' events with and all that
I was thinking the same thing - I have actually already applied and only started thinking about this later... hopefully there will be!!!
Hi! Thank you for your very helpful video! I plan to live in the en-suite in Clifton House. I wonder if 8 people sharing a kitchen is a little bit too crowded?
Hi, love your videos! Do you think it's better to live in a 5 person flat or a 12 person flat?
I love it!
Thanks, I needed an honest review 😂
Thanks for the honest review, if anything we need more of these lol. May I know if there are any other differences between QMU and Kelvinhaugh Gate? So far I know of distance from campus and cost, but I'm wondering if there any other differences not stated on the brochure.
I'm not too familiar with Kelvinhall but I know it's definitely in a better location than QM is (city and university wise). I heard that there were more mature students at Kelvin than QM. Thanks all I know unfortunately :(
@@ellakohn577 thanks for the reply! Hope you're staying safe and healthy in the current situation
Do you know anything about the UofG own Student Apartments (the accommodation which is literally on campus)? I loved watching this video hoped you would make more. ^^
I am going into 1st year and it is pretty hard to choose the right halls for me. The main thing I want is to make friends, I currently have the 2x Kelvinhaugh accommodations and Murano at the top of my list. I am also in my mid-twenties...
Hiya - thank you for this! I was just wondering whether there are students from other unis in Glasgow in the private accommodations/ do you have the same student like experience in private accommodation (particularly Clifton house) as you do in uni halls? Thanks!
Hey! There's no guarantee that your flatmates will be from the same uni as you. Two of my flatmates ended up being being in glasgow city college. You definitely get a more authentic uni experience if you live in university halls or if you have friends who do.
😂 Wise words from LJ. 100%
Hi, I was just wondering if you knew how much it cost to park your car at firhill?? trying to figure out my cheapest option lol
I will be getting into Firhill Court next month for my Master's course. Hope to meet you there🤘
Haha I left a long time ago but enjoy :)
@@ellakohn577 Okay😂
Hi! Thank you for your video! It's very helpful for me as an Erasmus student next year. I just wanted to know on what site did you book your room? Did you go on HelloStudent ?
Hey, what accommodation would you recommend for an international student? I am planning on coming for 1 semester in September till December from New Zealand (:
Hey! Hands down my recommendation would be for Murano. I know they even have separate blocks filled with exchange students and first semester it's the most social place to be if you don't know anyone!
Hey, can I ask you what you know about Cairncross? Would you recommend at all? x
Unfortunately I've never actually been to Cairncross and don't know much about it. I was planning to do another accommodation video regarding the uni ones i hadn't mentioned but Covid-19 stopped that from happening
@@ellakohn577 sucks man. hope you're safe!
Hey Ella! I'm planning to live at Firhill from this Sept ( if things go well). Can you give me any advice or suggestions about the rooms? TIA 😇
The rooms are wonderful, I had no problems with my room at all other than it getting cold during the winter but the heating is great.
🤣🤣 not glad I read the description
Since the university accommodation usually is only for 39 weeks and the masters course would be for 1 year, can you tell what would the students do after 39 weeks? Look for new accommodation?
University accommodation like this is geared towards first year students, whose academic year is 39 weeks. I don't know enough about masters courses to give advice on the topic, sorry :/
Hey! is your room in Firhill ct. bronze or silver(i saw those options on the website) cus it seems kinda big :)
I'm not sure tbh! When I lived there, bronze and silver weren't options
@@ellakohn577 Alright thanks a lot! Also I read in some review on a website there's (been) a rat infestation. Is that still happening or do you have a different experience? lol sorry for the random question
i'm thinking of moving with my cat, was it hard for you to move with urs during first year?
Hey :) I filmed the voiceover bit back at home so my cat didn't come with me to uni.
what subject are you studying :)
I do Psychology :)
