100 Subscribers Celebration and Appreciation! THANK YOU!
Awesome seeing your family running together. For me I do most of my winter running on the treadmill. Put on netflix or TH-cam and run.
I’m so thankful for our treadmill too! It’s a great way to get in a run even when the weather isn’t cooperating.
Thank you very much :)
You are very welcome! So glad you found it helpful!
Ha, Caleb’s quite funny. Enjoyed watching this one. I love the idea of the Boston Marathon tree ornament!!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! He makes me laugh too! I’m a sucker for a good ornament. Our tree is slowly being taken over by running/triathlon ornaments. 😂
@ We have a Christmas tradition of taking the kids shopping for tree ornaments (they get to choose one each)…at some stage we’re gonna need a bigger tree!
Good luck! I am actually just beginning a block to finish the Myrtle Beach Marathon on March 1st!
Awesome!!! Good luck to you as well!
HAPPY TURKEY DAY from 🇨🇦 .Trying to convince my wife to let me get a massage gun. As a side note are you running Myrtle Beach Caleb and do you have a time goal as well?
Hey Wayne! Since Katie brought the kids to cheer me on this year at Myrtle, I’m returning the favor! I’ll be on Sherpa duty with the kids! Cheering and handing off nutrition will be my role! (And hopefully getting some good video footage!!!
Wow you guys are so supportive of each other.
Hey , Happy Thanksgiving. watching from NY 😃
Happy Thanksgiving from NC! 🦃 Thanks for watching!
You definitely have 3:10 in you!!! You and Caleb and the Salisbury and China Grove running Groups have been such an inspiration to me. Finding the right group is important and putting the right people around you that inspire you makes all the difference.
Thanks Jamie! I feel the same way - having the right people in your corner makes all the difference in the world! Thanks for being a part of our community and for the words of encouragement!
A running community is awesome. We are very lucky here in Wellington, New Zealand that our small city has a huge and vibrant running community. This includes harrier clubs as well as more social clubs
Get it girl!!! 👏💪 Love how many runners power tapped during the race!
Haha! Those signs are a little worse for the wear, but so glad they make people smile!
Good luck with your marathon goal. Ive noticed with me recently I'm getting faster with plyometrics. Looking ro PR as well in sub 2:45 but probably won't happen. Ran 2:49 11 years ago but super shoes are amazing, so maybe?
That’s incredible! With a fast course and super shoes, you totally got this!
Great to hear that you’re starting a new marathon block! Me and my two girls will be following with great interest!
Thanks SO much for watching and for commenting! That is so encouraging! How old are your girls?
@@EfirdStrong Our girls are 4 and 7. They are (mostly) willing participants in their dad's running journey :)
That’s exactly how old ours are! Love it!
Awesome video!!! Congrats on your PRs!!! 💪🎉
Great content! And goodness, your kiddos are adorable!
Thanks Kim! You are so kind! I’m so inspired by you and so thankful to call you friend!
I quite enjoyed the kids race! Good luck Katie!
Thank you!!
Congratulations, guys!! This is going to be my first marathon next year. Nervously excited already! Thanks for all of the tips and advice.
Oh man! There is nothing like your first, and MCM is an amazing one! So excited for you!
my watch clocked in at 26.38mi. i was focusing on limiting weaving and taking the tangents, for whatever that's worth. great vid!
Wow! Thanks for sharing. Good to know it can be done! That’s impressive - and very smart!! I definitely weaved quiet a bit at the beginning.
Congrats on the Prs. Really cool that you finished so close together. Finished my first marathon in 6 years a few days ago and now I' can't wait to do another. I've caught the bug again.
Wayne! So good to hear from you again! Whoo hoo! 🥳 Which one did you do, and which one is next?
@EfirdStrong I did the Road to Hope marathon in Hamilton Ontario and I'm doing Manchester England next and debating about doing Chicago. Want to run a PB before it's too late and I find in the big marathons it's hard to achieve that.
@EfirdStrong that mile with the memorial to those soldiers is really cool. Got me emotional as well, I don't know if I'd be able to finish it.
Congratulations on the PRs and very good video.
Thanks so much! So glad we listened to you and went for it!
Great video, I ran the 2022 race and had a similar experience. Legs went numb at about mile 23 and would have stepped off except for much vocal encouragement from the spectators. I thought the hill at the finish was a relief from the slog, it may have been the adrenaline. My watch said 26.75 miles but I was definitely not optimizing the tangents. What a great experience, hope to do it again someday.
Yes! The adrenaline and crowd support definitely help a ton! I’d love to do it again as well. I can see why everyone speaks so highly of it!
Congrats! I am new to running the marathon, what are common pains you feel late in the race? Do your arms and chest hurt or just legs? What has been your experience w wall?
That’s awesome! It’s an incredible experience. For me personally it’s just the fatigue. My legs get tired and I just lose steam. The wall usually hits somewhere between 15-21. A solid nutrition plan can definitely help with that though! Good luck to you!
Nice Vid! Congrats on your PRs!
Thank you! It was a special day!
Took a lot of pressure off about trying to make it to T1. Carrabba’s was perfect! Thank you!
Oh yay! I was hoping someone would follow up with how it went! Thanks so much for commenting!
Super helpful! Thanks for the tips!
Y’all are THE BEST! I know your support meant the world to them, as it did to us! You guys rock!
Thanks Katie! This was really helpful to understand the layout.
Hope y’all have a great time! It’s beautiful (just not quiet as easy for spectating as Chatty is!) You guys are awesome friends and the best supporters/cheer squad! Wish we could be there!
Thanks so much! I’m doing this race for the first time this year and appreciate the helpful tips. Good luck this weekend!
Thanks for watching and commenting! Hope you have a great race! It’s one of our favs!
How was the new bike course elevation? I’m looking at signing up for 2025, but I’m coming from a very very flat area of the US.
I got 3,652. I know it’s all relative to where you train, but didn’t think the hills were that bad.
This will be my 5th 70.3, but my first one in NC. Love the tip about watching the sunrise. I tend to get a little nervous before these races and my heart rate spikes when I hit the water.
Same! And I felt like the whole day went by so fast, it was nice to have a few moments to catch my breath. It’s such an amazing race, you will love it!
My husband did the Ironman 70.3 NC last year and here is his tip. He tucked his FITKICKS foldable water shoes inside his wetsuit and put them on as soon as he got out of the water. He said they worked great for him and he will be doing this again next week.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I haven’t heard of FITKICKS, but I will have to check them out. That sounds like a great tip!
Fantastic video ya'll!!! I did this one last year and am doing it again next week....and these are SUCH helpful tips!!!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I can see why you are doing it again - it is SUCH a good one!!! Hope you have a great race!
I was packing up my swim and bike bags when I got the notification. Broke my soul, and said 100% the same things. Hundreds of hours training and that was time away from my kids.. anyone telling you that your feelings aren’t valid, they don’t have a clue the work you put in. Big thing is - look at how hard you two trained to have the confidence to decide keep going and finish the race, Ironman-character!
I so appreciate you saying that. Thanks for watching and commenting! How did the day go for you? Will you do another one?
TH-cam suggested your video, great video but the background music is too loud.
Thanks for watching. Feedback like this is always helpful. This one was edited quickly on the phone. So hopefully it’s fixed going forward.
Beautiful perspective! Swim or no swim, the time and effort you put forth to race this Ironman with grace and grit is remarkable! I know you have so much gratitude for the strong minds and bodies you have continued to develop over the past 20 weeks. Enjoy the journey! Go crush it out there!!!
We are so blessed to have y’all in our corner! 🥹
Great Perspective!
Crying? You guys are acting like it’s a death in the family. It’s not a big deal. It’s a canceled swim. With Ironman now, you should expect that. There’s people that have lost everything from the Hurricane and people are crushed from a missed swim. Move on. You’re still an Ironman if you finish.
Hey! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. We know you could be watching a lot of other things so thanks for watching. If you are also racing Sunday, good luck 👍🏼
While this post comment isn't very empathetic or accurate.....it's perspective nonetheless. There are a lot of families who no longer have a home as a result of the weather. Look for the sliver lining. Remember the real success is the journey and new habits formed from training. The race is simply the result of strong discipline, time management and a healthy lifestyle. You still have all those things and you can continue to do those things if you choose to!!
It sucks but better to be safe than sorry. Alot worse things going on in the world. Enjoy what you can do rather than the things you can't. I'm sure people will be bummed but enjoy the day.
Hey Stu! Great perspective! Take care!!
Just got to Chatty today. First timer as well. Very bummed but God has a plan…I am a pastor and am here wife my wife who is here to cheer me on. Hope to see you guys while we are here. Father God…thank you for who you are and how you love and protect us, even when we don’t understand. I pray for your strength and grace to get us through this race and with each turn of the pedals and each step taken on the run and we will be sure to give You the glory. I pray this in Jesus name… amen!
Amen!!! Yes, I’ve said a few times to Caleb I just have to remember God is in control, His plan is always best, and what is it that He wants to teach me through this? Thank you for your prayers and hope you have a great race tomorrow!
Oh, and I add you guys to my tracker! ❤
Thanks Scott! 🙂
@@EfirdStrong hope you guys had a good race. Your times sure said you did. Ya’ll were flying! 👍
Well said! God bless you guys and have a great race.
Thank you so much!
Great video. I love the reflection at the end. It was my dream to run Boston & that will be happening in 2025 after being accepted earlier in the week. 😀
Congrats!!! That’s so awesome! Enjoy every second! It’s an amazing experience!
Thank you for such a helpful video! This is my husband’s 3rd full Ironman and I’ll be there with my two kids this weekend! You wouldn’t happen to have some of these logistics written out would you? Thank you so much and good luck!! 💜
So glad it was helpful! I’m sorry I don’t really have anything typed up. Chattanooga is pretty easy to get around and navigate once you get here though. It’s spectator friendly and great for families! Good luck to your husband, and to you! It should be a great day!
Just got my 2025 Boston Marathon acceptance earlier this week, and your videos have been so helpful -- thank you!
Congrats! That’s exciting! You will love it!!!
What a great video! Super informative. My daughter and son-in-law are racing this weekend and we have a dozen in our support crew including little ones, so this is great info! Thanks for taking the time to put it together and best of luck to you and your race!
That’s awesome! Thanks so much commenting. I hope they have a great race and y’all have a great time!
Massive thank you for this. Where would you suggest one start and finish their pre-race swims in the 2-3 days before the race?
If you want open water, a lot of people like the Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area. There’s also a ymca downtown.
Thanks for the video! Unless I’m missing something though, the Athlete guide has Saturday athlete check-in times.
You are correct! We made this video before the 2024 athlete guide came out. That was a big change that they are offering a Saturday check-in from 9-11 is year.
@@EfirdStrong got it. You’re good. I appreciate the efforts with the video. Still very helpful
Thank you! Hope you have a great race! See you in Chatty!!!
Thanks for the video! Check-in on Friday would be a no-go for me. Just like a full distace triathlon, so everything is ok 🙂
The athlete guide just came out, and surprisingly this year they actually have Saturday check-in from 9-11.
Thank you! Very helpful since I’ve never done this Ironman before.
Glad it helped! Good luck and see you in Chattanooga!!
thanks for the video....looking forward to finishing the most!
Same! Can’t wait to ring that bell and cross that finish line! Best of luck to you!
I love that, “To the glory of God” obsolete!! ❤❤❤
Amen!!!
Yeah…I like that!
Love this!!!! Can't wait to see y'all there....thanks for the great tips!
great video! I'll see you in Chatt!
Awesome! See you there!
Great video!!! Thanks for the shoutout….can’t wait to cheer you on 👏🎉👏🎉 Maybe, just maybe, you’ll cross the finish line together?!
Aww that would be so special! I’ll truly be happy if we just both cross the finish line!
Yes marriages are not difficult enough, let’s add some competition!😂😂
Bahaha 😂 definitely keeps thing from getting boring!
