I was going to buy AIR 3S. But I always have the habit of checking the quality of the devices that take photos, downloading the source RAW files for this purpose. After analyzing the image from the AIR3 drone that I currently have and the image from the AIR 3S drone, I came to the conclusion that the difference in the quality of the photo and videos is insignificant. I am a professional photographer and I can draw conclusions from the evaluation of photos. The AIR 3S drone does not give a significant difference in quality and there is no point in changing the current AIR 3 drone to a new one from this series. A significant increase in quality can be obtained by buying the MAVIC 3 Classic drone, and this is the right choice, as well as money well invested.
You are doing it wrong. 1. The complain is that a full 1inch sensor SHOULD have a lot more information and DJI cut that, a thing that is easy to proof as you know HEVC codec and how it works: In HEVC codec, a 18 ratio means a very good quality...this can be achieved by using a simple formula: BITRATE = FPS x 2...Anything under this is cutting details in HEVC. So at 60FPS the Air3S is loosing small details that could be kept there....not to mention the Slow Motion...have you watched the Slow Mo from Air 3S vs Mavic 3? Is a pure joke in term of details. 2. You are fooled by the artificial sharpening in Air 3S...there is no details in small details but just more pronounced edges as the drone is sharpening a lot....can be seen if you get a studio monitor very easy. 3. Because of loose of small fine details and artificial sharpening, the Aliasing and Moire in this drone is crazy high....no one says it will dissapear, but is 30% higher than Air 3....and that because the more compressed HEVC blocks that does not make the fine lines. PS. A hint for so called 14 stops DR: What the sensor does is a double exp and then combine it...but there is a downside too: in some conditions you will see a very tiny ghosting effect on edges....of course, can be seen when edit in a pro manner, but usually Pro's use DLOGM and HLG for a better range in editing... PPS. The HLG you showed in Manual and Auto is wrong, must have same values to compare it, but when you click AUTO you will see your ISO going in intermediate values that you cannot access in MANUAL mode :) ...Also the hystogram is wrong in HLG, have a tendency to overexpose. Cheers.
Last month, I debated the Air 3S Fly More and just got the Mavic 3 Classic with Flymore Combo instead for the larger sensor size and pro quality photographs for the win. I can get a 16 x 20 inch print @ 200 DPI with the Mavic 3 Classic.
Ppl need to remember that upgrade in technology is always better, that’s the whole point why the company make an upgrade, it might just be a lil bit better that’s not worth the upgrade if u already have the previous version but it’s always better
Great video and comparison, well done 👏👍Is the telephoto lens on the Air 3S really better? Can you give me some more information about that. I really would appreciate if you can give me some more details sbout the difference. I thought they are the same? Greetings from a subscriber 🇳🇱
Thanks for the information, I just upgraded from the air 3 to the air 3s. I have not been able to fly it much, but when I have flown it impressed with the results. There is also a lot of talk about the 3s and whether it is better to use 12 mp or 50. Have you tested both the wide angle and zoom as to what is best to shoot photos in. Thanks
I sold my mavic 3 for this drone, and love it so much more for speed and quality of both lenses that match well together. The Mavic 3 wide camera was amazing, but I wanted the 70mm lens, instead of the 166mm lens on the mavic 3 which was not often as useful.
Hi! Thank you for your videos I enjoy them a lot (: can you help me with one question? Me and my wife are content creators on instagram and I am thinking seriously to get the air3s but It doesn’t shoot vertically, the mini pro 4 does but the air look like it’s much better. Is it better to have the mini for vertical shooting or the air will do a good job in that? And last is there an affiliate link I can get it from you ? (: Thank! Michael
Awesome to hear that! If you're mostly doing vertical video, Mini 4 Pro may be better because you can flip the camera. The Air 3S does let you shoot vertical which uses the full height of the sensor, but it's not nearly as good as the Mini 4 Pro's method of flipping the camera to vertical. So i'd say probably M4P. And if you'd like an affiliate link, I shall provide one. Appreciate that haha. For amazon, here are links for A3S and M4P, and for DJI there should be a link to the A3S in the TH-cam description from TH-cam shopping. A3S amzn.to/3VnUz0j M4P amzn.to/4eXyuN2 Hope you can get a good one that works well for you! BTW, if you don't mind sharing, I'd love to check out your IG haha
Thanks for the video. A lot of people complain about moire/aliasing that they found more present on the air3s than other DJI's drone. Did you see something about it ?
Yep, I just did. After this video was done. Shows up really bad on tile rooftops. Haven't tested vs other drones tho. Probably a tradeoff of trying to get high res for 50MP.
I was wondering if you can help me. I ordered an Air3S from DJI and DHL is asking for more info, including wanting me to give them my SS number Which I will not do. Did you ever have to do that?
I'm just a recreational pilot and this is definitely an argument for professional photographers or whatever the professional name is for those who take photos and videos for a living like movie makers etc. Whenever people ask me which drone should they purchase. I ask them if they are professional or average Joe like myself! If they say professional I direct them to DJI drones and backup Autel drones. If they are an average Joe like myself aka recreational pilot. Autel number one and others second place. Because honestly, the majority of us wouldn't even recognize the difference. I chose Autel Evo Lite/Lite plus because generally speaking it does all the work for you. No need to log or color grade etc! Now you can log and color grade but it's no need! Unless you really are that professional type and the DJI acting up. This is why I said Autel as a backup if you are a professional. Nevertheless great work as always.
@gregparker5732 Evo Lite or Lite Plus doesn't have a waypoint feature. But hyper-lapse oh my gosh works great and has cruise control I just learned about it by mistake lol 😆 while flying 😅. I've tested ALMOST all the functions. The AEB functions I've used and it works great! But I either don't understand the purpose or I just don't see any reason to use it unless I'm a professional photographer. I test it out and was pissed I had to sit and figure out which photo I like the most lmao. So it works but again I'm a recreational pilot. Hyper-lapse I love it, it's on my last night video. I wish I had done it longer lmao 🤣. Sorry so long 😅 😭. But so far I've not had any issues. Besides being nervous when testing follow me in the woods. Dumb time to test it right. It avoided crashing but yeah my nerves were bad lmao 🤣 i was not trying to mess it up! So I'll blame myself for that one. Stupid of me to do it while in the woods lmao 🤣. But check out my videos all are in 4k. For some of them, I'm using special functions.
@gregparker5732 I just realized you were talking about the Air3s and not AEB. I thought that was a typo. Smh 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️. Nevertheless yeah Autel Evo Lite and Lite Plus don't have a waypoint. There are big drone guys who have the Evo Lite and Plus as backup for the DJI for their work. They did speak about waypoints but they hardly used them for drone jobs. But having makes the job easier because it doesn't it for you. Sorry I misunderstood you.

Great video!
no signifigant banding? I see the banding more on the 3s in yiour sample.
Are you blind? Way more banding on the Air3s example. Furthermore, the first shot 3s doesn't look more detailed, it looks oversharpened.

You used them both. So where is the better 12 or 50?
Have you practically seen a huge difference going from the Air 3 to the 3s? Like major differences ? Kindly let me know.

The biggest question you still didn't answer, which is better at low light or at night, Billy Kyle said that the are 3s is horrible at night

Bitrate only matters, when the camera ist moving fast. Maybe you can do another test with that.
How to enable HDR video from menu of drone's controller?
Thanks for your effort
Who taught you to turn off the drone by turning it upside down?
Thanks for the video. A lot of people complain about moire/aliasing that they found more present on the air3s than other DJI's drone. Did you see something about it ?

Are you in the US or EU?

I’m in the USA
So in the end you demonstrated that despite the bigger sensor video quality is not improved apart from a slight noise reduction...

How is the Waypoint functions on the Autel Lite. They suck on my EVO 2 and the A3s blow it away for waypoint flying and range.
