- I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my video creation workflow, so in this video I want to walk you through it from start to finish. I plan my videos in Notion, then record in Ecamm (usually), and edit Descript.

Nicely done. Thank you! :)
Thank you! Love how uncomplicated your system is while still being thorough. Super helpful! 💐
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you found it helpful ❤️
Besides being a sucker for studio tours, I'm a sucker for video workflows too.
Really nice overview. I've played with Notion some but never got into it. May have to rethink that after watching your vid.
Re: editing. Glad Descript works for you but I'm still a FCP dude!
Good stuff!
Thanks Kevin!
@KevinKolbe if you use Gling AI it will export an FCP file for you that you can open and continue to edit. It's pretty slick.
@@thejasontlewis I have used Recut to do something similar, which is cool Heard of Gling, just haven't used it.
@@KevinKolbe I found it early on. I think the developer sent me an email. A lot of other tools have been putting in similar functionality like descript in this video. I like that Gling will spit out a regular fcp doc or multicam. And I've found the edits to be pretty decent.
@@thejasontlewis nice. Probably will check it out. Thanks for the tip!
I like your desktop how clean an tidy it is …. As mine 🤦♂️🤣🤣
Nicely done. These BTS videos are very helpful.
BTW, might you have a link (affiliate?) to Canva? You use it, but there's no link.
No, they got rid of their affiliate accounts for people who don’t create regular canva content 🤔 thanks for asking!
Hi, I really enjoyed your video. I was wondering if your Notion Workflow document is available anywhere?
It’s available inside my membership but I might make it the topic of my next episode 😊
Meredith, do you offer the actual script that you are using in this video anywhere? It looks like a great resource.
Hi Sarah! It’s one of the many resources available inside Thriving Creators Society ❤️
I have a sub to Descript and starting my video editing. Are you using Descript exclusively over Final Cut Pro for your editing?
I used descript edit this video and all my podcast videos. If I need fancier stuff I use descript first then bring it into premiere pro to polish it up
@@meredithmarsh I love your response! I've been podcasting for 10 years and just within the last couple of months, I now do a rough cut in Audacity and a final cut in Descript of my podcast. I'm a current student of your course 30 Days To A Thriving TH-cam Channel and I loved the confirmation where you simply started the video editing talking about a "rough cut". It was a simple "Duh" moment for me of why wasn't I doing this all along. Combining my knowledge with one editor and leveraging the power of Descript with the AI crutch word remover, space remover and studio sound has been a great new workflow for me. Now, on to learning video editing. Thanks for all your content!
@@GeekinOnWDW awesome! Love to hear that!!
I am so DANG frustrated with Descript. I just bought the year long subscription but keep running into issues. I recorded my video on my phone camera this morning and uploaded it into descript to edit, and the video coloration on my face is ALL wrong. I have no idea how to fix it. There are coloration settings in descript (but I have no idea how to edit it to make my face look right). I uploaded the same video files to iMovie, and everything looks fine. I don't get it. I wish i could make my workflow be as simple as yours in this video!
Oh man that stinks 😮
I run into the same issues. It changes the colors of the video and also the compression.
I also had isses with the mic being out of sync.
I now use ecamm live for my recordings and wanted to use the text editing feature of Descript for my rough cut, but I am thinking about just becoming faster in Final Cut Pro because the quality loss in Descript annoys me so much.
The support claims that there isn't any issue with the quality but I can see it with my own eyes. What a pity, the text editing is so cool.
@@SimoneEppler does descript change the color of your video that you record in ecamm??
I'm so triggered by your desktop 😵
Me too 💀 (I cleaned up all the icons on Friday 🥳)
@@meredithmarsh Nice. I was joking of course, but I have my system set up so nothing actually shows on the desktop although I can get to stuff in the desktop folder. I like looking at the pretty pictures.
@@thejasontlewis is this possible on a MacBook and if so how?
@@stottsc2003 It is. That's what I use. Here's how:
Open the Finder menu from the desktop toolbar
Select Preferences
Click the General tab
Uncheck all the boxes under Show these items on desktop
