Sometimes it can be much easier for teachers to talk to leads about all the steps necessary to accomplish moves, and can forget to teach all of the things that a follower needs to do to feel them. Teachers might say vague or unhelpful things like "just follow," "it's always the leader's fault," or "don't anticipate."
For me, it's impossible to do a good job only thinking about what I SHOULDN'T think about. In this video, we'll talk about what followers SHOULD think about, as well as some of the fundamental differences in the technical goals of followers and leaders.
I am making videos that correspond with each of the technical ideas that follows want to keep in mind (rhythm, shape, momentum, dancing), but I wanted to give an overview of what I think about in general. Hopefully you find this helpful!
