I've been doing a 20x25s warmup underwaters set with variations for the past year. 4 wide kicks, 4 narrow kicks, 6 power, 6 speed...definitely gonna start implementing the tempo progressions in now!
How amazing that this guy is on another level, in the video his time in 25m underwater on fast tempo without jump start in the startblock is around 10s. Keep up the goodwork champ, you inspire a lot of people and We are grateful to be able to learn from the best👍👍
Maybe a video on how to master the basics: Kick, breathing, turns, stream line. Practice habits that a swimmer has to have in order to try to be competitive, such as doing x dolphin kicks in each lap, how to breathe in short sets to recover, etc. The mentality, in difficult practices, things like that. I've never seen that and these are the things that no one teaches you but everyone needs. What an incredible video and thanks for sharing all this Caeleb, looking forward to what comes next 🫡
@@Caeleb_Dressel I’ve been waiting for more updates hope you can make more videos like this your amazing welcome back to the deck thanks for the Christmas present hope to see ya again soon I’m back to the pool I’ll return on Monday I was out for a sore neck but I’m doing much better now so I’ll see pool on Monday.
Honestly first step was so enlightening! Finished competitive swimming in 2914 and never got taught what you shared in step one. Those details about arm movement etc. always wanted to get back in and move my arms more!! Thanks for such amazing info!!!
Love it. Hugely helpful. Ever thought of a merch store? Those caps would sell. Perhaps as Cody Miller about running an online store, or farming it out? Lots of fans would grab Caleb gear...
Extremaly helpful dose of knowledge with pro video content. Thank you Caeleb, nowadays generations of swimmers will benefit for sure. Can you share any content/advices for young swimmers what to do at home outside the pool to keep progress ex pull ups. Thank you some much in advance❤
Your insight is awesome. Thank you. I was amazed at how much you talked about feel. I have always coached kick tempo by time and kick count alone. It speaks volumes that you chose to emphasize feel. And..."spamming"? Sorry, I had to laugh. I am not cool enough for the lingo.
Hey man, love the video! Once again very informative and teaches me in a semi-entertaining way. Could you maybe do a video on turns next that'll be awesome!!
Oh, dear . . . he's started teaching old dogs new tricks. But helpful new tricks. Needed that about "fish kicks" -- now I won't feel so much like an idiot . . . .
When you are doing an aerobic set, what would you say your kick tempo is and how many kicks do you try to maintain? I think for me when i am doing 25s-100s on a more relaxed interval I can hit more, but when the interval goes down it is a lot harder. Wanted to hear if you had any tips on that.
I think you need the old Devo song here, "You must whip it! Whip it good!" I consider that the body needs to be like spring steel, not rigid, but kind of coiled up ready to whip. Not sure if you will comment or not, but the engineering side of me has been looking for an explanation or why.... "Every body knows that the dolphin kick on your back is stronger than the dolphin kick on your stomach." I have not heard any explanation as to why this is so. I know about the Lochte rule....
I'm really interested in your stretching routine, especially because I always feel that my flexibility takes two steps back after each session due to gym and swimming. How much do you stretch after each session/day? I love the videos; thank you!
Thanks for the content. I have actually worked on very similar drills and my underwaters have gotten a lot better. But, I have this problem where when I get tired or have been doing a lot of underwaters, my lower back gets really tight and I no longer can do the whole whip. Have you ever dealt with this and have any advice on mitigating it?
Any time when I'm trying this in the pool, I'm going generally down, ending up on the bottom, where it's impossible to continue with the kicks. How do you do it that you are generally going up instead of down? 🙂Thanks!

Oh, dear . . . he's started teaching old dogs new tricks. But helpful new tricks. Needed that about "fish kicks" -- now I won't feel so much like an idiot . . . .
What camera are you using?
can you do a breakdown of the 50free
Cancelling my plans this weekend to study this
Hi, are you using a whoop to track your swims?
Do sprint stroke next
Cool we do many of the same things. I was 48.3 100 fly.
Could you do a video on your whoop data, hrv sleep rhr strain that type of thing. Its a pity that they dont have a way to look at it in app

Where do you keep the tempo trainer during the underwater ?
Just pop it right under my cap near my ear!
Next gym session maybe? Plsss

Core muscles - the key
Crooks has a ton of movement. Gretchen W has a little bit, similar to you.

Is the bird?
Is the plane?
No, it's Cabele Dressel!
