It's such a shame that so many of us (myself too often included) dread life and more or less drift along. Especially considering The State of Things(TM), it's hard to look forward to the future. And it's a shame that it takes a near-death experience or a death sentence to actually start to revel in the time we have here. It's a reminder I need to hear, and helps to get me out of the slump I've been in lately.

@@abifeltham what stage is your cancer? I know that brain cancer is the worst cancer to get :( ( all cancer is bad but brain cancer is difficult to work on)
Abi are they (doctors) able to remove it completely? is their any positive news? 😢

@@michaelhawkins7389 it's a grade 3 oligodendroglioma - they managed to get 90% out in surgery. The positive news is that I'm still here and still have time to live my life well, even if its shorter than i would have wanted😊

Have really enjoyed all of your videos & shorts. I am a former cocaine addict & I used to use alcohol in a very negative way. I am also diagnosed with BPD. It was oddly nice to see videos of someone who has had similar problems to me. Made me feel a little bit less lonely for a moment. Your outlook on cancer & life is very refreshing. But yeah, just wanted to say thanks! Stay strong, you can do anything. You're awesome! 😊

I feel you. Thanks for the video.
I'm a 47 year old guy and was diagnosed with glioblastoma grade 4 about 3 months ago. To say it was life changing is a severe understatement. Prognosis is 18 to 22 months but you never know. I'm shooting for longer. My oncologist likened it to shooting an arrow into the sky - it will land eventually(death) but you don't know exactly when or how far away. I like that analogy. I wish I had 15 years to live but I'm not sure. I feel sometimes that I can't allow myself the luxury of thinking that. It's been the worst time of my life, easily. But the only way I can square it away in my head(pun intended) is to realise I am on a timeline anyway, death was always going to come for me - know I know, barring some accident, how I will most likely die. I sometimes feel some relief from that but I worry more for my family and my girlfriend. I feel guilty for bringing this into their lives and for them having to adjust to having a loved one with this. It's a terrible feeling and I do my best to suppress it but when I'm feeling down in general, it rears it's ugly little head.
Folks, don't put things off. Do what you want to do. Your health and time on this planet are finite - don't be lured into thinking you'll be here forever - you WON'T. I've put off doing my art for YEARS and I regret that. Will try now to make up for lost time. Life is so bittersweet, don't let fear hold you back.
Anyone going through the same or something similar, best of luck to you. Do everything you can to prolong your time, that's what I'm going to do.

ugh i love you (i mean, not in a creepy stalker way, but in like a, yes please i will sit down and listen about cancer now way)
Edit: Finished the video. Wow. That's really a lot. Thanks for sharing. You've been through so much, and I can just feel the wisdom oozing out of you. I really hope the next chemo cycle isn't too bad for you. My dad was on chemo for 10 years, and he took it like a trooper, but occasionally he would go on "chemo vacations", especially when he wanted to be feeling good for big events or family trips etc. Chemo can really be tough.
For a future video idea, I would love to get your take on life and the meaning of life. You say that you used to not want to live, and now you are sad you can't live longer. And I don't often have the privilege of hearing a lot of success stories on beating dark places in life, so I'd love to hear yours.
For me, I'm probably still closer to the dark place in life. This past year, I started running out of places to run from my emotions and they weren't very nice when they finally caught up to me lol. But I think they were just trying to tell me something important. That I'm not meant to be living the life that I had been living. And its easy to think, well then life isn't for me (also because society kept just telling me there's nothing wrong with my life, I just need to be grateful and content). But I think the actual answer is to just change my life, not get rid of it. So I'm slowly starting to rediscover who I am and to reposition myself into a life I feel truly excited and connected to. I'm hoping it sticks lol.

Hi Abi, thank you for sharing!
I was diagnosed with BRCA positive breast cancer. Did chemotherapy, radiation, and now I’ve been prescribed Olaparib as “preventative” - which I call bullshit tbh.
I haven’t taken it yet. Too scared. The side effects are actually horrible (Acute Myeloid Leukemia, to name one) which makes me not want to take it all and instead pray for a miracle.
I’m still in my 20’s. I can’t stop crying. I feel so lost. This is so unfair.

I love your sense of humor. I suffered from bad migraines about once a year that put me in the ER. Here in America they always wanted to do a CT scan to rule out anything more serious. Anyway, years later, totally out of the blue, I had a ruptured brain aneurysm. The neurosurgeon said I needed immediate surgery so I didn’t have any time to think about it which was a good thing. I wish you all the best.

Hey Abi, can I just say I find your content so inspiring and optimistic, but also realistic. Throughout my life I have had many fears but the one that always comes up for me is cancer, I knew someone recently who worked at my school that unfortunately passed away due to brain cancer a couple of months ago. It has been so uplifting to see that even in something as dark and gloomy as cancer there is still hope, and that it doesn’t have to be something that takes joy from our lives. I believe that you will have some of the best years of your life leading forward and hoping that there are many more to come after that fifteen year mark 😊

Think about it all the time since I’m a nurse on a telemetry unit and we have patients regularly that have just been hospitalized with symptoms or just found a mass in their brain… had 2 in the last few weeks. Most of the time it’s benign or an abscess but if you have symptoms like headache that won’t go away, weakness on both or one side of the body, nausea and vomiting, vision changes… get ruled out for stroke and they would see any mass during that imaging.

Hi Abi, thanks for your videos, I love your sarcastic sense of humour.
As a recovering ppl pleaser my addiction has always been never disappointing others and routinely ignore my needs and boundaries, as saying no would bring immense guilt. The extent I twisted and disrespected myself to please others and the manipulation and gaslighting I received in exchange …
Therapy helped immensely to make me aware of these patterns and eventually gave the courage to stand up for myself, guilt free.
Another thing that helped immensely was listening to Gabor Mate speeches and reading his books, if you haven’t already read them I highly recommend them.
I now know that the spiritual (not necessarily religious) aspect of our lives needs addressing too.
I wish you all the best with your cancer journey ❤ keep up the great work xxx

Please do a deep dive for Joe Tippens and that fen ben has been successful for treating many different cancers. People have also, even after conventional treatments, taken fen ben prophylactically to treat possible future cancers. It was by sheer coincidence after watching your video that in the follow-up thumbnails of suggested videos, Dr John Campbell popped up in a thumbnail titled: Fen Ben for Cancer? As a clue, he has been chastised for being too specific on certain platforms so he's being careful in what he says. In addition, please also investigate THC apoptosis.
