Hi, I fit several parts of the clout-buyer segment. Here is my defense on the matter: I bought a 3000GT rotting in a yard for $750. It's an SL, not a VR4. I never liked them growing up, I just thought it drove nicely when I got it running and decided to make it outlive me. While I didn't know how to work on cars when I bought it, it became a platform for me to learn from while I spent thousands restoring it despite it's poor appearance and 230,000+ mile life. Finally, it's a daily-driver so 3 years into the restoration it at least looks like I didn't bite off more than I could chew. (I know a statement like this wasn't asked for, but honestly that segment stressed me out so much I had to tell myself I'm not that person)
nah man u should not feel bad. like i dont even have a car yet and i know iam a car guys. iam 19yr old my dad is chronically sick. my contract from work didnt get extended so i need to find a new job again etc,etc... i cant get a loan until i get an extended contract. so i drive my dads car. I dont know how to work on a car. i know how to work on a scooter and thats a begin. Look we all fitted somewhere in this list at sometimes. the midlife crisis guy wasnt always a midlife crisis guy. like u felt like u would fit into clout buyer and maybe you WHERE but now u actually are a car guy who treats and cares for the car. being a car guy doesnt mean 'go fast , make cars go faster or track times' iam a car guy and my dream would be a Classic blue white walls Cadi. or a Firebird. keep it 100% stock. thats even harder than upgrading it imo. Car guy means being someone who loves cars. racers,classics,.... basically everyone who treats a car with love dont matter how u drive with it (when ur not crashing it every 5weeks) drifting, racing or even cruising with a supercar doing some pulls on a highway at night is fine. everyone can be a carguy if u have an intrest for cars and restoring/repairing/etc them. love to ya man. there will always be dickheads in the car community but thats everywhere the same piece of cake :/ also Simracers who build cars like example me. i make a regulair r32 into a race car that can keep it with GR.3 cars in gran turismo 7. i put HOURS into that r32 to get it perfect and people asked me the tune but i aint giving them. i gave em a base tune but not my tune. like ur moddifying differential, gearbox, downforce, height, tire width, car weight,... I dont have money to do it IRL so i try to do it in a realistic game.

I like car guys that maintained their 80s-90s JDM cars and they still look brand new. Im a real sucker for that era of vehicles and seeing them well maintained has always impressed me more then any modded car
As a devout member in the church of rotary, I whole-heartedly agree with your entry with one small issue; you forgot to "brapbrapbrapbrap vrrrrRRRRR STUTUTU"
(I know a statement like this wasn't asked for, but honestly that segment stressed me out so much I had to tell myself I'm not that person)
youre chillin though cause you put in the effort to learn and made it a real thing for yourself
that's not really clout buying
nah man u should not feel bad. like i dont even have a car yet and i know iam a car guys. iam 19yr old my dad is chronically sick. my contract from work didnt get extended so i need to find a new job again etc,etc... i cant get a loan until i get an extended contract. so i drive my dads car.
@@thegreat13ifarmu75 damn, sorry about ur dad, I hope things get better for you man

My best friend bought a 3000 GT not knowing how horrible fixing them is, and he asked me what to do. I just told him to let me sell it to a DSM collector who knows how to fix them
26. The mechanic. Someone who has a normal car and fixes everything. Adds some mods for functionality and comfort.
27. The outdoorsman. Mods it to go off road. That's it.
The Race Fan: recreates an entire livery on a car that doesn’t even have the livery, yet it somehow looks good

@@qua7771 Well, that's goes without saying. Right now I'm broke-a$$ student. But I'm planning to have one a daily-drive car and another car for "fun drive". I still don't know what kind of car it will be - some kind of not too expensive performance car, or a sleeper. It will depend on my income.
7:22 Is the reason I love Barn Find TV shows on Discovery Turbo. There is always hope that someone will find an old rusting hulk of a 90's car and restore it to former glory. It won't help a younger buyer attain their dream car, but it will at least be saved from the ravages of the elements.
