Went back and compared this with how it looks in an Engine Master's episode, crazy what a transformation a bunch of lights can make on video, such a difference!
1.04 You never know what is gonna come through that door. One thing I've learned after 21 years- this is my Rick Harrison. I'm my son and my old man is a pawn shop. Big Hoss has a story and a price. This is my I work here.
I don't care what the general public thinks fryberger you're ok I still want you to show us the engine master so folks can see the difference or if it's even worth porting and polishing aftermarket heads and manifolds
This is great always wondered about west tech. Seemingly forever but especially after watching the the first mazdarati episode and after pulling the cork ie: glasspacks out of the boat headers it set off car alarms. Bey the way Mazdarati still my favorite roadkill vehicle/motor trend subject. period!!!...
@TheDavidFreiburger I am starting to enjoy these Behind the Scenes episodes more than the actual Roadkills shows- mostly because we get to heat you share your wealth of knowledge on stuff. If only you had a beard- you'd be the Bob Vila of cars! As I imagine with a lot of other viewers I'm limited time and money-wise to work on so many different types of builds and brands so these episodes are great. If you were to start having a bit more of this approach on Roadkill I think it would be great.
Thanks David, always been intrigued about west tech since the earliest roadkill episodes it was featured in (rotsun?), seems like it would become my home away from home.
That header dept (both areas) reminds me of Andy Mannarino's Total Automotive I used to work at. Upstairs was a lot of headers for dyno use. Side note; Directly behind the shop is a residential subdivision and Andy had such a serious muffler system there he'd never had a noise complaint!
They post one episode of of Roadkill Extra and one episode of Daily Fix for free on TH-cam every week. MTOD subscribers get 4 more episodes of each show, plus 5 episodes of Dirt Extra every week.
not necessarily. Could have just swapped timing covers. I've done it to my RB20 before. Though I couldn't imagine anyone affiliated with that shop would waste money on an RB20 though.
David thats a 1940 Chevy pickup at 1:10 ,.. you was close my friend :-) ,.. 1939 had no little lights on the front fenders (turn signals ? ),. 1941 they moved the head lights from the sides of the hood down to the front fenders , got rid of the little lights and had a totally fatter body in 1941 .
I just subscribed to motor trend on demand this past week and I'm really enjoying it. I do think the app could use some work...like the ability to rotate the entire app into landscape, instead of only being able to rotate the episode playing into landscape.
the dinamometer is very easy to build ! Wow ! I was one in our college - and used it for a year , but it's the same principle even if its hp is like 150 - made by a company named : prodit !
There is one good place for the 426 hemi headers, scrap metal pile.Any big block Chrysler back in the day lost horsepower with headers and the factory HP exhaust manifolds out did them.Ask well known Mopar expert Mark Worman of Graveyard Carz.
If that is heaven I'll start believing. If I bought a Blueprint 632 should I have Westech tune it before I get it or does Blueprint do a good enough job?
i think there should be a engine master episode using the same motor but change out the intakes doing a dyno comparison from all the main edelbrock carb intakes to the trickflow r intake and other commonly used carb intakes just my 2 cents
Actually somewhat interesting. That's unusual for RKE. Normally, it's: "Watch me start a car, with no issues whatsoever, after I babble about a rotten tire for seven minutes." Or, "Today, some random dude will show you a shed, and then we'll talk about something vaguely related to working on cars." Or, "We're in a parking lot, and there's a guy. Let's talk to this random guy sitting on a Honda Civic..."

OMG! Great Episode! That place has & does some Amazing Work!!! Header & IM Heaven!
That was a great tour around Westech.
Thanks
Behind the scenes and especially tours like this are brilliant. Really make the shows live for me. More of these please!

after watching engine masters, questions came up about Westech and this behind the scenes answered them - thanks
Appreciate it - nice to see the facility and all the gear.
Great video.....my first time with a full Dyno tour.....thanks for the tour
Boy I could build a kickass motor with everything inside that shop.....love it
Thanks for a longer episode! I appreciate it a ton!!!
I don't care what the general public thinks fryberger you're ok I still want you to show us the engine master so folks can see the difference or if it's even worth porting and polishing aftermarket heads and manifolds
We interrupt our regularly scheduled commercial to bring you this commercial for our pay per view commercials!!!!!
We deserve more of this .
I am so stoked for this MCM Roadkill crossover
that is a ae86 corrola with what looks like from the licence plate a 4age 20 valve in it with itbs. you should have checked out that car fryburger.
SimonTrent8000 how can you tell what engine a car has through it's plates?

That corolla is pretty much the coolest car to ever be seen on the motortrend channel, except for maybe the crusher camaro.
Love engine masters “thanks for showing us the shop “
Freeking awesome. Thanks for the walk around!

Pre-Hellcat Mayhem for me... and.. hm.. .maybe the Draguar on 2nd. Or the Mazdarati.
Interesting tour Dave, thanks for sharing.
I want those float bowls at 8:40.
Great video!! Thanks for the tour
I would sell my soul to work there.... love all the shows..
Oh that's why...continued to watch and have been set straight. ..
I'd love to see a tour of Dulcich's shop(s) out at the farm 🙂
THAT AE86!!!
30GB they probably putting a hemi or chevy engine it in just to do the damge....remember they are sponsored by chevy and hemi....!!!
Irving Torres nope, that's a museum car. They're probably doing restoration work on it
30GB it is ae88
邹凯文 it is "you dont know anything about ae86's"
lol ae86 dumb ass
I love how the intro has an engine struggling to start up, and then at the bottom it says "powered by Dodge"
lmao
place looks great. Its good to see behinds the scenes
ae86 fans jimmies might be rustled now
My jimmies got hella rustled.

that place is awesome wish I had a place like that to play with engines all day
Wow that west tech is awesome! An Steve is such a nice guy, just a real gentleman.
Did I see the headers you smashed up sitting on the rack just before you went upstairs?
I would love to see an actual episode
Rabit Le Savage Show what?
Thanks David, always been intrigued about west tech since the earliest roadkill episodes it was featured in (rotsun?), seems like it would become my home away from home.
I love Engine Masters, so this was really cool to see.
That header dept (both areas) reminds me of Andy Mannarino's Total Automotive I used to work at. Upstairs was a lot of headers for dyno use. Side note; Directly behind the shop is a residential subdivision and Andy had such a serious muffler system there he'd never had a noise complaint!
Freiberger is such a great narrator.
Amazing stuff, that's a dream job you've got right there.
Keep on the good stuff
Wow thanks for all your hard work. Because of it I became a TH-cam junkey.
My first car was a 69 Chevy Impala 327 in blue. It had Astro ventillation baby!
when is the actual roadkill going to air?
Episode 57 will be released this Friday, December 2nd.
That corolla looks awesome!
i like the fact that they did it in just one shot
that 'yota is literally the cleanest looking example i've ever seen
Damn thought you'd be keeping these type of videos ondemand but ya'll posting free ones all the time
They post one episode of of Roadkill Extra and one episode of Daily Fix for free on TH-cam every week. MTOD subscribers get 4 more episodes of each show, plus 5 episodes of Dirt Extra every week.
Oooh...! It's extra and free again...
SO EXCITED FOR MIGHTY CAR MODS VIDEO!!!!
legendary place.
Thank's for the tour 👍🏽
I would like to have some headers to my very first V8 purchased this year a 454 V, maybe dual 3 " 🙄
that ae86 is SSSOOOO CCLLLEEAAAAAANNN
I'll take the AE86 (Isn't it an AE88 for the US Spec LHD?) Corolla please thanks
Figureight nope, that AE88 stuff is a myth, just because the VIN says AE88 doesn't mean that its not an AE86
That Corolla GT-S needs to have a write-up done! Looks like mine, except, mine is truly original, right down to its shiny original red paint.
That was pretty cool.
badass shop!
Fantastic. Thanks.
Steve reminds me of that "rubbing is racing" race manager of days of thunder
incredible and bad ass thank you
good stuff! keep up the good work!
still less then 5k views, i wish that shop was closer to me
ill be stopping by soon to get my 68 ford dynoed
This looks like a great thing.
Damn Freiburger! One does not simply glance over an AE86!
lmao never thought id see an rb in the vicinity of freiburger
SWEET ! - I want one !
Wow Freiburger has shoes on
MAD MIKE can't believe no one else commented
:D :D :D :D
He has has shoes when drag racing... they're probably drag racing after that shoot. :D
i saw him welding in those flip flops
Spotted an RB25 in there... With a stock turbo. XD
Braskus I'm glad I wasn't the only one to see that, it made me a tad gitty.
Braskus I'm glad I wasn't the only one to see that, it made me a tad gitty.
Braskus is it a 25 couldn't tell off the second it was on screen whether it's a 20 or 25
It had the bump on the intake cam side of the cam gear cover for the vvt. RB25 came with that, not the 20. so its a 25 :)
not necessarily. Could have just swapped timing covers. I've done it to my RB20 before. Though I couldn't imagine anyone affiliated with that shop would waste money on an RB20 though.

I liked the red 'vette up on the hoist more, too bad it was covered.
I just subscribed to motor trend on demand this past week and I'm really enjoying it. I do think the app could use some work...like the ability to rotate the entire app into landscape, instead of only being able to rotate the episode playing into landscape.
I would love to go rummage around in those parts for my car! 😆
Fantastic!
the dinamometer is very easy to build !
Wow !

I've been driving a first gen '68 Corolla for almost 30 years now.
Jeez, 24 fps pan shots are killing me.
IKR, and ppl pay for this?
Randoom I have MTOD and everything is perfectly fine for me. No framey, no sound distortion, nothing
I doubt it. Shouldn't they upload better quallity to YT to show the best they can do?
Randoom You mean 4K or better fps?
Both.
There is one good place for the 426 hemi headers, scrap metal pile.Any big block Chrysler back in the day lost horsepower with headers and the factory HP exhaust manifolds out did them.Ask well known Mopar expert Mark Worman of Graveyard Carz.
cool vid. good energy.
5:41 David spots a part he's been looking for😂
you forgot to show us the inside of the refrigerator.
If that is heaven I'll start believing. If I bought a Blueprint 632 should I have Westech tune it before I get it or does Blueprint do a good enough job?
This was one of the best shows on Motortrend. Such a shame Discovery ruined everything.
I like how they are sponsored by Ams oil and there is a big palette of lucas on the trailer at the end.
Westech Performance Group is sponsored by Lucas Oil. Engine Masters is sponsored by Amsoil.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone
You didnt mention the amazing zip tie arrangement on the efi box 😂
i think there should be a engine master episode using the same motor but change out the intakes doing a dyno comparison from all the main edelbrock carb intakes to the trickflow r intake and other commonly used carb intakes just my 2 cents
just a heads up- that blower has worn Teflon rotor seals and will not make boost
When is the MCM V RK video coming out?
Brap Brap pretty sure mcm said before the end of the year
Brap Brap I think they gonna make it Christmas Special
Don't hold your breath for YT... bet MTOD gets it this year.
well mtod just got an episode yesterday and it wasn't the mcm one...
It's being released on RoadKill's YT, MTOD, and MCM's YT all at the same time according to MCM.
"It's lit crazy" -David Freiburger
Watch crazy junkyard finds part 2 plus lots of rare carsI think for an episode of road kill you guys should rescue that corvette
I would love to see what they can do with a 200cid I am building. Of course, I want one of ther 200's they build in Australia.
I would love to take a tour of that place
the real question is whats that rb25 engine getting done to it lol at 9:55
I need two things. A big box truck. And a locksmith to make me a key to this place. 😉
137 people didn't like this episode because they are JELOUS
Actually somewhat interesting. That's unusual for RKE.

ehem sir that's a corolla gts, a respectable car that is the epitome of driving ecstasy
Can you check difference in power with hot and cold gasoline on engine masters.
That AE86 is by far my favorite car there :/
**Goes crazy over an LS-swapped dune buggy, shrugs when he sees a legendary, mint condition AE86 GT-S Hatch**...
David Freiburger? Never heard of him.
