Near the bridges when you say stay to the right, even though buoys are more left and closer to shore - do you mean as far right as to the right of the concrete arch in the water (if that visual makes sense). - like on the other side of it - or just closer to that pillar then to the buoys?
Hey!! Yes, that is what my plan is. Unless kayaks force you to stay left of the concrete column, I’m going to stay to the right on the final two bridges. It’s not a huge distance in the water from the buoys but 30-ish feet could make a big difference with the current. (Let me know if this doesn’t make sense).

If you want open water, a lot of people like the Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area. There’s also a ymca downtown.
