My dad was an independent O/O. He ran from SC- CA & back. I remember when these KW's ruled the roads. Especially the later Aerodyne. They were a sight to see at night. Several in a row, with all the gleaming chrome and lights. Flying down the interstate.
You did an outstanding job getting her up and running, now you need the essential parts to keep her running. new air/exhaust stacks, new fuel tanks, new tires, everything needs to be replaced.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 Almost looks like you have a stash of old trucks & parts. Good to see some of these old rigs come out of the woods & find it’s place back among the living. So this is a 1976 model KW? Was this part of your family’s trucking company or just one you picked up along the way? Got any background history on this rig? It is such a cool rig & hope that it finds a good, new home. Looks like the frame is metal & not aluminum. That’s good. Cabovers Rule!! The truck is located in Lakeville,OH? Blessings!🥰😎✌️
i saw this truck for sale by 2 different people on marketplace! one said it was a 1975 the other said it was 1976 one wanted 5000 the other wanted 6500. can you clear this up???
It’s somewhere between a 77, and an 81. 77 they went to the one piece molded fibreglass roof, instead of the 3 piece with the aluminum centre section that’s riveted. In 82 they moved the dipstick access door from the front of the cab next to the grill, to the cab skirt just back from the passenger side wheel area. The paint scheme ( the lines ) are a KW design. Unfortunately the dent in the front corner above the drivers side headlights will be expensive to fix properly. The fibreglass headlight panel is easy to fix, but the courier cab skin would have to be fabricated, The drivers side floor is riveted to that panel right where the dent crease is. The other dents are easy to fix. It’s the budget level cab trim package. There doesn’t appear to be any visible corrosion on the cab. Nice to see a bumper on a truck that age that’s not damaged. Thanks for sharing.
Be cool to build an Aerodyne style top to it so you could stand up in it and get out of bed without knockin' yer noogan off the ceiling 🙂 They provide the best view of the road while driving them with the elevation and the no nose aspect of things. King of the road, Cat-bird seat as the real old folks would say 🙂
Por favor no le saques las calcomanías de los estados, me recuerda cuando era niño a finales de los 70,s y llegaban a Chile los camiones usados de Estados Unidos con esas calcomanías y yo alucinába con ser camionero en USA. 😉👍🏿
@@charliesmotorsports6301 oh I know that a lot of times you can crank the hell out of them and they will start on their own. But then you got some people to think every time you start something old got to spray the shit out of it with either if it doesn't start with in 2 seconds of cranking🤣🤣
That truck is really rough put the price up no guessing about it it's going to be hotter than a backup a trailer you're looking at 2k too 35 k thousand bucks to get it done so the bottom line how much you looking to get out of that you pulled it out of fuel you put some time in it what's the bottom line
Do you still have it or is it gone? What year is it? Bad air tank and needs tires so based on the year I will make you an offer. Thanks, Don Van Winkle, Retired Navy Chief

Back in the days when many trucks had beautiful eye catching paint schemes. Nowadays, most are just one plain color.
