    Great video explaining science with respect to tyres ..so does it make sense to replace tyres only before a monsoon ? As tyres are worn out and are reaching the twi will result in more postive grip and may be infact better in the dry then with treads ..it may be silly thought but something to think about

    • @shu_mar
      @shu_mar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s very silly. You’re failing to account for the degradation in tyre rubber quality over the time it took to wear the tread out

    • @shu_mar
      @shu_mar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But while it isn’t the *only* time, just before the rains is the best time to replace tyres

    • @shreyashasane9100
      @shreyashasane9100 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear akshay, in formula 1 when rain tyres (inters) wear out they perform job as slicks (called interslicks). But at the point tyre is worn pretty much and wont last more kms and power delivery also reduces. Thus they continue to use interslicks if the find a dry racing line on track (rain is stopped) and generally change to slicks after a couple of laps.

    So 1 thing i have always wondered is, since the offroad tires are knobby and hence a smaller contact patch on the road does is mean lower resistance and hence faster speed?
    Yes i do understand from your really informative vid that knobby tires wont be as stable but this question has been always in my head! Please answer

  • @N269
    @N269 ปีที่แล้ว

    really like your presentations, very well spoken and concise.
    Question. Why are the front treads opposite to the rear treads on most** tyres (not slicks)?? Looks like the front sweeps water inwards towards the center of the tyre and the rear sweeps the water outwards away.
    ** I've seen the front/rear same in a very, very few instances. I inspect motorcycles as an official for very large events. Manufacturers do put rotation marker on treaded tyres. Dunlop don't put rotation on their KR108/109 (+1/+2/+3) tyres as I believe they are unidirectional.

      I am not an expert but as per my knowledge, i think you shoud maintain a speed between 50-65, take a short break(about 15min) after every 60-70 km. And then take break of about 40 min after every 120-140km depending on your situation. Also for a 110cc bike you can travel for 350-400km a day and take break in between if you have a long trip ahead.
